  • I've been professionally training as a musician since sixth grade and didn't know I was disabled until tenth. But disability impacted my voice training way more than I even realized way back when. So today we're going to talk through my vocal journey, what I wish I knew in retrospect, and how I managed to figure out how to get the sound(s) I wanted in an accessible way.

    Hello my dears!
My name is Sydney and I’m an actor/singer-songwriter who writes music about my experiences being autistic, disabled, gay, gender fluid and in general, a human. My goal is to fill musical gaps and write about things people often forget to make music about. I’m also a vintage enthusiast and disability advocate (among other things). And, most importantly, my favorite color is buttercup yellow :)

I could just *feel* your excitement and the way you sort of sunk into your voice during "the wizard and I" !!! So incredible to see it click for you. I've had moments like that where all of a sudden your voice just feels Good and there's nothing more wonderful than letting it soar. :)

Hi! I love your videos, but I've noticed a few times you've said POTS is a blood pressure issue, which it's not! I have pots too and the main issue is heart rate, aka tachycardia, it's in the name! I see this misinfo about pots going around a lot and I just want people to have the right information. Orthostatic hypotension is very similar to pots in symptoms but the issue for that is blood pressure, theyre different conditions!

Hi, any tips for building singing up again as had to take a number of years off due to health and relearn to breath through my diaphragm as my abdominal surgery really messed this up. also how to not get dizzy singing? do I need a vocal coach or can I teach myself, I'm not looking for professional standard just decent.

Wait …. but do you have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome ? It’s so common with all of the other conditions that you listed as having a disability diagnosis. Yet often overlooked as the baseline contributor to all of those other “wonderful” things.
Yes a lack of proper diagnosis can leave you or me or anyone an entire mass of dysregulation and gaslighting and just trying to exist despite all things undiagnosed.
Just a curiosity have anyone considered… hyper-mobile EDS? Google the algorithm for Ehlers Danlos syndrome Maso activation syndrome pastoral orthostatic tachycardia and the link to autism and a few things pop up that just recent researches time these all together up like a nice little bow of aha…
It’s a rabbit hole. I deep One have fun little rabbit

I have a video about EDS/hypermobility! My situation is really complicated but statistically, even if I am on the fence with the various hypermobility tests as to whether I "pass" or not, I have EDS lol
