It looks like the algorithm picked this video up all of a sudden haha! I super appreciate all of you for watching. For those who are familiar, I competed at both wgi and dci =) How old are you? I'm 22
I'm 15 and want to do ice skating so bad just for fun. I was scared though because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to at this age. But you give me hope :)
Oh my GOD, rollerblading in addition to figure skating is so freaking smart. My rink is a drive so I can't make it out all the time, but rollerblading is something I can just do around the neighborhood and work similar muscles. Thank you for including that in your video, because I wouldn't have thought of it!!
I had to quit at 17 when I began training my single jumps, I progressed way slower than most people only reaching around Freestyle 2 skills after 3 years of weekly practice. Your video inspires me to remember when I do get back out there, the work was not for nothing and goals are achievable!
I’m starting at 18 and I’m so excitedd I was feeling too old because of all the toddlers there haha but this made me feel like maybe I could acc do it thank you so much for the inspiration
I am 19 and I thought it was too late for me , THANK YOU !! you've motivated me and I really respect and admire you for showing people it's not too late !
UA-cam has recommended us this video and happy it did! So great to see another skating channel out there! We’re rolling on 1 year of skating progress ourselves and are about to release our 10 month progress this coming Friday hehe
I'm 21 and about to start. I'm honestly soooo worried about being too old and that I won't get anywhere with it. But you've made amazing improvements in only a month. I'll remain optimistic and hopeful!
You can do it!!! Tbh a lot of what people say about needing to start young is BS. As long as you're committed and work hard you will improve!! It's all about personal fulfillment anyway 😊😊
same, i’m nearly 15, and even though i don’t have plans to do a career in figure skating, i feel really upset that i’m too old. Ive started practicing inline figure skating in my garage, since the closest rink is well over an hour away, and i still can’t shake the feeling that it’s pretty pointless practicing it :( i love it but idk
Thanks for sharing your progress! I’m also an adult skater (started last year right before the pandemic closed the rinks) and it’s been a struggle since I had never seriously learned any sport in all 25 years of my life. But I’ve been a huge fan of the sport for a long time, and I’m still having so much fun learning :) Your progress is super fast though :o it took me months to get to where you were on day 1 😂
Hahaha ikr what was I thinking 🤣 I was just excited to practice all the time even when I was home. I'm fairly certain I wasn't actually fully rotating it though since you can't see my feet
Omg I'm sorry I didnt see this till now! This Saturday will be 3 months, but I actually took most of this month (month 2) off bc of finals and then I went back to working full time =(( . But yeah, my first lesson was april 24th and I'd only been ice skating likeee 5 times in my whole life before that. But I have a background in dance and I rollerblade!
Yay I'm so glad I could help motivate you!! In this video I'm using jackson soft skates, but I wouldnt actually recommend them because they dont have a proper toe pick for jumping. I recently got jackson freestyles and they're amazing if you're working on your single jumps!! Good luck 😀
If they're new skates you may just need a bit of time to break them in, or you may need to adjust how you tie them. But yeah I do kinda remember the material they're made of not being super accommodating. The freestyles are a lot more comfortable! If you think you're kinda in between soft skates and freestyles skill-wise, jackson mystiques are also a good option =)
Hii uh this is gonna sound weird but I saw you multiple times at the rink just last Friday and sunday. If u remember a small girl with black hair about the same length as you with either light green or gray jackets on doing interestingly bad sit spins and camel spins, that is me. I never speaked to you. You really have improved a lot since this video. I saw u doing back scratch spins now. Good job! Uhh, hope to see you there soon? Idk yt algorithm is magik 😂
Oh hi! I think I remember seeing you there but I dont remember what you looked like 😂😂 but if you wanna say hi some time you totally should! But you dont have to if you dont want to haha. thank you!!! I've had a couple people say they skate at the same rink and it's awesome every time!!!!
@@marshallspins yeah hehe I actually have class there tomorrow morning. I'm supposed to start learning the axel, which is terrifyingly hard. If I see u I might say hi next time. I'm kinda shy tho

I think that the two are different enough that if you don't know how to Rollerblade, it may not be worth it bc you'd have to also develop those skills. You also can't do jumps or spins on regular rollerblades bc they don't have a rocker. But yeah, I liked using them for basics like stroking and crossovers!
