How do professional Men tennis players stack up against professional Women pickleball players?
Jack Sock is one of the best tennis doubles players on the planet and is actually an avid pickleball player. John Isner is an American tennis legend who also plays pickleball recreationally. They face off against 2 of the best female pickleball players in young teen phenom, Anna Leigh Waters, and veteran showstopper, Jessie Irvine.
That hit when they weren’t ready was so unsportsmanlike
Agreed but it was exhibition and for fun
Man I love your channel. Such high quality videos!
All the best!
Impressive level. The boys were very kind in the third set though :)
1:36 thanks, Will
Will made at lot of unforsed errors during part of the game
Is that Kim Clijsters in the background?
PPA needs to hire you to do their thumbnails
Haha thanks Sam
and sound effects.
I’ll just be on the mic at live events doing ad libs
@pickleballwill is it me or was ALW upset they lost?
I can’t speak for her but I’d be mad I lost if I was her haha
What happened with Isner? Looks like a totally different player here. Played really well after being picked on in the other mixed games.
I’d love to see a rematch on the tennis court.
Haha I guess I would too but we all know how that would end
@@PickleballWill then why do these commentators pretend they're better than the tennis players
It’s just an occupational requirement for all commentators
Wingspan. Height. Reach. These cannot be taught. Great skill all around.
Is height a huge advantage in tennis/pickleball?
Definitely
It is an advantage in tennis, since it gives you more reach and allows you to weaponize your serve since you can serve overhead. However, there's a certain limit where being too tall can become a liability, since it inhibits your mobility and agility. The sweet spot for tennis seems to be between 6'0 and 6'4". John Isner is 6'10", and while he is one of the best servers in tennis, you can see that he struggles to move around the court at times.
Service wise it’s MASSIVE, as someone posted above it hurts in the below the waist portion of the game and the agility.
Guys this tall have the biggest serves in the world and the height they come down from is just insane.
In tennis, height is advantage on serve, overhead smash, and resch. But disadvantage in movement.
. . hmmmm I wonder if some pro tennis players are thinking going pro pickleball? Probably not a lot of money in pickleball, however it's getting momentum and sponsors
Eh unsportsmanlike serve , ball don’t lie
I don't see pickleball packing in 750,000 people over fortnight like U.S. Open Tennis does. And tennis is an international sport like F1. Speed and great athletics. Battling in the kitchen is very boring to watch. I would be surprised to see pickleball become a big spectator sport like ATP tennis.
Why were the tennis guys going easy on the girls like that? They’re not hitting the ball anywhere near as hard as they could be, weird. Sock is most of the time, but Isner clearly isn’t.
Now go play a tennis match. 💀
Id like to be as cocky as this commentator about how bloody this is going to be when they play on a tennis court except it wont be an ignorant comment it will be a straight FACT..
Pretty much proves that PIckLeBaLL is a JOKE. "Pros" deleted.
Those girls are incredible. These dudes are freak athletes and top tennis players. It's not like they lost to basketball or football players.
The commentators are sexist and obviously pro pickleball. They are very annoying.
The commentary is SOOO ANNOYING
What a waste of talent
I think if it was non-rally play, ALW and Irvine would have beaten them pretty handily.
lol nah, just takes a bit of time for tennis players to get used to pickle ball and demolish all women pros
