Hey DAG, thanks for the video. Just had Ford replace the camera harness on a 2017 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Prem Package, recall #22S06. 1 day after the install, the car wouldn't start. There was initially a pop under the hood, all dashboard displays went blank, there was no sound of the engine trying to turn over, the trunk would not open, the armrest console would not open, and there was a random humming coming from underneath the hood, and different things began to randomly turn on/off. The battery measured at 12.4v that evening. I disconnected the battery cables so that the battery would not drain overnight. The next morning, the battery measured at 12.4v, but the AAA tow could not jump start car. Again, there was no sound of engine trying to turn over. Before the car was towed, I noted that the cable harness was tight (with no slack) with the car trunk fully opened. It was tight enough to deform the rubber trunk gasket where it was pulled up against. Ford says it was a bad battery. The AAA tow guy suggested that it was a bad ground. Would a code scanner have resulted in any kinds of codes to differentiate between the problems being due to battery vs. something out w/ the electrical system or ECUs? Thanks in advance for your reply. Great video. Electrical issues sure are complex to figure out.
Hey Dan, sometimes the problem is really simple and i say to myself that it does not worth posting. But then i think about those that have a little to no knowledge in this and the wanna fix their car.
Best most in-depth video on troubleshooting the back up camera. Thanks
Thanks
