My friend told me that I was imature cause I want to learn figure skating which she thinks that those lessons were only given to kids. Im kinda sad cause she thinks that way. Im now thinking that other people think like that too. Youre never too old or too late to figure skate. When youre happy with what youre doing, just go for it. Were both 25 btw, I started figure skating last year but I stopped after 5 months. Im thinking of going back again.

Two years ago I won a pair of quad skates and really wanted to start learning figure skating but then felt too old and fat, now I've gained more weight and I'm 34 but a brand asked me to learn figure skating for a video Im supposed to do by the end of the year. I´m starting on february and got that bittersweet feeling of fear and excitement, but cat wait to start!!!!

@@rae9112 I started a few months after I turned fifteen. I will 17 in about 3 months and just passed freestyle 1. Considering I don't have a private coach (I do group lessons) and only practice once a week, Ive gotten pretty far. I'll be competing for the first time tomorrow with some friends from my class! :D I definitely think you can do it. For me it helped when I balanced out the fun and amount of work that goes into skating. Lastly, never be afraid to fall, especially in the beginning. The falls you have when you first start skating will(usually) be softer and not as hard on your body since your not doing much. With experience in falling you start to pick up on how to save yourself from falling or how to lessen the blow.

Well, I can't talk for her, but in my case, I always wanted doing figure skating and everyone said: you're too old. As I grew older (I'm now nearly seventeen) this wasn't something that could hold me back. Til then I was on the ice maybe once a year, but for that very fast. I've seen my boyfriend practicing the crossover and I also tried it. And that was the time I said: Okay, let's do it! And I just learned figure skating by myself. Not as good as she, but I will be better with a coach. ;) Just have fun and don't look on others. They maybe have over conditions, that help them :)

I wanted to start figure skating from when i was 5 but my mother always told me that it would be a waste of money and time. She always told me that i was made for swimming even tho I don’t like it. One year ago i moved to Spain with my parents. My city is a very hot place and theres absolutely no ice. I started giving up on my dream but after watching this video my dream came back. I really want to go to Russia where the rest of my family lives and start ice skating. My mother is overprotective and I don’t think she would let me go there, this video made me believe in myself tho. I am not going to give up on my dream until it becomes true. Maybe you can rollar skate, as an alternative? That’s what I’m going to do. I live in rural Australia. The closest ice rink is three hours away, and even the closest skating rink is an hour. Even the closest skatepark is 30 minutes. I’m 15, so I obviously can’t drive myself yet. The day will come though. Anyways, my plan is to save up money to buy rollar skates, so I can first Judy practice whenever we go to town 😸

I started when I was 23. I was in my first competition 7 months later. I continued stating until I was 36. I stopped because of a work injury to my back. There's nothing like flying through the air when jumping. I still miss it a lot.
When I started, many other adults were also beginners. The nice thing is most rinks have morning sessions for adult skaters. That was my favorite time to practice. No kids and the group size of skaters was small.

I’m thinking of picking up lessons now that I’m more independent, but I’m still slightly insecure because I’ll have to start with Learn To Skate, which has a lot of little kids :/ it’s amazing how much you’ve progressed! This year I've been stumbling upon many figure skating videos (mostly Yuzuru Hanyu's competition videos and so on) and I finally realized that I have a crazy passion for figure skating and that I want to get started on practicing it. At first I honestly felt a bit unmotivated because I was like I'm 21 years old, isn't it too late for me to start? So I searched up literally that question and SO many people including figure skaters responded being super uplifting saying that it is never too late to figure skate or do anything that you're passionate about. And that is so true, this video is the proof of it. It just feels so heartwarming to see so many people like me that have found the figure skating passion and want to start. And it really is never too late guys! Remember that there's other people like you and that it is better to not regret anything. I'm so happy that all of us have this common passion and I will do everything in my power to start training (I've already started stretching a lot to make myself more flexible) And guys we can do it ! 💪🤍⛸️

oh my god idk why it's not a sad video but I actually started tearing up!!! you are giving me SO much inspiration right now. I just started my adult skating classes 4 weeks ago and we only have one class for 45 minutes each week :( ... I also just bought my own figure skates today. At first I thought that it was too late, seeing as these amazing figure skaters started when they were 3 or 4.. I'm only one year younger than you and we have the same dream! All I ever think about is SKATING now!!!!

I'm 15 and my mum tells me I'm too old now to start learning and I also have school and soon I'll go to college but I really want to ice skate, just for fun. So this video kind of gave me hope that when I have more free time I'll get to learn to properly ice skate, I've watched real, professional ice skaters in competitions and it looked so beautiful; made me want to do something like that too.

I'm 26 male, and just signed up for a figure skating lesson last week. Binge watching bunch of skating, workout tips, and olympics videos. Also researching for my own skate.
My first week was rough, got bruises everywhere because I fell easily 😅 Now I will attend my 2nd lesson this Wednesday, hoping to consistently go into the rink for years to come ⛸️

    After binge watching Yuri on Ice and then seeing this, I really want to ice skate. But I think it will be too expensive. Besides, I am about to start high school and will probably not have enough time for extra activities. D;

Please do a flexibility video! A am as flexible as a plank of wood and can’t even touch my toes! I have only done about 3/4 of a year figure skating and am still considering myself as a beginner. Well done with your progress!!! Also how and why did you make the decision to have private coaching? Thank you! This video gives me so much motivation to get towards my general goal of possibly being able to do an axel one day!
Edit: just looked and saw you have a video already, thanks😄

Luna Rose hehe! i switched to a private coach once i finished skating school!! having a coach is a game changer because it’s instant feedback to what you’re doing and they work directly with you!!

I always loved figure skating, but I don’t have access to a permanent ice rink so I can only skate in winter....so I progress very slowly.....
I also got injured this year because I wore some old and dull ice skates (I literally broke my ice skates so I had to borrow some to be able to skate....BUT!! I finally bought new ones), so less ice skating for me this year.....😞
I hope some day I’ll be able to do at least half of the things you learned in this one year of practice. But thank you. You gave me the motivation to move forward and not give up on this wonderful sport! ♥️

I've been fascinated by figure-skating for roughly 4 and a half years now, and I even went to my local rink all alone just to skate, once. I've had several dreams where I do figure-skating. I'm 19. I know I won't be able to do triple toe loops, double axles etc. etc. But I really really want to learn hos to figure-skate. I think it's time to do so! Love this video

i've been wanting to ice skate so bad for YEARS but i couldn't bc i didn't have an ice rink in the city i lived. i finally moved to another city and there's a rink pretty close to where i live!! and i'm thinking about starting practicing soon. i'm 20 and sadly that's what people usually consider to be "old" to start stuff like this. but man, screw age. i've waited for years and i don't wanna be like 80 and regret not doing what i wanted to do. you're always getting older anyway, and there's no way to stop time. just live ur life guys.

Wow that’s an amazing progress your’re very lucky ! I started skating a few months ago but unfortunately unaly here in France there are very few ice rinks, so we’re like 50 in one class and there are no private lessons for beginners, so it’s very hard to progress.
