Flying to Cheat River and getting a puppy!

- Last weekend was a lot of fun. Shannon and I got a puppy that we adopted through Lab Rescue, and I flew to Cheat River Island spring fly-in. As always Cheat River was an absolute great time and we are excited to have a puppy!

Nice puppy! Tried to get into Cheat Sat afternoon. I flew over and asked about the ceilings, they said a flight of two had just come in. I flew up to 2G4, shot an approach to minimums and couldn't see a thing. Diverted to MGW and it was 700 overcast with a big mountain between me and Cheat. Not being that familiar with the river basin I decided to go back home to JYO. I'll try again in Oct. Looked like a good time and everyone got a free plane wash!
Aww man, hopefully you can make it in the fall. It stayed pretty low all day Saturday unfortunately.
Woodstock VA! My 2nd home! I go there for a long weekend every year for the Old Dominion 100 Mile Endurance Run which is actually next weekend.
Do you have a connection at Burner or did you just reach out to them? I’ve been wanting to find a close, convenient place to fly into.
Great video! Unfortunately the weather coming from further west didn’t cooperate for the fly in this time, but hopefully I’ll be there in Oct.
