I think I remember seeing years ago on your channel that you have one of these, by the way before I forget, Merry Christmas early to you and your family!
Reminds me of the time I'm looking up on how to change the foglights on my car. Some people in that Facebook group said that I have to turn the wheel all the way to one side and remove the fender liner to gain access to it. Good thing I explored and found out that I can easily just reach the bulb from the engine bay. Dunno how people make simple things unnecessarily complicated.
My 2001 Dakota 4.7 also has a Cam sensor up in the front, When it went out none of the aftermarket ones would work!, Got one from Dodge and it worked perfectly!
Whoa, that dash was completely apart....and I thought replacing the passenger airbag off lamp in my crown vic was difficult. Kudos to your dad for being able to put that all back together. Unfortunately the video cut out before you were able to finish your crankshaft position sensor operation on the Dakota patient.
He has no fear in stripping down those dashes! Its one of his favorite repairs to do ! Also, the second part was on its way out. I couldnt edit the two videos together for some reason
Good stuff! Also, have you ever come by those convertible Dakotas before? The early 90s was quite interesting considering Dodge decided to make a convertible truck. They probably only optioned it with the higher end Dakotas in the 1st gen maybe. Merry Christmas!
@Jay Smart Right on Jay. You’re a riot. Love it. Anyway, I’m wondering: I have a 1990 Dakota and I don’t see a “Fuel Pump Relay” on the under the hood schematic or the fuse box schematic. Am I lame?, am I missing something? Thanks my Brotha. G~
I have been working on my 1988 Ford Thunderbird 5.0 that’s been in a barn since 2003 And a one owner I got it for $450 and I didn’t run it needed a fuel tank and pump and also a starter. I replaced that it fired right up then we took it down the rd for a test drive after I pulled all the wheels off to make sure we weren’t gonna die or anything, it actually drove amazing besides having 20 year old tires and a Mouse nest blowing I my face from the blower motor lol 😂. But it’s a project you can follow my instagram if you want too, I am posting a lot on it with my project cars, cars_trucks_outdoor_195 as always keep up the good work jay 😊
Thanks. The only reference I could find on this is page 8D-6 of the dealer shop manual. It's only marginally helpful. You showed me where to look, and boom. *Question: We need to remove this part as one step of the procedure for removing the automatic transmission. But this part is called 'engine timing sensor.' That is on page 21-100, step 15 of 4WD transmission removal. ** Is this the same part, only called different in the two procedures?
I’ve got a 1997 dodge Dakota 3.9. It was idling good and then shut off. I have no spark and no fuel it seems . I’ve replaced the crank sensor pickup coil reg coil cap and rotor still no spark Getting ready to scream lol
Put a PCM in it. There’s a company here in North Carolina called “Car computer exchange” I have used them many times for new Chrysler ECUs and they are fantastic.
Love how you bring theses oldies back to life. Love it, well done young man.😎👍
Man after all they years of watching you. They videos keep getting better. Keep up good work.
Your videos are Christmas presents all year round!

Thank you!
Nice video! Haven't even seen it but still nice!
aw, Supporting my videos even when their garbage :')
@@MXguy95 It wasn't garbage, it was actually pretty helpful!
Yes sir if there's a will there's a way to get the job done a much better way. 😁👍
The older dodges are better than the newer dodge
would hope it's the same for the 360 since it's just a bigger 318 on the inside, outside is the same.
The older ones not have that. They use the pickup in the distributor.
Good video as awesome jay
Thanks buddy! Much appreciated

I wish I had enough room between the engine and firewall of my first gen 93 D150 3.9l to do it that easy.
You know what they say.. big hands.... big gloves.
What is that sensor on the front of the throttle body on that 3.9
Love the videos keep up the good work marry cristmas
Merry Christmas to you as well!
@@MXguy95 thanks
A prime example of working Smart(er), not harder.
I'll see myself out. 🙂
BOOOO
How did you fish it out, my is stuck and there isn’t enough room to fish it out

My friend leslie edge has a dakota that looks like that one
if i can't find this socket at harbor freight we're else can i find it went to the Harbor freight we're i live didn't see it
Do you have a video of doing the coolant sensor? I just brought a 94 dakota and the guage isn't working
It’s right behind the alternator you can either take off the bracket it sits on or just have an extension that can squeeze in
Last time I was this early, I got my money back, and a pat on the back
Does it throw a code for crankshaft position sensor
Some of them may, but this one did not.
Can this sensor cause intermittent no starts and stalls?.
Yes ! But also so can the PCM which Chrysler was notorious for having problems with during these years
My name is Dakota so your fixing me
uh.... hmm... ok
@@MXguy95 I thought I didn't had a problem but here we are

Damn a 90s sell it for big bucks
Also can your dad help me with my heater core
Oh it sold fast! This is just a video from last week.
You bring it down, and he can fix you right up! He loves some heater core action haha
I will forgive you for no OwO in the thumbnail lol.
You didnt look hard enough >.>
@@MXguy95 you got me this time lol
Did you find it ?
@@MXguy95 I did! No such thing as awoo violations!
Gotta 360 swap it 🥵
