Emilia helped him find his lost daughter, she was the broke kid like him. That’s why he then helped Subaru because someone did him a favor without wanting anything
@@GOTGames Subaru then started smiling after he noticed the flower because he realised that Emilia’s nature does not change despite repeating the events This confusion was caused by the English sub. In the English Dub, the translation is better
@@LooKingG00dthe show explained everything to you. Its your problem if you cant catch that due to your incompetence. He literally thought of leaving everything this behind and starting a new life EXCEPT this is his new life, he already know this people, got himself attached to them, and he knows they're about to die. Plus every human being acts different, I dont know why you are expecting him to act like you and use yourself as a basis for being realistic?
The reason Subaru kept running into the same thugs each time is because they had already chosen him as an easy mark in the main street and proceeded to follow until he was alone
If his taking a different route and still gets ambushed. Why Subaru didnt find that suspicious at all? Also if thats the case then the alleys in this place all looks exactly the same
@@Pochitaman30 He found it suspicious, but was generally too pressed for time to stop and investigate. The alleys look the same because 1: it's easier to animate. and 2: even though he isn't necessarily in the same alley, they are generally close to the main street, and that place clearly was built with the same style, so it makes they look similar
I love the way that you're appreciating how strong and reliable Subaru is from the start, alot of fans of this series expect so much more from him and give him flack for it. Yet for someone his age, he is actually really strong and athletic! (not to mention his already abnormally strong will power to help people he has no real connection to). It's just that in a world of magic where even children can be gifted essentially super powers and blessings, he's just a normal person who lived a normal modern lifestyle. There's only so much he can do, especially with how strong threats like Elsa are.
There were reactors I couldn't stand to watch because of their hate on Subaru. Especially so after episodes 12 (I think) and 18... It's nice to see him be appreciated.
@@ZEFISH888 i believe it was the writers intention for those episodes to make you dislike subaru. he's a flawed character who has a hero complex and does most things because of his own selfish desires. He expects women to fall in love with him in return for his deeds, and this, writing wise, isn't a bad thing. The fact that many people didn't like subaru after those moments is what the author set out to do, because Subaru is set to grow as a person throughout the next few seasons. Subaru is an amazing character BECAUSE he's not strong, even if he puts on the front that he is, at least that's what I think
@@sumicmusicit was the writer's intention sure but that episodes 12 and 13 made me like Subaru more because he is not a poster boy instead he makes mistakes and f*cks up quite often, he let his ugly side show in that episode which made me like him more because it is so relatable. I think we all have at one point or another misguided our anger at someone because of our own insecurities and shown our ugly side
@@sumicmusic Episodes 12-13 are masterpieces in character building in my mind. They genuinely show for the first time that this guy is a deeply flawed character, that in other settings could even be a villain - and this is right after the whole bit with him killing the demon dog thing no less, which I actually wasn't a huge fan of as it felt kind of cliché in a fairly bland shonen action sort of way. Hell, most of the episodes right after the two just build on him already breaking down, so those would also count, but it's insane how well those two episodes in particular portrayed him as being intensely hateable and obnoxious, yet simultaneously obviously disturbed and in dire need of therapy. It's at that point that you really begin to realize just how mentally ill he is, as an already very troubled teen trying to cope with an unforgiving new reality by playing the hero constantly and seeking recognition to a pathological level; and so you follow him, reluctantly, terrified of how he'll embarrass himself next during some of the cringiest moments in anime ever, yet unable to look away from this dude just crashing in front of everyone. And then obviously you get rewarded for your efforts if you stick with it, via some sweet character growth (but not before the awesomeness that is episode 18, where the arc comes full circle and he finally fully reveals the degree to which he's damaged on the inside). No other anime has, in my opinion, portrayed this well a complete mental breakdown (at least, not in a fantasy setting like this). Also, sorry for the short essay, I just wanted to gush a bit.
Subaru is quick witted, personable, & athletic. His heart is in the right place & morally principled. Subaru remembers the agony, physically & mentally of his previous deaths. He makes every effort to avoid it.
I do like the fact he enjoys Subaru as he is right now, but of course we may see a shift once some flaws, small and major begin to show and I can't wait to see his opinion on those moments, ontop of the reaction to why he is the way he is. Man, this is going to be a good journey.
To clear things up for you: After the first death, he thought he somehow got healed as this would be an option with a higher likability than a loop that restarts upon death
Lots of little details are easy to miss in part because the novels are so dense with information that got cut for the anime. For example, the reason that one random guy in the slums was nicer to him in this loop was because he looked poorer and rougher without Emilia around, (and in the novels he rubbed dirt and stuff on his clothes to fit in even more) so the guy saw it as looking out for one of his own rather than helping some rich girl. The little details like that are what make the series so freaking good in my opinion. Also, the reason Elsa's dagger throw missed Reinhard, is because one of his powers (op mfer that he is), is to literally just not get hit by projectiles. Reinhard the GOAT
You definitely captured the stakes of Re:ZERO in your wrap-up by the end of this video. A lot of people do argue that they don't see the stakes when Subaru can just Return by Death whenever he wants to basically revive anyone he cares about, but they fail to realize the uncertainty of his powers, the pain of death, the psychological toll it can take on him, and the chance that something might be impossible to do if he has unfavorable timing (like being unable to get somewhere matter how many times he resets). I personally have always argued that his Return by Death actually leads to _more_ stakes because ANYONE could die at ANY time, which also feels more realistic considering the world he's in, compared to a lot of anime where main characters survive the unlikeliest scenarios time and time again.
People get disappointed because they come in thinking it's an action fantasy isekai. It's not. It's a character drama, wrapped under layers of disturbing psychological horror, disguising itself as an action fantasy.
Subaru isn't anything special for a magical fantasy world, but he's pretty strong for a normal human. So while he can't do much against someone like Elsa or Emilia, he's still strong enough to at least participate and help a bit in fights, which makes it more interesting.
Subaru is an interesting character. He's outspoken and overconfident at the beginning but later grows greatly to a very complicated but relatable character.
Heres some fun facts: Subaru is voiced by same VA as Senku Emilia is voiced by same VA as Ai Hoshino Reinhard is voiced by same VA as Gojo (also voicing both versions of Greed in the FMA mobile game) Elsa is voiced by same VA as Lara Tybur a.k.a. Warhammer Titan.... also viced Megumin's mother in the Konosuba movie
at 25:43, well, Rom and Felt would of course freak out because Subaru literally just admitted in front of the person who commissioned the two of them to steal the insignia "Oh lol I'm gonna outbid you and give it back to the owner." So in Elsa's case, she would go all 'knives out'.
Elsa is crazy hot, crazy terrifying and completely crazy. She cast a subtle suggestion spell on Subaru, when she asked what he was going to do with the insignia last episode. Then everyone could feel her intense bloodlust from his answer.
@@fili0938 agreed literally the only character that can outdo him is probably anos voldigoad. i cant imagine many characters in anime that can beat him
Subaru said that he "work out every day"(19:05 in your previous video). And he said that he "swing wooden sword all the time for no reason"(39:02 also there). That's why he have that reflexes and strong muscles.
BLESS another Re:Zero day. These reactions are single handedly kicking my seasonal depressions ass. Thank you Luke The other Broke kid the appa sales man mentioned was Satella btw, that’s why she still had the flower on her from the little girl even this loop The anime didn’t explain it properly but it was different alleyways, every time Subaru was being targeted because of his outlandish looks and clothes Also don’t apologize, appreciate you paying attention as much as you can. There’s a lot of important info hidden in the conversations and even in the banter It’s so funny to see how invested you are 2 episodes in and you already even got the Re:Zero Paranoia in happy moments lmao If you’re wondering about Elsa’s blade she threw, Reinhard is so op his aura deflected it Glad you’re not one of these people who think that if something goes wrong he can just easily start over bc all the moments with the friends he made will be gone. The emotional and psychological toll is high since he also got to die to restart which is scary and painful The forthcoming episodes will wreck your brain. It might even start to... tremble BTW Please Change the episode title to “Episode 2 & 3” it help the fans of the series to find key episodes and also your views. The next episode would be “episode 4 & 5” the directors cut episodes always end on the uneven number of the original airings numbering scheme
@hidetakamiyazaki1825 luckily I’m on patreon so i can just copy paste the stuff and be early here so he sees it for sure! Love this anime so much so I’m committed he gets the best viewing experience possible 🫡
10:08 they explain this better in the manga, but Subaru IS going a different way. he makes a point of going down a different alleyway every time, and they still run into him. he's destined to always run into them that first time
He's not destined to run into them, its that they've already marked him before his checkpoint so they just follow him into whatever alley he goes into. He could've possibly avoided them if he just stayed out in the open where the guards can see.
Another great reaction! Remember that Subaru is basically a weird otaku boy from our world, so he occasionally says nonsense words and makes strange movements with his body. I'm glad that you are paying attention to things that are being said, most of them will be important as you learn more. You are asking good questions too, and its fun to see you doubting the calm, happy moments. That's a good instinct to have lol
Just in case sayin' but in Re:Zero there's a lot of episodes with after credits scenes, so remember - Unless you see Episode Title Card the episode ain't over Dunno how those are placed in director's cut, but better be safe than sorry
I love re;zero because it was the first anime I watched that the mc doesn't have plot armor and is legit getting himself broken with every agonizing death he has in this harsh world.
If someone dies and Subaru gets the good ending, will he try to reset everything to try to achieve the impossible? Luke will have to remember asking that question. Ill probably bang my head against the wall by the time we are through season 2.
Oh Luke, you are not ready for what's coming 👀 Each and every arc will ony get more intense and crazy. Every time I feel the show can't top itself, it somehow does! And no worries, it's okay if you're silent as you watch. There is lots of great details for you to catch as you watch. I do look forward to your reaction to this next arc as a particular scene sold me on the show! I never looked back ever since.
this was episodes 2 and 3 of the main series. You hit the nail on the head with that ending comment I think that is how most of us felt at the end of episode 3. Recommendation: even if you have to mute it for us listeners listen to the openings and endings when you get the chance and give yourself the ability to engage with them in context with the show.
He has posted reactions to the openings and the endings once before if you didn't already know, but I do think it would be cool for him to possibly watch them again with context later on.
@@Querez8504 I'm aware and for many shows, I skip openings/endings. But for some I don't because it has a big impact each one has on the tonal experience of the show. Re-zero is a peak show where the musical score of the opening and endings impacts the emotional tone of the overall show
About Elsa throwing knife at the end, she was actually aiming at Reinhardt but the knife got misdirected instead coz the Swordmaster has something like a passive skill (its called Divine Protection in Re Zero universe) that made him immune to throwed-object.
When I watched this anime for the first time, I watched the entire first season in one night because I couldn't stop, I was so invested. And in the second season it only gets worse. When the third one is released my friend, waiting each week will be torture because it will be so good.
This reminds me of when I first watched Re:Zero. I remember Domics mentioning the anime in a video while S1 was still airing and then I immediately started watching and didn't stop until I was caught up. Afterwards it became the first anime I ever watched weekly on release days. I was so immersed into the story for weeks on end... I don't think any other anime has given me the same experience since.
I feel you, re:zero was very well directed, they did a great job! The second season was insane, the wait each week was torturous! The only anime that ever made me go to light novels in my whole life@@bravado2809
Definitely listen for the soundtrack as you watch. There are many many masterclass osts that are worth putting in a playlist. Also the shot of her throwing her dagger was a subtle showcase of one of reinhardts many "protections." Where projectiles literally evade him... and man ur ending query... oh boy..
I think the most compelling thing for me is the emotional and mental toll Subaru’s ability takes on him as time goes on. I mean... its easy to say “oh it’s not a big deal he just gets to retry” from our position just watching, but can you imagine how awful it would be to die and see people you care about die over and over and over again? Especially in such painful ways. It’s not surprising that it eventually starts having an effect on him.
Emilia is such a sweetheart.....few people often forget that. After season 1, Try watching Re zero: memory snow and Re zero Frozen bond....for the back story of puck & emilia and I think it'll help you understand her personality more.
(Please Read Luke) Directors cut is fine EXCEPT FOR EPISODE 9!!! Please instead of watching episode 9, watch episode 16 and 17 of the original (same content). The directors cut removes the ending song during one of the most memorable scenes of the show IMO, and the scene is MASSIVELY downgraded without it, seriously you need to see the original version of this one scene! If you want the absolute best experience, watch the directors cut Episode 1-8, then 16+17 of the original, then continue directors cut till the end
Subaru was actually taking different ally’s every time but the thugs were following him because they noticed he had strange clothes and looked lost so he would probably have something valuable on him
You're asking all the right questions but nothing can prepare you for what happens in this show. This anime is like that once in a lifetime ride that you may never get to go on again but you always remember it as one of the best
You being hyper focused on details, while maybe not landing correctly all the time, Is absolutely the right mindset for this anime. There is A LOT of really small things that come up 5, 10 or 20 episodes later. Not only is it fun to speculate, but when you do catch on some little thing, It'll enhance the experience so much, for us viewers too. I know already you'll love this series... to death *ba dum tss*
@@nugget6820 !SPOILER! . . . . . . . He said maybe Elsa was a vampire, which she actually is. Re:zero vampires aren't the traditional vampires in media, but it was still funny he made that random call that will be relevan like 30 episodes later.
I agree Luke, Subaru is a likeable MC. At least for me personally I just feel like I can relate to him because of how humanistic he is as most fantasy world MC characters seem more OP or superhuman where Subaru feels and seems more like myself. And Reinhard is such an awesome character! What a gigachad! 💪 He is also the same VA as Gojo from JJK which is no surprise why he would voice an godlike character! Got to love Yuichi Nakamura who is the VA!
Agreed, I actually really like Subaru, sure there are moments that aren’t great of him, but everyone has that, everyone makes mistakes. I can understand why he does what he does in some instances, can I say that I could do half as much? Hell no, but I understand his motivation for a “happy Ending”. I feel like I might attempt some but would ultimately give up, break, or both. His highs and lows, I can accept his low’s because man, his trauma kinda makes it fairly obvious why he does some things. We are illogical emotional beings. Subaru is also fairly smart, intelligent and wisdom are two different things. He is very intelligent and in some instances wise. Wisdom however is built on our experiences, so he is wise in n ways involving life or death and reading people eventually, not to mention faking happiness. Even then though, idk if I can say he is necessarily faking happiness, but rather he is happy around the people he cares about, but not alone, he is always depressed in the back of his mind. Just kinda pushing the problems away from his head.
You were not mistaken in feeling very unsettled both times when Elsa was defeated, first time being she hadn't been defeated, and second time Subaru sustaining a severe injury. That feeling never goes away while watching this series - you're always going to be waiting for the next thing to go wrong that will end up traumatizing Subaru. And it's one of the things that makes this series great. As far as why Reinhart freaks out at the end when she sees Felt holding Emilia's insignia... well, reasons.
The fact Reinhart could pick up a flip flop and probably kill someone with it like it is a masterwork weapon always will amuse me. Sure he op as fuck, but he is a nice guy so I'll allow it.
Yeah, there’s at least one fanfic where he explains that there’s basically no difference between a toothpick and a sword: see, they both are roughly the same shape, they both have a pointy end, and they both shatter after a single hit! This is why it is perfectly reasonable to believe Subaru wholeheartedly when he claims to have killed an archbishop with a toothpick. The best part about that was that Subaru was actually telling the truth.
The rules for return by death are pretty simple,it only stop working if subaru doenst want to come back anymore, yes, even if he dies of old age he returns, yes, even destroying his soul wont stop him from returning,it does not create alternative timelines but just overwrite the same timeline over and over, everytime he goes back the misama around him increases exponentialy,if he talks about it,domething happens to prevent the knowledge reaching someone else,if he tells emilia she dies,if he shouts out into the wind a small army of beats hunt him down,if he writtes it the text dissapear and so on,even time itself stop to prevent him from revealing his power Also a small Fun fact:due to hispower subaru has immortality type 3,5 and 6,because his body got just straigth up vaporized back on earth, while his soul was the only thing actually isekaid, the body he has is actually only an artificial one his soul pupperters around, meaning subaru technically count as an undead creature, adding a new extra layer of immortality to him
About the scene when Reinhardt fight Elsa something to give a quick explanation. -In this world exist something called Blessings. Is something little power that are bestowed to you when you are born. Like that time when Felt accelerated out of nowhere and Elsa said it was a "wind Blessing". -Reinhardt have "a few" blessings, a couple of them are "he always hit the 1st hit in a battle", "he can break a adversary's weapon to desarm him", and "deflect projectilies" are the ones showed up in this fight. Just to name a few.
@5:30 Not sure if you're talking about Happy Death Day. Every time she comes back to life, her external injuries are gone but her internal scars remain.
21:19 The fang is often considered a cute physical trait, but from my understanding, it does have a specific meaning : It usually means the character has a wild personality or something along those lines. In this case, Felt is a thief who grew up in the slums, and she's quite hot-blooded; she definitely has that "untamed" personality. If she was more reserved, more cold-blooded, more calculating, or something like that, she probably wouldn't have the fang. The fang could also just be used as part of the design of a character that's part animal, like a cat girl, but this is not Felt's case.
Spoiler alert . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . Felt is obviously last member of Lugunician royal family (except someone). Reinhard understood this thanks to insignia, the fact that she's around 15 (Ford Lugunica lost his newborn daughter around 15 years before main story), golden hair and red eyes (signature feature of every royal family member). In royal family there is interesting event. Every few generations borns "Lion king", the member of family who is especially genius in ruling country. And if I remember rightly - that fang is signature feature of such person
The film with time loops, where after each death main character sustains some injuries that you were talking about in the beginning, was perhaps "Happy Death Day".
Wow, Luke can cook man. For spoiler reasons I wont say where but cooking on point! Tastes fantastic And yes true fact, I have never knew I can be scared while staring at a magnificent pair of Gazongas until I seen Elsa.
I think the film _Happy Death Day_ had a time loop scenario where the protagonist is gradually accumulating injuries each loop. It's subtle and they don't notice it at first, but it gradually starts to take a toll.
I understand why you want a breather between ReZero and another serie. ReZero is one of my absolute favorite anime even if it’s really difficult mentally and emotionally to keep watching sometimes. Subaru is a great MC and the fact he isn’t OP despite his power really make him stand out from the isekai MC. If you want something less dark, I recommand Ascendance if a bookworm. It’s a slow isekai.
BTW since you are wacthing the "director's cut", the episodes from 2 to 13 are actually "couples" of episodes, meaning episode 2 of the directors's cut is actually episode 2+3, episode 3 of the director's is 4+5, and so on, therefore maybe it would be more clear if you wrote 2+3 and so on (or maybe something like "RE:ZERO DIRECTOR'S CUT EPISODE 2 (2 + 3)". Cause for example if someone wanted to see your reaction to episode 18, there would be no episode 18 showing up cause that would be inside episode 10 of the director's cut
the director's cut edits and the episodes and somtimes even adds scenes to melt the episodes together so you not being able to tell when the second episode begins is a very deliberate choice
Re:zero is one of those show which drain you mentally and keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the episodes. Hell of a psychological horor thriller.
these videos are always such a welcome surprise (because i can't remember your upload schedule to save my life lmao) thanks for making my breakfast that much better, i can't wait to see what you think of the show from here
finally!! FINALLY!!!!! A reactor who notices that Subaru is just going down the same alleyway every single time and not realising "oh this is where those three thugs are staying." You have no idea how gratifying it is to hear someone else notice that, 99% of people are always arguing that it's just a random alley and they're stalking him, they're not, they hang out in the same place all the time and wait for someone to go past the safe point to jump them and mug them.
I sooooo can't wait for more! So happy you're finally watching this! I don't think you're quite prepared for the rollercoaster to come and that's the fun part! So excited!
Just wanna share that Reinhard is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura who also voices Gojo that makes him voicing two over the top characters in their respective verses Basically Reinhard is a built different & honoured one character in Rezero world
I do hope it is Demonslayer next as I have the entire manga series box set. I love that series & wouldn't mind you reacting to that next. I am so glad you are enjoying Re:Zero though! You think this is intense you are in for a long ride! But I love your reactions nonetheless! Looking forward to the next episode! 😄
Some people would say subaru is just too weak and a crybaby for a main character, but lets be honest, being in his shoes for me at least its pretty simple - i just don’t want to lose persons dear to me and feel this misery and pain over and over again so he’s very reasonable and relatable as a character. Also his development in the series is just on another level. Also if u loved episodes 2 and 3 (bc in normal series episode one just as long as the one in director’s cut) i just can’t wait following episodes. Man i love this series so much and you got me hyped for it once again.
Ep2! The headphones comment came from the absolutely memed 'Call of the Witch' musical sting. Subaru is a great MC 'cause he so much like us! Subaru is a terrible MC 'cause he's so much like us.... It's kind of amazing how you ask a question and the anime answers it a minute later. Re:Zero, the psychic anime.
I mean....Elsa can eat me, and I love your reactions because they are genuine, as far as I can tell, it's always fun to watch something you enjoy and share it with somebody
About the movie where MC loops in time with more and more issues is The Butterfly Effect. But maybe you meant another one, since in this one MC does not die.
That sharks tooth thing is called snagle tooth and its more for cute but vicious girls also there is the ahoge which are the hair antenna or cowlicks and they are used to make characters look silly or goofy
"How is Subaru so fucking bad ass?" Simple. He's seen her kill enough to get some ideas as to her typical movements in combat. Not an expert per se, but enough to make it easier to dodge her attacks and whatnot.
Without spoilers, when Reinhard in on cene is like= we win, no matter what or how, we win, and finally someone notices the dagger of elsa that " run away" of Reinhard face when she throwed
WELL... This ending sold me! SO SO AWESOME!!!!

Subaru naive mc
the worst decision he took was in the kingdom hall
💯
I do like the fact he enjoys Subaru as he is right now, but of course we may see a shift once some flaws, small and major begin to show and I can't wait to see his opinion on those moments, ontop of the reaction to why he is the way he is. Man, this is going to be a good journey.
To clear things up for you: After the first death, he thought he somehow got healed as this would be an option with a higher likability than a loop that restarts upon death
Ah okay!
It really does! 💯
Heres some fun facts: Subaru is voiced by same VA as Senku
Emilia is voiced by same VA as Ai Hoshino
Reinhard is voiced by same VA as Gojo (also voicing both versions of Greed in the FMA mobile game)
Elsa is voiced by same VA as Lara Tybur a.k.a. Warhammer Titan.... also viced Megumin's mother in the Konosuba movie
Emilia also megumin
Also Japanese HuTao in Genshin lol@@RenderingUser
at 25:43, well, Rom and Felt would of course freak out because Subaru literally just admitted in front of the person who commissioned the two of them to steal the insignia "Oh lol I'm gonna outbid you and give it back to the owner." So in Elsa's case, she would go all 'knives out'.
Elsa is crazy hot, crazy terrifying and completely crazy. She cast a subtle suggestion spell on Subaru, when she asked what he was going to do with the insignia last episode. Then everyone could feel her intense bloodlust from his answer.
Rezero is a great series, and the arcs afterwards only get crazier and better consistently. its a wild ride.
Fun fact:
Reinhard's VA is the same as Gojo-sensei and Tsukasa from Dr.Stone. No wonder why he is so overpowered
Ah yes, the Plot Armour Character VA 🔥
Reinhard would beat Gojo IMO
Reinhard is equaly overpowered as sukuna in jjk
@@fili0938 agreed
literally the only character that can outdo him is probably anos voldigoad. i cant imagine many characters in anime that can beat him
@@eduraavida2702i dont think so, coz the author said if the sun and Reinhardt were to fight.. Reinhardt would win
Thank you Luke
The other Broke kid the appa sales man mentioned was Satella btw, that’s why she still had the flower on her from the little girl even this loop
The anime didn’t explain it properly but it was different alleyways, every time Subaru was being targeted because of his outlandish looks and clothes
Also don’t apologize, appreciate you paying attention as much as you can. There’s a lot of important info hidden in the conversations and even in the banter
It’s so funny to see how invested you are 2 episodes in and you already even got the Re:Zero Paranoia in happy moments lmao
If you’re wondering about Elsa’s blade she threw, Reinhard is so op his aura deflected it
Glad you’re not one of these people who think that if something goes wrong he can just easily start over bc all the moments with the friends he made will be gone. The emotional and psychological toll is high since he also got to die to restart which is scary and painful
The forthcoming episodes will wreck your brain. It might even start to... tremble
BTW Please Change the episode title to “Episode 2 & 3” it help the fans of the series to find key episodes and also your views.
Up
He needs to see this
10:08 they explain this better in the manga, but Subaru IS going a different way. he makes a point of going down a different alleyway every time, and they still run into him. he's destined to always run into them that first time
He's not destined to run into them, its that they've already marked him before his checkpoint so they just follow him into whatever alley he goes into.
"my reaction might be a bit boring" he said as he delivers one of the most authentic reactions on youtube
The one that helped his daughter was Emilia. She still helped, even without Subaru there.
Just in case sayin' but in Re:Zero there's a lot of episodes with after credits scenes, so remember - Unless you see Episode Title Card the episode ain't over
Dunno how those are placed in director's cut, but better be safe than sorry
yes it is definitely the case in the director's cut. you should just watch till the title card appears
“Does she eat people?” had me rolling idk why😂😂😂
I love re;zero because it was the first anime I watched that the mc doesn't have plot armor and is legit getting himself broken with every agonizing death he has in this harsh world.
If someone dies and Subaru gets the good ending, will he try to reset everything to try to achieve the impossible?
Luke will have to remember asking that question.
Ill probably bang my head against the wall by the time we are through season 2.
Oh Luke, you are not ready for what's coming 👀
Each and every arc will ony get more intense and crazy.
The movie you were thinking of was 'Butterfly Effect' with Ashton Kutcher where his body gets more and more wrecked when he changed the future/past.
Does safe time in the editing department though ;)
Is this the Rem scene or is it another scene
it's the freeze scene

Subaru was actually taking different ally’s every time but the thugs were following him because they noticed he had strange clothes and looked lost so he would probably have something valuable on him
You're asking all the right questions but nothing can prepare you for what happens in this show. This anime is like that once in a lifetime ride that you may never get to go on again but you always remember it as one of the best
Fun fact, Subaru choose every path differently it's just the thugs is already mark him as he look like an outsider
OK, I just saw something that you DID catch on (and absolutely shouldn't have, like WTF?) It'll be hilarious when it comes up.

The rules for return by death are pretty simple,it only stop working if subaru doenst want to come back anymore, yes, even if he dies of old age he returns, yes, even destroying his soul wont stop him from returning,it does not create alternative timelines but just overwrite the same timeline over and over, everytime he goes back the misama around him increases exponentialy,if he talks about it,domething happens to prevent the knowledge reaching someone else,if he tells emilia she dies,if he shouts out into the wind a small army of beats hunt him down,if he writtes it the text dissapear and so on,even time itself stop to prevent him from revealing his power
Also a small Fun fact:due to hispower subaru has immortality type 3,5 and 6,because his body got just straigth up vaporized back on earth, while his soul was the only thing actually isekaid, the body he has is actually only an artificial one his soul pupperters around, meaning subaru technically count as an undead creature, adding a new extra layer of immortality to him
rewatching this now makes me reeeaaallly want another season. Theres so much plot and world building the show has to get to.

Better prepare your heart cuz rezero is a emotional rollercoaster ride that will make you feel different emotions 💪 Truly a masterpiece of an anime
0:28 Heh.... "Rabbit hole"...
29:15 Did you forget from the first episode that Emilia was also broke?
Reinhard is the ultimate op bro.
Btw, it's still pretty light, it's going to be a lot more brutal mentally later on.
"Subaru needs to assemble the avengers or something" -proceeds to assemble Felt, Rom, Emila, Puck and Reinhard lol
5:05 i've watched Re:Zero 3 times over by now and i never once caught that One Piece reference. amazing
Its JUST the ep2 and its already that intense 😂😂😂 Good luck with this show and have fun because this is a rollercoaster of twist and drama 👏👏👏
I just noticed that Reinhardt's divine protection activated on 50;47 when Elsa thrown her dagger. It made she missed the attack.
Bro actually managed to accidently guess Elsa's race
Yesh. Re Zero is basically plot twist after plot twist with no end in sight.
The film with time loops, where after each death main character sustains some injuries that you were talking about in the beginning, was perhaps "Happy Death Day".
Also watchout for the quotes in this show, they are awesome as hell
i love subaru...i love how quite realistic he is as a character
bro doesn't know what he's gotten himself into. At the latest when the "requiem of silence" moment comes, he will literally collapse.
Wow, Luke can cook man. For spoiler reasons I wont say where but cooking on point! Tastes fantastic
And yes true fact, I have never knew I can be scared while staring at a magnificent pair of Gazongas until I seen Elsa.
I think the film _Happy Death Day_ had a time loop scenario where the protagonist is gradually accumulating injuries each loop. It's subtle and they don't notice it at first, but it gradually starts to take a toll.
this is what re zero does its complex and makes you uncomfortable but its worth it one of the best man
"Why do I still feel uncomfortable?" Hahaha... that feeling of dread will stretch out until the end. Good luck!
8:08 you just explained the core concept of Re:zero IF perfectly (don’t worry it’s not tied into the main story)
Good for you man
The white haired girl (Emilia) has also been voiced by Rie Takahashi who voiced Megumin from Konosuba and Ai Hoshino from Oshi no ko.
Reinhard like most overpowert character ever.
Episode 2 already? That was quick,I appreciate it!
Are they good, but why do I still feel uneasy? - Re:Zero in a nutshell.
the director's cut edits and the episodes and somtimes even adds scenes to melt the episodes together so you not being able to tell when the second episode begins is a very deliberate choice
Hot dang the second episode is already out ? Awesome !
We've been waiting on this for a reason man! It gets so much better!
I think the movie Happy Death Day had a situation where the mc was injured through the many times she died in the loops.
Re:zero is one of those show which drain you mentally and keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the episodes. Hell of a psychological horor thriller.
52:36 hey, hey, have you noticed the flower on her chest? Now you know who rescued the daughter of the "appa" seller in this timeline 😁
17:10 you have a knack for predicting the future lol
27:30 - 28:20 That was awesome to see. A real reaction because that moment is really that tense.
Totally hooked. Awesome. So exciting.
these videos are always such a welcome surprise (because i can't remember your upload schedule to save my life lmao)
thanks for making my breakfast that much better, i can't wait to see what you think of the show from here
finally!! FINALLY!!!!! A reactor who notices that Subaru is just going down the same alleyway every single time and not realising "oh this is where those three thugs are staying."
You have no idea how gratifying it is to hear someone else notice that, 99% of people are always arguing that it's just a random alley and they're stalking him, they're not, they hang out in the same place all the time and wait for someone to go past the safe point to jump them and mug them.
I sooooo can't wait for more! So happy you're finally watching this! I don't think you're quite prepared for the rollercoaster to come and that's the fun part! So excited!
Just wanna share that Reinhard is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura who also voices Gojo that makes him voicing two over the top characters in their respective verses
Basically Reinhard is a built different & honoured one character in Rezero world
I do hope it is Demonslayer next as I have the entire manga series box set. I love that series & wouldn't mind you reacting to that next. I am so glad you are enjoying Re:Zero though! You think this is intense you are in for a long ride! But I love your reactions nonetheless! Looking forward to the next episode! 😄
“He went too far, we all know he went to far”
Oh hohoho budy, you have no idea how far… 😂
yesss...he is feelin what everyone felt when we first watched this anime.....i ain't gonna miss any of these reactions
Bro you’re watching my fav anime right now lol
Man only if you knew when you were going crazy over the swordsman, that his VA is also the VA of Gojo😂
I think that the movie you were talking about at around 5:30 was "Happy Death Day"
Also: Thank you for the great video!
I love your videos they are making me so happy
Thank you ! 💙
I mean....Elsa can eat me, and I love your reactions because they are genuine, as far as I can tell, it's always fun to watch something you enjoy and share it with somebody
That "stay tunned" line was him believing he was in some anime like any of us would say if we were xd
50:46 She threw the dagger at Reinhard, but he has projectile protection so it just bounced
Reinhard is truly something special …
33:00 DEADPOOL MOMENT XD
