She humiliated me in front of my other professors and classmates during my thesis defense. She said I didn’t deserve a graduation certificate. I just stood up there, let her finish, and went on my presentation. I didn’t cry, but that was really painful. I promised I would prove her wrong. Now, here I am abroad, teaching.

Back when I was younger, I used to listen to this song - it got me through a lot of rough times. I didn't always believe the words, but I would sing along and think of when I'd be "big enough so they couldn't hit me". On a whim, almost ten years later, I come back here, and... I made it. I graduated from college, moved across the country from my podunk hometown, and I'm living in the 'big old city'. I don't know where the people who used to bully me ended up, but I can certainly imagine some of them in bars yelling at the TV. And I just wanted to tell anyone finding this song now, or who's going through rough times, that it does get better, that someday you WILL be living in that big old city, knowing all your bullies will ever be is MEAN.

This video remembers me of my fourth and fifth grade. When the girls who were my friends became popular. They started hanging out with “miss popular” who, when I was asking her if I could be her friend, was always answering no and was making fun of me. When everybody at my elementary school was talking behind my back and running away from me. When I wasn't talking to anyone. When I thought that if I left this world, nobody would care. My dog saved me. Two years ago, I had to give her away because she was destroying things in my house. When the only friends that I had were my family. Every time people ask me how I am, I'm just answering that I'm fine even if that's a lie. I can't believe that, even if I'm surrounded by people, I'm still feeling alone. Taylor saved me (I even named my cat after her). She keeps me in this world even when I want to leave it. Every time I'm having dark thoughts, I look at the picture she signed me and think about the autograph that she will sign me and my tears switch for a smile. I was the victim of the bullying... once when I was a little kid, and it lasted until I turned 15. I remembered it was 2009 when I swore to myself, I will be on abroad for my bachelor degree and I will be admitted to the one of the best university in the world... and five years after... my dreams come true... now I heard about the one of them who bullied me when I was kid, he became nothing.... except an asshole who makes 3 girls are pregnant.... This video remembers me of my fourth and fifth grade. When the girls who were my friends became popular. They started hanging out with “miss popular” who, when I was asking her if I could be her friend, was always answering no and was making fun of me. When everybody at my elementary school was talking behind my back and running away from me. When I wasn't talking to anyone. When I thought that if I left this world, nobody would care. My dog saved me. Two years ago, I had to give her away because she was destroying things in my house. When the only friends that I had were my family. Last year, a big feud in my family made that there's people I love I don't see anymore. Like my grand uncle. He was the only one who could make me laugh when I was crying while my parents were fighting against each other in court. That's just an exemple. My grandmother, grand uncles, grand aunts and my great grandmother don't seem to see how it's affecting me and everyone who is innocent in this fight. Every time people ask me how I am, I'm just answering that I'm fine even if that's a lie. I can't believe that, even if I'm surrounded by people, I'm still feeling alone. Taylor saved me (I even named my cat after her). She keeps me in this world even when I want to leave it. Every time I'm having dark thoughts, I look at the picture she signed me and think about the autograph that she will sign me and my tears switch for a smile.
