- Gordon Ramsay is a world-renowned Scottish chef, with several Michelin stars to his name. Ever since opening his flagship restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, he has shot to the top of the culinary scene and is perhaps the most famous chef in the world. He is certainly the most famous chef in America that's for sure! But with his mainstream fame, he has decided to open a string of Gordon Ramsay casual restaurants and Gordon Ramsay fast food restaurants, such as Gordon Ramsay Burger, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, Gordon Ramsay Steak, and now, the latest brand in the Gordon Ramsay restaurants group, Gordon Ramsay Plane Food.
Ever since its inception with the Gordon Ramsay Plane Food London Heathrow Airport, Gordon has since opened a second location, the Gordon Ramsay Plane Food Hong Kong Airport location. I knew I had to try it to see if the restaurant really lived up to his name and his reputation. After all, it's a restaurant specifically catered to airport passengers, how good could Gordon Ramsay airplane food really be? We find out in this episode of UA Eats!

I really appreciate your detailed and specific reviews about what you liked/didn't like in the food. Have a safe trip home! Look forward to more reviews from you of NYC restaurants!
Thank you! I had a great time abroad but I'm ready to get back in the swing of things reviewing NYC spots!
I think you waited too long to eat the risotto. That is the reason why the exterior was dry.
💯 Gotta eat risotto the moment is served while its still hot
I fear it is obvious that was never a proper Italian risotto to begin with, even the rise used seems questionable. OK burger is not OK with the title Gordon Ramsey, so he should be yelling at himself, for once. Also, what is the excuse at an airport for not properly preparing the ingredients? Very sad.
@@moaziz23 You also gotta prepare it properly. You can see the dish arriving, and the fact that it is not creamy in texture even then. Oh, dear, or perhaps something else, as Gordon would say.
Nearly $20 usd for a bowl of rice in cream of mushroom soup....I miss the Saboten pork cutlet shop that used to be there. 😢
He did the same thing in another video with a mac and cheese. Obviously the risotto had to be eaten first.
Well done UA, I first saw your video yesterday about Peter Luger and was highly captivated by your honest, detailed review. Can you review the legendary Berns Steakhouse in Tampa soon? And if you go there, make sure to save room for the dessert room, yes there are two restaurants in one so you'll be floored when you get there!
Thanks for joining the premiere! And people seem to really enjoy the Peter Luger vid! If I ever make my way down to Tampa I will definitely add it to the list, it looks great
U.A. Thanks again for an entertaining review. That burger that you had could have been a great sandwich by ditching the burger, and leaving it a short rib sandwich! Cheers!
I agree. The short rib was quite good and had potential
Of course its dry, dude ate the burguer frst, like wtf lmao. Risotto first, fries, and then burguer.
Great as always safe travels
I like your videos, but please don't use clickbait titles. You make solid reviews you don't need it.
Tbf all of his biggest videos have been clickbait titles I don't blame him
You're right. Wasn't necessarily trying to clickbait, just inject some enthusiasm. I've taken the feedback to heart though and have changed the title
@AlexG1020 I don't "blame" him, but clickbait will generate viewers that look for sensation. If you want to build a channel with a loyal following that appreciates your content for the quality, then you don't need that.
But of course, a good title helps.
@@uaeatsdon't worry UA as long as you don't start supporting Xi Jianoing we trust you
I'm a head chef of 29 years and what you have to remember is these celeb chefs is they just prositute their name out, they have zero input or anything to do with the concepts
From my experience most celebrity chef restaurants are on the bland side. There can be some amazing dishes but over all the flavors tend to be neutral to not offend anyone. Thus, a lot of the dishes are nothing special even if the ingredients are exotic and daring.
While you were there, you should have tried the hong kong style cafe’s food such as baked pork chop on fried rice, or hk beef brisket curry
UA, What does UA as your name stand for? Your first and last name initials? Curiousity is killing me!
love it. nice one, UA
Thanks!
I feel like the London Heathrow location in the airport is a lot more outstanding. This one in Hong Kong looks more like upgraded food court food.
While the London Heathrow location is a full on fancy restaurant.
Those are just regular french fries. British style chips are wide and thick. Also, not sure what airports you've eaten at in Asia, but the ones I've eaten at in Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, KL, Taipei, Shanghai etc have some of the best food I've ever had. Even Michelin Star restaurants. Airport food in Asia isn't like the States.
I guess you shouldn't expect much from airport food. Surprisingly, I had good BBQ at DFW in Texas. I hope you reviewed the airline food on your vacation. 😁👍
Airport food in Asia isn't like America. It's much better quality in Asia. They have Michelin star restaurants AT the airport in Singapore.
This gentleman is 🔥.
Respectfully
Safe travels my friend!
Thanks! Back safe and sound now
@@uaeats Welcome back!
"People on Hells Kitchen seem to mess up Risotto a lot, for some reason" - It's infamously hard to cook, you can NOT rush it, which is hard in the food service industry.
True but most people in the general public have no idea what risotto is. Even many Italian Americans have no idea. So if it tastes ok to an inexperienced risotto eater the person is not going to criticize it.
Trader Joe's has frozen mushroom risotto that's not anything like home cooked but it's tasty for like $4
Err... the Asian food vendors in the Hong Kong Airport sell delicious food. Not kidding, better than most in North America. You totally wasted a meal by eating at Gordon's stand.
I had congee and the wonton noodles at one of the restaurants there it was the best wonton noodles I've had. I wish I actually went to HK for them but I'll get what I can take
@@saber1229 I agree. That's why I made original comment.
Try the Caviar bar at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in France.
Let's say this, no one has cattle like the USA but, Argentina and Japan are the exception. Wolfgang Puck also has an airport restaurant, which BTW sinks. You did not say if they COOK this on the spot?
💜
Ramsay " i dont want my food to look like lizard head!!!"
Everyone "???"
You're calling it R and R ... For Rest & Recovery .... Back in
NAM We called it R and I for Relax & Intersource.
Thanks for the video.
Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!
I see you're using the 144 hour visa free transit! Smart!
I see Gordon hasn't elevated the plastic spoon.
Why don't you just add salt to your food to enhance the flavor? They probably cooked the food in a way to give people a choice to add more seasoning. Your complaints are not necessary.
You have to come to Japan sometime man. Airport food might blow you away.
I've been to Japan before and have had an incredible time. I definitely plan to go someday for some food vids!
Safe travels!
The restaurant is called plane food ..you expected a flavorful burger 🤣🤣
I had wild salmon fish and chips in Seattle airport 🔥
Spicy food is delicious
Ramsay trying it would pull it apart and make it even more unpalatable , like he does trying out restaurants
I stood waiting for my fish and chips, I could see one of the kitchen staff helping himself to the chips on the plates in the kitchen. Hygiene not high on the menu.
Not bad for airport food and of course you're not going to get a burger medium pink to your liking Fry's look good though and yes the risotto could have been a lot more wet good thing you didn't take it on the plane with you and waited until you were at 10,000 ft it would have been sushi rice by then LOL and of course everyone knows when you're in an airport or at a stadium the food is a huge huge rip-off price wise it's just part of your trip it's vacation no matter where you eat you already expect to pay more c'est la vie
The food looks like it was precooked and reheated.
That's cuz it was, gotta pay extra to have it heated
I would have removed the burger patty then eat the thing.
subscriber from Hong Kong *wave*
Hi!
The bread looks like soggy mushroom .
Hong Kong is expensive!
Burglar and fries
The burger looked like fecal matter.
Gordon Ramsay Plane Food isn’t an entirely new concept. The first restaurant at London Heathrow opened way back in 2009 it’s just the HK Airport branch opened just recently.
Interesting. Though I googled and the UK location doesn't have good reviews
21 dollars?.. Watch me walk right by that restaurant, and ask for extra packs of honey roasted peanuts on the plane…😵💫
In other words you're broke!? 😆
In other words you still have the first $5 bill you made LOL😢
@@KevinSmith-fw5tb Hardly.. I’m not broke because I’m smart enough to know spending over 20 bucks on already questionable food in an airport is not a good thing…Hence my extremely pleasurable bank account…😜.. You probably hit overdraft every month..
@@johnkovalicky3389 Not the first, but enough to not worry about paying my bills, and eating food worthy of my funds…which doesn’t include a Gordon Ramsey airport burger..🤭.. I get UA ate there for content, but on a good day, I’m pretty sure he would have saved that money, and waited for a nice steakhouse in NYC..13 bucks for reheated risotto?.. Gimme a break.. that portion size?.. ridiculous..
@@edreid7872 dude we got that it's the airport the food is ridiculously priced what do you do make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the fight come on now
Its only good as the service and 5he owners of the franchise being honest to qulity and stanards .not to bad there could be way worse. 👍🇦🇺
Oh this is in Hong Kong, should be dope..should be fire
Anything other than well done with a burger is a health risk.
cornucopia
UA must not have been born in the USA or is very negative. He keeps using the word scam wrong. If you got something in return for paying that’s not a scam. No one is intentionally deceiving you.
I starred out likening this channel but I don’t think this guy has what it takes to be a big time UA-camr. He’s very negative and overly opinionated. Look at his abysmal in-n-out review. It was so bad he gaslite fans for not liking it.
Scam doesn't mean what you think it does. Maybe use another word
I Cant wait my chinese friend
he is a new yorker i think lol
With a plot twist he could be Mexican
UA, i'm curious, is this channel a hobby & you have a full time job where you travel a lot, Or, is this your full time job? either way, fully jealous and well done
It's a side hustle for now, but I hope to go full-time someday!
I tried this restaurant for breakfast, I was so disappointed. Supermarket taste and so pricey!!
Overpriced. That burger was over cooked. Risotto a fail . If gordon ate there he would be disappointed.
From my experience most celebrity chef restaurants lean on being snake oil con artistry. It can be good but a lot of it is mediocre
I agree. It was not up to his normal standards. Though I also wonder if it was made to suit local Hong Kong tastes
Be careful with your travels.
Looked all not good at all and I do not call this a risotto or burger. Sorry for you
It definitely was a little disappointing
