1. Картли-Кахети царство вошло в состав Российской империи в 1801 году нашей эры.

С 1698 по 1917 год в Российской империи было 380 грузинских генерала. В 1917 году в переходном правительстве было 21 грузинских генералов, а в Советском Союзе - 126 грузинских генералов. Сталин и Берия также были среди 126 грузинских генералов Советского Союза, которые создали космическую программу России, атомную бомбу, атомную энергию (предоставили Советскому Союзу полную энергетическую независимость), полностью индустриализировали все 15 республик Советского Союза, положили конец голодовки, проводившиеся каждые 10 лет на большей части территории России и Советского Союза в целом. Они создали военную, научную, экономическую базу, сильнейшую разведку и спецслужбы, такие как КГБ, и превратили Советский Союз в сверхдержаву, которая была одним из правителей биполярного мира вместе с США, Россией и Русский народ по сей день пользуется своей властью. Русские были спасены вместе с другими 124 грузинскими генералами от гитлеровского нашествия и порабощения (более 300 тысяч грузинских рядовых также погибли во Второй мировой войне). Каждый пятый выходец из Грузии был призван на фронт Второй мировой войны - 700 тысяч грузин из 3,5 миллионов жителей Советской Республики Грузия. Примерно каждый второй не вернулся домой. 300 000 грузинских бойцов пали в боях, защищая свою Родину. Всего за время существования СССР (1922-1991) звания Героя Советского Союза было присвоено 12 777 человек (за особые боевые, научные, предпринимательские и спортивные заслуги). Звание было присвоено 95 женщинам. Всего 1038 этнически грузинских граждан Советского Союза получили звание Героя Советского Союза. Это означает, что каждый десятый герой в Советском Союзе был этническим грузином. Грузины получали звание героев в 5 раз чаще, чем представители других советских этносов.
Советский Союз был Грузино-Российской империей. Советский Союз был основан четырьмя городами: Москвой, столицей Великороса, Минском, столицей Белоруссии, Киевом, столицей Малороссии, и Тбилиси, столицей грузин. При этом все основные основы Советского Союза были построены грузинской элитой, создавшей эту сверхдержаву. «Единственным человеком, сыгравшим самую большую роль в создании военно-промышленного комплекса в России, был грузин Серго Орджоникидзе (Григорий Константинович Орджоникидзе), который в 1930-е годы был наркомом тяжелой промышленности. Он был, видимо, блестящим управленцем и он сыграл абсолютно ключевую роль в организации создания военно-промышленного комплекса России». - Александр Меркурис. Серго Орджоникидзе стал символом индустриализации, проводимой на территории Советского Союза в целом, поэтому его именем названы сотни городов, сел и районов по всему Советскому Союзу. и 12 районов, сел и поселков Грузии.
Eli would really like Japan I think... road signs are also in Russian in parts of Hokkaido ... with onsens / banya everywhere.. Hakodate and Sapporo has had russian (and czech) communities if I recall. FYI: I think some words in Japanese are the same as russian/slavic as well.

Not only are there Old Believer and other cultures with villages in Alaska and Canada :: I know of a couple Old Russian communities that have “sovereign native” status on Kodiak Island .... from the days of the first russian explorers of west coast Americas
You have to give respect to her, she received a simple referral to visit someone 60km 4 days away by trecking in the mountains and she goes. What a woman.

@@projectdesign4675I once (nearly two decades ago luckily) met a Ukrainian redhead girl/women, which was only interested in my success in carrier or potentials and the potential to make money. Realized it fast and we quite fast stop dating. It's a stereotype, but people/women are quite often that way in every country and they are also somehow flat and inappropriate to a certain degree without realising it (ever), unfortunately.
I am sooo impressed to see people in remote Georgian villages speak English so well. Here in Germany not even in big towns speak English at this level.
ThAT's because Germany is a developed country and German is a language of business. Georgian is a small language
Can imagine, that you are right, never thought about it. I also had problems with speaking it fluently because of a lack of practicing, but understood quite everything an average English speaker told, watched quite often English movies for over a decade etc. So oversimplified said, Germans usually at least understand English well. The older people in East Germany if 50+ years understand rather Russian language (or both). In Western Germany you can get along quite well without learning a single word of German. I got to know a lot of English speaking people, who never really needed to learn some German and even complained about that circumstance. But the scholar system of Germany slowly declines since decades as well, obvious and unfortunately!
If you go to many African countries you will find a lot of people speak English there as well, it is a sign of a poor under developed country we’re people dream of immigrating from their country so they put an effort to study English
Wtf small Language mean 😅🤦🏼♀️ German is part of Germanic language group together with many other European languages , so it’s actually easier for them to learn English . Georgian has its own language group , which incorporates other languages : svanuri, megruli and lazuri
How Germany being a developed country explain that many Germans don’t speak English ? When it’s a mandatory subject at school and they don’t have a problem related to deficiency of good teachers or difficulty for students to systematically attend classes
I am not tired about saying that you are such a great documentary maker. Your channel is, for me, probably, the highest quality one that I can find in youtube overall, in the most importnt terms (quality of content, quality of production, cultural spectrum). I don't know who you are, but I am amazed if you can do all this just by yourself.
Loved this video as a Georgian too. But referring to svans as not georgians and comparing their culture to Georgian culture made no sense. Every region of Georgia has its unique culture, we united to maintain that culture from outside forces. Svan language is different from laz zan megrelian etc… same with food, how we dress, party etc. in imereti you will find mostly vegetarian food when some one dies in svan they will slaughter a lot of animals. Every region is different there is no stand alone georgian culture without regional culture combined. Same people will refer to apkhazians as not Georgians and etc which is just sad.

Beautiful country and one of my favorite episodes. My wife is from Kazan, and I proposed to her in Tbilisi. That country will always have a special place in our hearts.

Not many orthodox christians there in a small country of Georgia, unfortunately. Sadly, many of them are woke (specially newer generations) that got possesed by ideology since pretty much most of media & "education" is controlled by west. Would skip this one..

About Kutaisi? There is nothing to see there 🤦🏼♀️ What a shame! One of the oldest cities, with so many artefacts, monasteries, natural monuments, caves etc… only thing she showed was a shitty district, also ridiculous!
What’s more, Svans are Georgians and it’s so freaking wrong to say it in a different context, Svaneti is one of the regions of Georgia, with a rich culture and their own dialect, which belongs to Kartvelian languages. So many more things to mention but I’ll finalize with the words - Russia and Georgia are NO FRIENDS! Soviet times are in the past and it will never happen again!

As an American it is weird to me that the Georgian people all speak English so well, but it is encouraging as a place to travel easily.

hello from Georgia! i'd like to let you know that we are little European Nation. we always spoke several languages, during old eras educated people knew Arabic or Persian or Turkish(Osmanlija) then we knew Russian and German, now we know English and yeah because of reforms made in Georgia in 2012 changed so many things here. that reform is putting English as 1st foreign language in every Georgian school, started from the tiniest mountain village to biggest Tbilisi schools. that's why English replaced two main foreign languages (Russian and German) and now i would surely say, that majority of Georgian population under 30-35 speaks English. best regards 🎈 we await more and more American tourists here 😁🥰

Keeping promises is also a matter of appropriateness. I for instance don't always keep to all my promises, especially if a person don't remember me of them, which I barely know! But in her situation as a guest of the house and these circumstances I would have tended to act similarly also because of all the positive side effects and opportunities within.

Hi Eli, I have just discovered you here, your English is very good I shall subscribe to you, it’s very interesting to see countries of the former USSR, I have learned that most of the older generations of these countries prefer to have remained so, but the younger generations can see more opportunities through independence, it’s very uplifting that you feel safe travelling on your own, in the west it can be quite dangerous for a lone female to travel without incident, it must mean that the people of Georgia are very respectful, thank you for a very pleasant view of your journey ❤
From Mestia to Ushguli, that is a big hike, and a huge elevation. We hired a cab, one full day round trip, cost us around $80. It was 10 years ago. I think Ushguli is the highest inhabited village in Georgia.

I spent two weeks in Soviet Georgia in the fall of 1985. We were a group of Finnish bird watchers, some of whom were students of geography and biology. We stayed in Batumi and went on trips to nearby areas. It would be interesting to visit Georgia again after almost forty years.
Yeah it's completely different now and if u can visit some time. Also there is many flights to Georgia from all of the europe so it's easy go get here. Cheap one are wizz air but they only flight in kutaisi. We love finnish people and you guys are always welcome here unlike russians. Best wishes

How nice to see you in Tbilisi! I need to go back, because we didn't make it to Svanetia. It was a very nice holiday, Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Gori, Borjomi and Batumi. My wife made me learn the Georgian alphabet so that we know where the buses go to. I even tried to lean some Georgian, but after asking "do you have milk?" - tkven rdze gqawt? - I gave up. We found out that they speak good English in Tbilisi, but on the beaches of Batumi, you're better off with Russian.

From the perspective of a Georgian person it’s the worst traveling video ever. what have you learned from it? She couldn’t find anything interesting to see but a shitty buildings and its yard😂 in the city where there are so many ancient monuments and so many things to see, isn’t it ridiculous 😂😂 All in all there are so many errors in this video! Beria who created Atomic bomb for the Soviet Union was Georgian. Sergo Orjonikidze, who industrialized all the Soviet Republics, including Russia, was Georgian. There were 126 Georgian Soviet Generals. and every tenth of the Hero of USSR was Ethnic Georgian.

@@tokaitrading8335No it's located between the Black Sea in the west and the Kaspian Sea in the east. It's a part of the Kaukasus Mountains. Former Yugoslavia consists of the nowadays countries from north to south: Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegowina, Kosovo and Macedonia in the very south.

Foreign countries often look exotic and better than ours, but the excitement disappears after a few years of living abroad. That's what I've learned.

Yes of course, but one can try to arrange and plan her/his life in a way, that another change of the place or country you live in become possible. I always thought about living about half of the year in one place and the other half in another. But if course it's (much) easier said, than it is done. But you also have to be quite open minded and cosmopolitan. The main power that drives to overcome all obstacles is the wish to have a certain change in your live. But I don't like the the usual overextended, rather somehow idealising expectations of many people and Iam lucky to be in a distance of it. Eli often thematisized it and I can only share that point of view.

Eli, what an x-mas gift. My plans to explore Georgia this summer didn't fit the schedule. So now I know what I will definitely do next year, no matter what. Kind and humble people with strong family values, close to nature, low and easy taxes and super business friendly for builders and risk-takers. This region seems just like the Swiss alps and if Georgia manages to stay independent, it could well become the next Switzerland. Same story of poverty, violence and struggle to self-govern their land.
It is amazing how many interesting and lovely people you meet on your journeys. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Hi Eli. Your channel is great, all amazing. I think it's interesting that the older people have a real warmth for Soviet times, I have noticed this on many different channels. Do you know there are over 1000 people from Georgia claiming refugee status in Ireland and 3% of Ireland in now Ukrainian. Just a little comment on the soviet apartments, sure they don't look beautiful but they are a home and this is a million times better than being homeless.
Those apartment buildings are found pretty much in a lot of cities in Europe and North America. But I admit that inter-apartment bridge is kind of cool and innovative. lol
Being homeless in the ussr was illegal so of course there were no homeless on record. The benefit of an authoritarian government is making up any statistic you want to seem perfect.
