    maybe they should make an all rounder with a more conical shape at the bottom? That would be the best of both worlds. Less to clean, cheaper, less sediment.

    DrHans, thanks for your review. the Fermzilla seems to have too many issues maybe they will perfect and improve in future. I think your honest opinion based on you actually using the fermenter surely helps them consider updates to their product.. Cheers!

    BTW a good way to pop the lid is to unscrew the ring just a bit and then use a flathead sxrewdriver under the carb cap (steel one) against the threaded ring edge and wank it up. if you are afraid of the small area pressure on the ring, just put some wooden kitchenware under to spread the force!

    I have a fermzilla for about a year now but I would exchange it for the all-rounder. The all-rounder is much much easier to get clean and fewer things to go wrong, plus it's much cheaper. Unless you want to harvest yeast then go with the Fermzilla.

    Great video! I’m on the fence between the all rounder and a unit that I can take the trub out so it doesn’t affect the flavor of the beer. I have heard that may be a myth. Do you think it would be fine to brew and serve from the all rounder and how long can it sit on the trub? It usually takes me 4-5 weeks to drink down a 5 gallon batch. Thanks!

    • @DrHansBrewery
      @DrHansBrewery  4 роки тому +1

      I havent let it sit for that long really. I would give it a go if I where you. I would go for the all rounder or better yet fermentasaurus snub nose

    only issue i had with the all rounder was having to tighten the red plastic posts very tight so they wouldn't leak, other than that works really well, beer tastes much better being pressure fermented especially when doing lagers here in australia

    This is made in Australia..... it has a warning label " do not expose to ambient temp above 45c"..... it was 49.8 inside the house on the day of delivery. Warranty avoidance method by kegland!?¿

      @@DrHansBrewery all the seams are clearly visible and the butterfly assembly had loose bolts. I had also order a digital thermometer from the same area which came in the same truck. The thermometer had a reading for high and low for last 1hr 12hr or 24 hr option. It said the last 12 hours averaged 38c with a high of 61c. So my unit was exposed to temperature outside the recommended safe range before it was used . And thanks to keg lands choice of words i unknowingly voided warranty the moment i exposed the unit to the air in my house. Lol

    I have never wanted a fermzilla with the collection jar...I don't harvest yeast (I find the process too fiddly for saving a few bucks). Having said that, I am very interested in the snub nose and the all rounder, so this review confirms some of my suspicions. I like the trub handling of the snub nose...other than that, all rounder for the win. Great review and details...Cheers!

    The problems you’ve had must have been most frustrating, I got my fermzilla in the first batch released in Australia and have absolutely no problems at all and with very minimal lube used, it’s been a dream. Best fermenter I’ve owned!
    I ended up buying an all rounder because I loved the original so much, and that’s been fantastic too. I use the all rounder for anything that I won’t be adding to during fermentation and then use my original fermzilla for anything I add to during fermentation like fruit or hops etc. I should note though, that before getting the all rounder I just simply didn’t open the butterfly valve and fermented without the collection container attached if I wasn’t going to make any fermentation additions, zero problems doing it that way. I figured the all rounder would be a little easier to clean and it is, not that I think the original is difficult to clean either, but it does save me a little time.
    Interested in the changes, some of them are sort of tweaks for improvement which I think is good, but some bigger ones I will be following progress on.
    My comment (novel) is getting too long already but I’m looking forward to the comparison of the keg king gear as I haven’t been hands on with that gear personally! Cheers!
