My machine made the same noise for quite some time after back flushing it one time. So I unplugged it for a while and plugged it back in and it stopped. It came back one time after so I did the same. I had the machine for several years after this with no issues.
I've owned 2 Breville Barista Expresses and they both eventually made this noise. Solenoid valve. Pain in the butt to get a replacement part. No more Brevilles.
Solenoid valve... My machine has the same issue. After about four months of using the machine 4 times a day I started getting the 'electrical buzzing noise'. It usually made the noise after I steamed milk and wanted to make another coffee. Usually when the machine is hot. Only option is to replace the solenoid valve. However, my machine seems to be fine in the winter when overall temps are colder.
While doing some research on the issue, someone recommend backflushing the machine more often in order to clean the solenoid. I have to say, since I started backflushing more often (about three times a month) it did seem to help. The problem is still there, but less frequently.
there 2 solenoids that activate the brew group I’ve replaced both of them several times now the coil breaks down over time causing intermittent chattering when activated
My machine was making a similar sound when I first got it. But I was unplugging/plugging in daily. I reached out to SCG for help. They said to leave it plugged in. Unplugging daily is not good on the machine. Never heard the noise again!
We have the same problem. It sounds like a short in the electrical wires when we push the 1 cup two cup button. I have no idea what it is. It doesn’t sound like a pump to me. It sounds like some switch problem.
The vid starts at timeline 6.50. The noise might be an electrical contact noise within a switch, relay or solenoid. To confirm, see if it distorts the sound on a fm radio. Hoon, youTube has free-to-use editing s/w which presents itself when a vid is being uploaded - the conservation of the world’s level of understanding needs your support.
I believe it's a valve, making noise. Even when you said it sounds good, it was making a ratteling noise that, when it gets worse, it makes the noise you finally heard. I have heard the same sound, now and then, on my BES840XL. It is a valve. I have ordered the valves more than a month ago, from Germany, they came late, but they came. The valves can be gotten off of EBAY, but through Germany or Australia. I tried to buy a scrapped '840XL, but what I got, someone had already removed the valves, although a scrapped unit is an option.
Sounds like the solenoid valve...it only gets worse as time passes by. I have had issues with it twice and both times i needed to replace the valve. Very easy fix though. The pressure will soon drop as well. She should prepare herself to get the replacement.
Hey Hoon 👋 happy New Year to you and your family ☕ I had the same noise and what I did was repalce the solenoide valve, I don't know if that is the problem in your machine but it can be.
I had the same issue and it is caused by the solenoid valve. Mine started doing this intermittently and then more often. I replaced it with www.ereplacementparts.com/solenoid-valve-assembly-p-629955.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA6Or_BRC_ARIsAPzuer9H3ZKjUxpcyMYSoO_rU9P654nVCxyXiCiHc7M9oMfu4QYcxcL-al0aAvkPEALw_wcB but FYI it is always backordered and took about a month for me to get. You need the entire set of 2 as they changed some of the plastic connections to be different shapes between the valves from year to year. However, the full assembly will fit all years AFIK.
Thanks for commenting I just replaced the pump on my BES870 There was a screeching sound ..however the sound returned after I replaced the pump...is this the symptom of a solenoid valve problem? IE a screeching sound and loss of pressure? You say both valves need changing? Thanks
That noise is when the boiler gets overheated When you are making one coffee one right after another it makes noise . This is home use machine , therefore you have to give some break after frothing milk
Please skip to 6:59. You can hear the sound.
Check this video it might help:

Was the little beep sound that occur before the pump engage? If so, it's solenoid valve at the bottom?

I think the reason for that sound is an air bubble inside the pump. This happens to my machine the more I mess with the water tank.

Yeah, sort of a buzzing noise. Have no idea, but it looks like other folks do. =)
I have the same issue from time to time. My understanding is it’s the solenoid valve as Timothy K described in his reply
Solenoid valve could be making noise going in and out. Does the machine function when it makes that sound??
I'm pretty sure it is the solenoid

You're right about issue with Solenoid.

I think so too.
Hi Hoon i've been watching your videos for a while now thanks for the tips. Also, hi Meg you're so pretty. ;)
I'm having the exact same problem.

disculpa, qué pasó con tu máquina? me pasa lo mismo

She is beautiful 💙😍
Yes!
Agree, it’s a very nice coffee machine!
Hmmmm, over 3 years of usage, time for a thoughts on the next machine...haha.
Try it one more time! 😂

I think you're right.Most likely the Solenoid.
I'm confused, what kind of noise is it making. Mine is making an inconsistent clicking noise?
The old its making noise issue, just to invite you over, uhuh! 😉
So far so good 😂
I know i should be thinking about espresso, but - you're friend is BEAUTIFUL, dude!!
My power on the coffee machine does not turns on
keep hitting that button . you*re almost there ! the selonoid hasn't started to fry yet ! one more time .......
