How deep is the void?

Actually, there's just an invisible floor at y=-40.
Which means you can tp below that :)
This is useful if you have a creative server and want to ban someone, you can just tp them to y=-50.

You can acctually get a bit deeper into the void with godapples, because you were using them inefficiently. If you let the void to damage you a little bit before eating another apple, you can still regenerate that health, but eat slower thus you cen get lower

If you go to the stripe lands where the world breaks out the void floor can be nocliped or using /tp @s [username] -42 you can go down more unless you already know it .
It is, but you can teleport below it, then fall forever

You could go further with god apples, seeing as they give you regen, you could reserve them and only eat when you are near death so you feed the void some red hearts as well as absorbtion. Doing this, you could probably nearly double the distance
And you could start off with the effects before jumping into the void, adding a few more hundred blocks
also what about potions of resistance? you could use a resistance potion before you fall to increase that by a few hundred blocks

It's a mod that makes a minecraft world completely cubic - it means a minecraft world is as as tall as it is wide, changing the distance you can dig down or build up to the same distance as walking from the spawn to the far lands of your minecraft world. The only downside: it is boring, digging a cave to -120 000 is not fun if there is only stone and no cave generation. I like the changes 1.17 will do, maybe cubic chunks gets updated to that
Minecraft pe had this weird thing a few years ago where you could literally just go into the void and there would be an invisible floor you could walk on without dying to the void unless it was fall damage xD

You can use god apples more efficiently by slightly delaying between when you eat to get value out of both the regeneration and saturation.

Fun fact, in bedrock edition if you fall into the void from any distance in creative mode (and possibly survival) there is actually an invisible “floor” relatively close to the bedrock layer.

You can do another void platform by attaching multiple boats to a fence with a lead in the middle you get a very large platform if you keep on doing this method doesn't matter how many boats you use your choice.

btw in bedrock there is a limit that you can fall
it literally just stops you right there. you travel 50 blocks then you stop

Yeah the new update is amazing, a higher build limit and a lower y level!
Fun fact: By giving yourselves a ridiculously powerful Riptide 255 Trident, you can catapult yourself thousands of blocks down nearly instantly. If You modify the game to always be thunderstorm even under the void, can use it to severely boost your Regen 6-using infinity fall's speed... You might even finish your ridiculous 2^55 fall in *centuries* instead of million years! Trust me... That's actually still a huge improvement.
There are a few more factors that you might be able to leverage to get even further.
- You were eating every golden apple instantly. Instead of doing that, you could extend your life a bit more by only eating when your health is almost at 0. That way you can maximize the regeneration effects and get more distance per apple.
- Could you drop some apples along with you to get a larger inventory? I don’t know how long items fall along with you in the void, but if no weirdness happens, then you could bring enough golden apples to fall another 5 minutes. Better yet, you could even try juggling golden apples as you fall to reset the de spawn timer of the items and bring even more along for the ride.
- You could reach a higher speed using a TNT cannon aimed directly into the void. I bet that you could break the terminal velocity over its knee with a powerful enough TNT cannon (and a Totem of Undying to survive it).

...or it could just be something which was implemented for the sole reason of preventing people from falling forever when a hole in the bedrock is made and it could have literally no hidden meaning at all
now i don't really remember where i've seen it and if it was even legit, but in some old version of minecraft if you fell through the void far enough you would land on a small bedrock platform that had some throne-like structures on it, about 6-7. again i've seen this a long time ago, so don't quote me.

My friend and I were experimenting with void damage (on bedrock edition) and we figured out that absurd levels of saturation can regenerate health faster than the void can take them away. The coords really didn't like it, so we couldn't get an exact number of how far I fell, but I would guess it was over 15,000 blocks.

For those of you saying you can't go past -40 in survival without commands in bedrock, you're wrong. You can actually go to the ghost lands where vertical collision stops and you will fall right through the void floor. You can then use the enchanted apple method to go as far as you want.
You could use shulker boxes fill of enchanted golden apples so you could go much further

I don't know if this counts as a legitimate means of going lower, but you can build lag machines, that (if I'm correct) slows the rate at which you take void damage, while still falling at the same rate
