I have done draw thru setup like that, and the amazing thing is that you don't need an intercooler for this. At ful boost, which was 14 psi on mine, the intake charge keeps cooler and cooler. The sucking from the carburator freezes the supercharger cold. Some of these AMR500S are not designed for fuel before the supercharger, and the rotor coatings eventually come off and fail.
Interesting install. Either the music is too loud or the voicing is too quiet. I had to keep adjusting the volume. Also, the text at the bottom of the screen is shown too quickly. Cannot read it without pausing. This should be a very helpful video for anyone wanting to install one of these units. You showed how much time it took and the pitfalls! LOTS of fitting,, re-fitting and adjusting.
Great job I could see the struggle and know there are no true bolt ones. Everyone is running different stuff every application will be different. Stealth alt works and such. ..... ❤Those heater boxes are legit..... 😂 Deck lid standoffs definitely not . Cb makes some nice stacks and covers for that
Boy the. superchargers are so fancy these days ! A friend gave me a Judson supercharger kit for a VW , looks really simple , but kinda dangerous 😁 and fun .
Yeah probably , but it was the "best" we had in the late 70's . 😎 Now we have turbos , fancy oil cooler's , counterweighted cranks and really nice rods . Trust me , I like the fancy stuff for sure . Thanks for replying
Nice clip - very informative! Think you can’t clock the generator like you do unless you alter the backing plate to make the cooling slot point down - or the gen will not get cooled… or maybe you did this of camera… ;-)
Awesome video guys. Did you do anything to the distributor to stop the full advance? I thought with a supercharger you couldn’t have it advancing to much?
Kompressor Haus launched the Slammed version of this recently which means you don’t need stand offs. You need an easy access alternator, all the regular outlets sell them in the UK, then the thing just fits under your regular deck lid. Maybe you can get just the parts to mean you can do that 🤷🏼♂️
I’ll put Bill on the hunt for those upgrades. I’d love to not put standoffs on the bug. I think they are hideous. Plus his chop top looks so much better with it’s Decklid in its proper place.
I thought that’s where you’d be at. Hopefully Bill can source the parts, and looking forward to seeing more on this car, again thanks for your time and response.
Made the installation of a brand new blower onto an 1800 VW air cooled motor. Started it and ran for a short while and drove it for a few miles. Then I had to take the blower off to make adjustments elsewhere. Looking inside at the rotors the "rubber" coating of the rotors is very rough and coming off in chunks. Brand new kit??? Anyone else experienced this and has a suggestion as to what's wrong?
@@the_Wagen No it wasn't. I bought the charger through Temu. I made all the kit to install it. Cant imagine why the lining came off the rotors. Giving it another go. Cross fingers.
Driving fast does not mean reliable.. a 36 40 and 1500hp are reliable motors, boosting air-cooled motors always spell trouble, very costly and seem to be a bit dangerous if your not a mechanic.
I’ve got a 2332cc in my bus that roadtrips regularly. It’s as reliable as any stock engine I’ve owned. It’s more dependent on the way it’s all put together. We did not do this for reliability, we did this to have fun in this car. 👍🏽

Killer install
Nice job guys.
Killer bug

Nice and clean brother!

Absolute killer. Amazing stuff !
Great upload,..sounds nice
That car is even badder than i ever thought!!!
Hell yea!!

I’ve never had a Judson work like these kits do.

A 36 HP fan shroud w/o heater ducts would look great!
Not happening. 🤣
Thank you for an interesting video. Please go with higher resolution next time.
I’m filming in 4K. It’s the way UA-cam compresses the video. 👍🏽

It was not clocked. When we pull the motor for the transmission swap we will address it then.
Awesome video guys. Did you do anything to the distributor to stop the full advance? I thought with a supercharger you couldn’t have it advancing to much?
No. We have it set at 28* full advance.
@@the_Wagen sweet as thanks for the reply.

Sounds like IBlameBlain for music. Good work guys and very informative. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great video any updates on the Supercharger conversion , have you had it on a dyno
No Dyno as of yet. But the car rips now. 👍🏽

The kit we installed is still going strong. Was your kit a Kompressor Hause Kit?
@@the_Wagen No it wasn't. I bought the charger through Temu. I made all the kit to install it. Cant imagine why the lining came off the rotors. Giving it another go. Cross fingers.
Love it.
Great video was dry coil packs used on the plug wires?
Not sure what you are referring to.
How do you attach the engine hood now ?
Deck lid stand offs.
They make a version of this, which will fit with no mods
Do you feel the kit is worth the money?
Definitely worth it. Most bang for buck I’ve experienced.
Can you share the size belt use for this kit?
It came in the kit. If I remember next time I’ll get the size. 👍🏽
wonder what a guy would have to do for a ghia deck lid might spruce up a 1200 haha
Do you need me and Bobby D to test drive it? #onecrazyweekend

Every minute working on bug is 1 min lost you could work on a real car.
Pinocchio of cars huh. 🤣
