Rare to hear of a loyalist Word Bearer, this will be good!
Right, I didnt even think they had any
I think there is another one that named The Anchorite. He survive become daemonic host, surviving dropsite massacre, surviving battle of Calth, captured, repent, tries to kill himself for redemption. But instead helping creating the ecclesiarchy.
*Man he did freak out Gman out there.
Him telling Guilliman to go fuck himself at the end of "The Unremembered Empire" and swearing he'd kill Lorgar was pure badass.
Narek aided the Salamanders during their perilous voyage but was discovered once his true identity resurfaced, forcing him to fight off both former allies and Word Bearers sent to hunt him before escaping to the surface of Nocturne
He was a good boi
It's a miracle this dude kept his loyalty a secret given he literally has a primarch who unlike most, had psychic abilities on standby ready for use in mind reading and that was even AFTER lorgar went fuck it and started to once he turned traitor to really fuck shit up.
How im I only hearing about this guy today, he seems like a top tier badass.
I think he was either in "Pharos" or "The Unremembered Empire" if memory serves.
John Gramaticus is just a little shit and he screwed over MANY characters while as an Cabal agent, this is one of his many victims.
He's one of my favorite characters from that era and he lives on as a contemptor dreadnaught known as the anchorite
@@georgestauber2636 The Anchorite is a completely different character from Narek.
@@n543576 This story was from 'Vulkan Lives' since I'm reading it rn
As a loyal son of Corax, this concept confuses me
Narek can make the Alpha Legion confused
yeah he's dead, probably got turned into one of those demon-possessed space marines too. RIP loyal word bearers
Narek is one of my fav characters in the 40k lore. Total badass
Barthusa is but one of few exemple of "the guylt of the father, not always, fall on the son" iven when everyone arround you think otherwise
NAREK WOOOOOOOOOOO
Would you do a follow up????
Ohh...a loyalist word bearer,i tought they got killed off early or choose to drink the chaos koolaid told by lorgar.
just to clarify Narek did not remain loyal to the emperor. He was disgusted by how his legion had fallen to chaos and wished to kill his primarch. he had no problem killing loyalists
Such a great breakdown. What a ride this dude had. They could do something interesting bringing him and Corax unto the same fray, they have the same agendas.
He was not a loyalist! He was a fucking traitor who hated what his Legion become and wanted to kill Lorgar for it. He was more than happy to kill real loyalists before. The Eldrad part is okay.
Loyalty to the Emperor is the only pre-requisite Brother 😉
Even Alpharius (Me, of course 🤫) is confused
1:44 "Temporarily killing *primarch Vulkan* Not in a Million years could a mere astartes hope to kill a primarch. Its like saying your 6 year old sister managed to kill you with her bare hands while you are in full power armor. The power difference is really that ridiculous
Just one of many writer's idiot moments
Like Matt Ward fucking made Cato Shitcarius kill the Night Bringer. GW had to retcon that shit into defeating just tiny shard
@@thecommentguy9380 Agreed!
Wow I thought every word bearer turned traitor. Makes me wonder if there's any loyalist night lords?
It's highly hinted at that there in fact are. The space sharks are hinted at being such a chapter
They shall be Elucidated one day
@Vae Victis note: he would eventually become one of the founding Grandmasters of the Grey Knights
There are some. One of them is Kasati Nuon. He fell in with fellow sneaky bois of the Raven Guard.
There's the Anchorite, last known loyalist Word Bearer in the 41st millennium
I didn’t think there was a Loyalist in the Word Bearers, like … at all! This was certainly unexpected. Okay. This Marine has my respect. 🫡
Ah yes narek of the word., the last loyal son of Colchis. He is easily one of my favorite characters of the Heresy. He survived the heresy and lives to this day as the dreadnaught known as "the anchorite".
That’s another guy
This is great
I know only one loyalist and he's a dreadnought. Just the concept of Loyalist One confuses me
What is the Dreadnought's name?
@@GipsyDangerfan the Anchorite
Barthusa Narrowkin 😂
Marvellous
Damn GW and their unfinished plotlines !
Dude had a rough time.
he's "loyalist"
Narek…as hard as they come…
Nice one!
We sure he is not of the Alpha Legion? He just moving around everywhere
Sooo he still fell to chaos?
Why did he need fulgurite to kill Lorgar but didn’t need it to kill Vulkan
Not surprising
-Be an ordinary Astartes
-Kill a primarch
-Is somehow important enough that Malcador wants him
-Somehow survives alone, against Salamanders & Word Bearers who want him dead
-Somehow gains the attention & good graces of Eldrad
This, is how you don't write a space marine. This is how a pre-teen writes their first main character, not a grown man writing for the black library. What else did Barthusa do? Beat ten Custodes in a duel, resulting in them bowing to him out of respect? Did he pull a titan princeps from their throne & take their place, using the machine to take Khorne's sword & cut a tear in reality that rained a harem of anime women down upon him? Did he reveal himself to be an alpha omega quantum plus level psyker, using his powers to resurrect The God Emperor, just so Barthusa can reveal himself as his father?
What horseshit.
