    This solo is from Alcatrazz's 1984 live in Tokyo cover of 'Rainbow's song 'Lost in Hollywood' originally released back in 1979 on their fourth studio album 'Back to Earth' with Graham Bonnet on the vocals.
    Guitar is tuned to E standard just like on the original recording.
    Tabs are included on screen.

    I love both Blackmore and Yngwie. Usually i prefer Blackmore. But in this one solo, gotta give it to Yngwie. Your rendition were very accurate, things missing are strats, gold chains and leather pants 😂. You rock man!

      Thanks Mike, yeah it's a 'Rainbow' cover and actually 'Alcatrazz's singer Graham Bonnet was the singer in 'Rainbow' when they did 'Back to Earth' album from which 'Lost in Hollywood' is, so I guess that's one of the reasons they decided to do this great cover, cheers my friend!

    Are you going to make Alcatrazz with Joe Stump Solos? They are making a new Alcatrazz album 2021 coming out next month. Joe Stump has a lot of solo album you can make video solo lessons on which will help out a lot. Joe Stump is very influenced by Richie Blackmoore and Yngwie so making video lessons will help learn Joe Stumps neoclassical style. There are about 10 or more albums on youtube for free to listen to by Joe Stump

      Joe definitely has a lot to offer in terms of really cool licks so I might do some of his solos when I find the time, btw hope you like that tapping sequence in 'Lost in Hollywood' I know you like that style :) Cheers!

    Wow, appreciating this... .and all for free! But, I wonder if lick 5, tab 1/4 (and the other similars) really goes like 8h-12e-7e instead of 8h-7e-12e-7e skipping the 7'th fret in the middle of the arpeggio? IMHO is easier to think like this: either play arpeggio on 3 strings or 2 strings. I admit that I haven't done that deep analysis as you.
    Cons: why repeat the sequences and tabs? Anyway have to stop the video and rewind (for 10x times or more :-).

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks man! I double checked and on the live recording that's how Yngwie plays it. However, you can play it like you said and it's gonna sound just fine because the thing is this song is actually a 'Rainbow' cover that Alcatrazz played on stage and that arpeggio part of the solo is played on a keyboard (on the original recording) so there's a trade of between Blackmore's guitar solo and keyboard solo, so you can definitely play around with that arpeggio . The reason why I repeat sections is so people can focus on tabs without having to constantly rewind the lick. Anyway thanks for the comment it's great that you took interest! Here's the link to OG recording, the solo starts at around 2:48 min. Cheers!:) ua-cam.com/video/mRLHHftZEJA/v-deo.html

    Great job. Do you have any of your tabs written up or in Guitar Pro format? I would love to see more of these Yngwie and others and add to the archive collection I'm also making if you're interested in (currently has every available tab of Yngwie's ordered by album from sites like UG).

      @@chasingfrets Do you use it or any similar program? It's very handy. I have a download archive ready if you'd like. It has everything to get started and the 20,000 tabs that have been painstakingly put together. This is the archive I'm working on building and hoping to get to 50k (and will be over 100k with some older tab archives). By the way, I was just admiring some of your other videos like this one: the playing and tone is sublime, well done - you don't hear it done that well very often. Let me know if interested. I'd be happy to pay towards your work.

      @@dom1483 Thanks I appreciate it, I use TuxGuitar for writing tabs, it's a very basic program and then I photoshop the screenshots of the tabs into small sections you see on screen. The tab program I use doesn't support the PDF format so I would have to re wright the tabs in some other program, maybe one day when I have all the tabs put together I'll contact you and we'll see , so I'll keep your proposal in mind, cheers!

      Is there somewhere else that might be a bit better we can talk? Reddit? I'll still be around here either way. But I wanted to show you the archive and you can get the earlier version of GP from there which is still used by a lot of people today and is ideal in a lot of respects. With that you can also import TUX files so no need to re-write it completely, maybe a few edits here and there. You'll also see 19 albums by Yngwie that are mostly complete (under Album collections>>Legendary players>>virtuosos), but that will give some areas of focus for tabs/solos missing that need to be worked on next. But more live Alcatrazz would be great too of course. Some people have said they'll donate to my project but I don't want any of the profits: I'll pass them on to tabbers like you so we have more material if you're up for it.
      Here's the archive direct link (it needs some editing as some things were done last minute, sorry): drive.google.com/file/d/1naUqjRnnbKsuw_Xu6scF3nNmg1hOkIns/view?usp=sharing
      But if you wanted to check background info or contact me there, here is my Reddit where I posted the same archive link: www.reddit.com/user/H3ndr1xx
      I'd also recommend Go PlayAlong 4 where you can open audio files (i.e. the song in question) along with tabs in GP and other format and it will play the tab synced up to the song. Things are coming a long way in the guitar learning world and I'd hope we can keep the momentum going!
