He really hasn`t though, all of his supposed apologies, has had an asterisk around it, he has always in a subtle way blamed it on something else(Like blaming Timo Werner etc going to Chelsea.)
@@thetruth4654 he's just explaining his rationale as to why he originally made his prediction. His prediction was proven wrong, he has admitted it. I don't see why it is a bad thing or an asterisk to explain why you originally made the prediction you make.

I agree. I’ve seen mount do some pretty exceptional things with the ball. But lots of players have skill and never live up to the potential. I’m not sure about the guy

Love your posts Rory and to be honest my own football knowledge is appalling but need to be frank. If all predictions are based on previous performances and you can justify all your wrong predictions on this then we could all do exactly the same as you it’s easy. What’s hard is to analyse transfers, team development, age management philosophy, ownership investment and a whole bunch of other factors beyond me. This is what I hope from football content makers who make a living from it. I’m a gooner and was just amazed at how many pundits didn’t even put us in top 4 having seen our recruitment and pre season. I you were not alone. I was stunned at the lack of basic awareness of Spursism Todd Bohleys complete lack of football nouce and Liverpools aging first team.
I really love it seeing Rory taking L after L, and this season is no exception 😂
Regarding your Erling Haaland prediction, I understand why you thought he would not do well. He was certainly a prolific goal scorer this season, however, I have observed his technical side. He wants to score so urgently that he makes runs too quickly and ends up in offside positions. Additionally, his height works against him at times. He stumbles with the ball along the pitch, and this makes it easy for the opposition to regain possession. I saw this in the FA Cup final. On top of this, he fails to score in the big games like UCL semis, and the FA Cup final. He has a lot of work to do if he wants to be considered a COMPLETE footballer.
Sterling has his medals and is on his glide path to a comfortable retirement in a few years.
Hungry players will be the stand out performers in the Premier League.

Me too my shocking pick was Haaland not to cross the boundary of 18 Premier League goals and 25/less than 30 goals in all competitions. Don't hamper yourself too much for your erroneous prediction, we're human, we don't have the crystal ball. You're still a brillant, mercurial and dazzling UA-camr.

The fact that he said 'to turn up in a new league and win the golden boot would be outrageous' and even mentioned Salah as part of the establishment ... Because that's exactly what Salah did in 17/18 as far as I remember, and I'm not surprised Haaland did the same.

Nothing like we have ever seen before yet Salah had more non pen goals. I mean not taking away, you’ve still got to score them but it shows Salah was just as deadly from open play that first season in a worse team.

The issue with reactionary predictions in this manner is that you get walloped in the face by spending £4.6billion on 163 players with 55 year contracts in January to finish 12th. Then the next season, the gears get clogged with “but…we…they…top 6!!! Top 6!!! Top 6!!! Uhhhh….Brighton to be relegated”, then Brighton finish 3rd and the season after you go “uhhh…TOP 6!!! Everton to finish in top 4!!!”, then Everton finish 15th. It’s just a load of waffling based on the established order of things, only when an outside source proves things wrong do you entertain any idea of not being ‘safe’ with your predictions.

yes but it's very high risk, maybe i'd have low key said he might not hit the ground running but again he plays for city, so even a slow start would be 15 goals, which similar to his goal prediction for him but a lot more toned down.

well one thing for sure no one expected arsenal to be in a title race after bottling top 4. I feel like bottling top 4 and arsenal getting all the stick they did created a fire inside of them to do the unexpected and prove everyone wrong by going on a title charge
They had a great season but then they crumbled at the end again though
@@jelle5859Yep, for the same reason we bottled top 4 last season. We don't have the depth needed in key areas. We defo have more depth in midfield and LW than last year however, Kiwior is not ready. For me, we desperately need either e RB or center back. For me, a RB is vital. I love Ben and he's so good in the middle and probably better there then at RB. We will finish top next season, so long as we get a RB, RW, proper midfielders, we dont need 2 yet, but I would be one now and wait till Jan if we have to and a striker.

@@jelle5859 no, we haven't overachieved. I predicted 2nd before the season even began way into pre season. Our fitness and cohesion have been off the harts. We are by far and away the best team in the league with regards to looking and playing like a united team of players rather than a group of individuals. city are loosing Gundogan and Silva this summer along with some others. You saw it this season with them needing a massive ammount of motivation to go on the run they have. It'll be more of the same next year with less need to even win it.
I'm telling you now, without a shadow of a doubt, Arsenal will be top. The others will strengthen, however, Arsenal, with how they play, how they set up and how they've regularly shown vast improvements from failing positions. Bottling top 4 and bottling the league a year later a vastly different.
