Full Metal Panic came out right as I really started to get into anime. It's still one of my favorites. I hope it's successful enough to get multiple volumes so maybe I can get more manga/anime out of it.
i will say, they have confirmed that the weird stuff they were doing with Kamikatsu is 100% on purpose, the author posted a tweet awhile ago talking about it, and it does have genuinely decent animation when it needs to (like fights that don't include the Abomination and well) so i'm really looking forward to what their cooking up Also new Shakugan No Shana!!!!????!!!!
The funny part is that you get the reveal they've been trolling you the whole time at the beginning of episode 4. Just past the three episode rule cutoff.
The Second Raid is one of my all time favorite seasons of anime. After waiting something like 15 years for Invisible Victory, I was hyped as hell for it. Needless to say, I was ultimately disappointed. I'm still glad we got more - and I'm holding out hope for another season - and there were some good moments, but it didn't reach the heights of the previous two seasons.
I also fell in love with full metal panic back in the day. I like the original season one and yet sequel second raid, and it’s third season. Have not started the light novels, but I did read the manga version of the first season that was released by ADV. I think that the author saying that his new full metal panic series could go on for 20 volumes is putting the horse before the cart and getting a little head of himself. Now don’t get me wrong. I want more full metal panic but I feel like it’s a little too little too late but if it can get popular enough for a new full metal panic anime that is tied to these new white novels. I’m all for it.
KamiKatsu did right by just skipping the week, rather than a dumb recap like Mashle pulled. The gods-awful CGI and farm equipment came off as intentional to me. Like, the director knew what he was doing with that and I love it. "So bad it's good."
Shana is my favorite anime and female character of all time above all the imperfection so I'm really glad it gets brought up from time to time being talked about even in this modern anime climate. So I would absolutely watch a remake and if they make it right shed a fear tears yet again.

Lots of anime getting delayed like last season but luckily it’s usually just a week for most. Hell’s Paradise and Oshi no Ko have also gotten delayed a week.

The key to learning Japanese from anime is turning off the English subtitles and immersing for thousands of hours. Hell I learned the word 目覚まし時計 from Card Captor Sakura. But I've still got a long way to go.
The best way Kamikatsu could improve itself is by deleting the entire series from the studio's storage media. Otherwise, it's "nice" to see "EX-ARM" inspired another series to spurt out like a bowel movement after a Dulcolax binge.
Boy Crunchyroll is trying REALLY hard to convince us its not an evil business monopoly...without doing anything to actually stop being an evil lazy business monopoly. I will probably pick up the sequel light novels for Full Metal Panic because I love the series, but I would much rather that they get someone to finish the story in anime form. I don't think that's likely to happen unfortunately.
I mean, the entire point of cultural localization is to give the same experience without being a Japanese lesson. If they're actually trying to give a Japanese lesson, clearly their approach would be different.
As a Japanese n3 student I can tell you learning Japanese from watching anime is going to help you in only about 20% of your study and you have to read and watch a lot of non anime or manga stuff and that is not fun at all..

They werent afraid to make shows with slower pacing, complex plotlines, darker tone, and psychological/philosophical themes Take texhnolyze for example, or ergo proxy, or serial experiments lain, or eva, steins gate, azumanga daioh, etc etc etc. You still see this type of show occasionally but its just not the same

*Full Metal Panic IV* anime's lack of lighthearted comedy is largely not the show's fault. That's because it adapted part of the story where everything is ramping up where the villains are getting real serious this time by sistematically neutralizing Mithril agents & bases, including the school post where the protags were. You can't really make light of what's basically amount to "school shooting by terrorist"-arc which then followed by destruction of Mithril and our protags pretty much scattered around the world being hunted down by enemies 🤷

If you read the core novels only, you’re getting a sprinkle of it here and there but it’s actually not that common.

I find that their home video releases have been lacking. I feel like their collector’s versions have been nonexistent and that makes me sad, as I would love to have that option for my favorite shows.
After slightly over a decade of use I've decided to delete my Crunchyroll account. They fully removed groups, and forums which is what I primarily used the website for. I mean between just two of my groups I had 30k members, a decades worth of effort gone overnight. I refuse to support the website going forward.
Sorry for the loss, LastHope. I personally haven't used that site for years, so the removal is news to me. It's a shame. They had a whole bunch of communities, contests and archives worth of history, and it's all gone, just like that? dang. smh.

Shauna was one of the first anime I ever watched (along with Eden of the East, FMAB, and Mai Hime) that got me into anime in the first place. Always happy to hear more news about it and I for one would watch the hell out of a new adaptation.

That’s what makes up fumoffu too. If you read the core novels only, you’re getting a sprinkle of it here and there but it’s actually not that common. It doesn’t surprise me that a continuation that’s a true continuation and not just a anniversary short story collection would follow in line with the tone of the original novels.

I'm pretty sure it isn't so much that FMP in the novels split the action and comedy but that Fumoffu was taking all the comedic side stories and adapting them in one season. Though, I also remember reading that the moment in IV which destroys the status quo is also such in the novels and it is less comedic from that point.

the best parts of Full Metal Panic's humor is its Gundam parodies and the fact Sousuke's seiyuu also voiced Domon of G Gundam.
