- Modnic a female tiger who was rescued in 2007 from Savage Kingdom in Florida, undergoes surgery to remove cancerous tumors. (*Some graphic scenes of surgery are shown) Big Cat Rescue is thankful to our volunteer vets: Dr. Liz Wynn, DVM and Dr. Tammy Miller Michau, DVM, MS, MSpVM, DACVO.
Savage Kingdom was a breeding facility in Florida that was closed down by the USDA in 2006. Modnic along with three other tigers, TJ, Bella and her sister Trucha were rescued by Big Cat Rescue. Savage Kingdom was featured in an episode of Animal Planet's "Fatal Attractions" in 2011, documenting the attacks by tigers on workers at the facility.
BIG CAT TV is a close look into the wild cat conservation efforts we support, and the exotic feline residents of Big Cat Rescue who we now support at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Big Cat Rescue is a registered non-profit 501c3 so your donations are tax deductible.

It's a shame for any living being to have cancer and deal with the pain. But luckily there are talent individuals like the team here who helped remove Modnic's tumors. I'm so glad to see such care, and equally glad to hear the Modnic is doing well. :)

The energy in her eyes and her body language after the surgery was so evident.😊 I had multiple ligament tears in my left knee and after months of painful physiotherapy when I was finally able to jog and sprint again I felt a sense of rejuvenation it somehow amazes me how similar animals are to us emotionally.
Oh she's absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad that she's better and feeling well again! 💓

I would love to do volunteer work for big cats. They are so fascinating to me, and I hope they can stick around for many years to come. They're simply amazing.

JakeTheRakeCake Ω There are animals that were rescued from life-long captivity. They don't know how to survive in the wild because they've never lived there. They didn't have parents to teach them because the cubs are taken from the mothers and sold for entertainment. They would die.
So I'm taking this means you have zero veterinary and wildlife expertise then.
