Being born in '80, for the most part, I still remember where I found a good chunk of the figures. Extendar came from Sears, as did the Wind Raider. Modulok came from Woolworths (really showing my age there)! And Whiplash from a local pharmacy... the figures really were everywhere, even at little convenience stores. He looks great with the lance. It is sort of odd that he only includes the shield, but otherwise he looks really good. Congrats on the new family addition :)

Great review Jared, I just received my Extendar order today here in Tokyo - Thank God Mattel ships to Japan! Even though I didn’t grow up with this figure, his designs are growing up on me in recent years and I look forward to displaying him with Stridor as a shining armored knight on his steed, MOTU style! I gotta say I grew up obsessed with medieval knights and castles, so this figure hits a real string for me, and I am really glad to get this figure.
I’m older than you as born in ‘78, so I had MOTU original figures from different years as a kid growing up in Canada, but not that many.
And today I learned that your favorite faction is the same as mine; the Snake Men! I’ll never forget the first time I saw King Hisss as a kid and my grandparents got it from me that day. They are also my all time favorite MOTU faction.
I also wanted to say that actually, contrary to what you said in your video, the vintage Extendar figure also featured curved extension areas on the arms, pretty much at the same angle as this Origins figure.
I thought I would mention it because I myself had been under the impression, not having grown up with this figure, that the arms were straight extensions, until I looked deeper and found images online of the vintage figure sideways.
Keep up the good work, you’re the best MOTU figure reviewer out there, in my honest opinion!

Thank you for this awesome comment and kind words! You’re so right about the curves! Great to hear from a fellow Snake Men enthusiast! King Hisss forever!

I'm old enough to remember 80s MOTU in real time, but never got the chance to outgrow it. It wasn't about being on to the next line for me - production ceased. And one thing I can confirm is that Mattel had absolutely no idea what to do with MOTU back then. There were certain details that I became aware of after the fact but I recognized it as a kid. That's the crazy part about seeing how it's handled today. It's not that I think they are "ruining my beloved toyline", but more that it is mirroring the past in a way that invites collapse without resolving on its own volition.

Nice review Jared. I missed out on him, not one of my favorite characters, but I might try to pick one up later. Congrats on the new addition to the family. :) Glad everyone is doing well. 🙂

Congratulations👍🏿. ...Now she just needs some MOTU themed onesies 😁. Mattel get on it: we need an infant size Battle Armor insignia, Roboto gears, & Orko "O" 3 Pack immediately!
