R.I.P Robbie Flower. One of the greatest ever to pull on a footy boot. And a hell of a nice bloke! From a Collingwood supporter who idolised Flower as a kid
Wow what an era it was for supreme wingman in the 70's & 80's Keith Grieg, Ken Fletcher, Gary Crane, Doug Hawkins..& Robbie Flower...What an absolute champion footballer..guts..determination and loyalty..Gone way too soon....
As a tiger supporter one of the first games of VFL I saw was Richmond v Melbourne, Rd 2, 1983. Flower dominated kicking 5 goals. He was so good watch, so balanced and skilful.
Words fail me to express my sadness on the sudden passing of Melbourne's GREATEST PLAYER EVER. There will never be another player with the skilful natural talent, agility, and courage of this true champion. Robbie, you are a legend, and you will live in the hearts of true Demon supporters forever. My deepest sympathy to the Flower family.
The Greatest Player that has ever played. Loyalty & Pure Skill was Robbie Glad i got to meet him a couple of years ago..lovely man, so humble Saw your first game Robbie in 1973....Saw your last in '87 You are the epitome of the Melbourne Demons and you always starred in The Big V Thanks Robbie 2 Flower
I do know Robbie suffered from Cardio Myopathy. A disease-causing the heart to increase in size. As far as I'm aware the cause was not Prostate Cancer. It was a sudden unexpected passing. A beautiful, beautiful man and the best player I ever saw. 66-2020.
I understand he did have prostate cancer but he’d had a number of health concerns including cardio myopathy, and I believe his heart suddenly gave out.
