That's disappointing to read. I was a server all through college and was happy to give customers my honest opinion instead of trying to pad the bill, so I could get a bigger tip. I got good tips anyway because I was honest and they appreciated it. Says a lot about you,
On grass fed vs corn fed: corn fed doesn't need to be aged as long as grass fed does in order for it to taste good. Aging grass fed beef is crucial for the taste, if its not aged long enough it is tough and gamey. When grass fed is aged properly (aged longer) it becomes rich, deeper in flavor, and delicious.
Great video, UA. I think they have table size Service for the Caesar salad. You were wondering what was in the Caesar dressing that made it taste so good. You may or may not have had anchovies in your Caesar salad before. The anchovies make, or break a Caesar salad dressing. If the anchovies aren’t in the Caesar dressing, then something is missing, you will notice that taste that something is off, but you can’t place what it is.

Looks like one of those serious old steak houses that toast their own croutons for their salads, the fact that they make the salad at the tableside is always a good sign. I probably would have tried the French onion soup, you can tell a lot about a place from their French onion soup also, and I would have thought they would have had cheesecake or cannolis. This was a great video, nice solid review, thanks and please keep them coming.
Nice review UA. I'm really surprised that you don't like prime rib, seeing how much you like rib eye. That's usually my go to. I guess it must be the sear. You seem to be big on that. I'm always hollering at my tv, "try the prime rib, UA, try the prime rib!". I would have gone for the french onion soup also.
Golden Steer was also an infamous mobster hangout. When you go in, with all of that red velvet, raised leather booths, servers in suits, etc. it does take you back in time, and you can totally picture the scene back in the day. The food was outstanding when my wife and I ate there about 30 years ago (a NY was about $25 or so as I recall).
When my best friend spent a week in Vegas around 2019 My hotel was next door to this WONDERFUL restaurant. The food was INCREDIBLE. Next time I go to Vegas, I will 100% go again!!
Supposedly. And gravy was very important. And that steak better be well done, as in burnt, and those taters better be creamily whipped. Though maybe he liked baked potatoes and fries too?

You know not a bad idea! I actually did some hotel reviews in the early day of this channel. It would probably only be worth it for nicer hotels, but maybe if I make many trips to Vegas I can stay at a different hotel on the strip every time and review it
Excellent review. That Caesar salad was perfect. I could tell just by looking at it. So glad you got two cuts. I only wish you had done one side and one dessert. That would have completed a wonderful perfect steakhouse review. But I’m enjoying you more and more !!
Looks amazing I need to venture off the strip and try this place. Thanks for the review. I recently had a dry aged ribeye at the new Ocean prime restaurant and it was great.
UA the even sear you're referring to doesn't usually come from a cast iron or flattop, because the meat often raises up while cooking so you don't get 100% contact with the cooking surface. High end steak houses often use expensive broilers called salamanders that can get up to 1500 degrees that gives it an even sear and the trademark broiled flavor.
I didn’t realize this was down the street from me until today, then I literally just saw your video right now. I’m on Desert Inn by the Sphere and am gonna try to stop in one day.
OK....it's not just you....a lot of people make the same mistake. You were eating a RIB steak, NOT a RIBEYE steak. RIBEYE steak is a BONELESS RIB steak. You're welcome! Cheers!
Are you thinking of Rosewood Grille? With the picture of the dude in the tuxedo with the red bow tie holding up a gigantic lobster. I remember seeing that picture a lot in the late 90s/early 2000s at bus stops in Vegas lol. They had a location across from what was then the Monte Carlo (now Park MGM).
I have eaten great steak in more than 20 countries including the US - but the best steak I've ever had was at the legendary Spanish Garden Restaurant (SGR) at the Breakfast Creek Hotel in Brisbane, Australia. I've eaten here several times over the years and they've specialised in all cuts of steak for around 90 years. Their fillet mignon is the tenderest, juiciest and most flavoursome I've ever had. The vibe at this place is lively and the ice cold beer they serve from the keg at the bar is a perfect accompaniment to their heavenly steaks.

McWilliams' original Las Vegas Townsite, lay behind a "cement curtain" barrier across the railroad tracks from Fremont Street. In the late 1950s, the conditions in the town hadn't changed much since McWilliams' time, and the ten square block area stood in stark contrast to the glamorous resorts of the Strip. The Westside had neither running water, nor working sewage lines, nor paved streets."

@stephenfisher3721 . They didn't call Vegas "Mississippi in the Desert" in those days for nothing.
I live in Las Vegas. I've traveled the world, been to hundreds of steakhouses. Golden Steer is top 5 steakhouse for sure. No doubt about it. Vegas has another really good steakhouse, called STK at the Cosmopolitan hotel.
I know the Ribeye is kind of THE cut for steak lovers and I do love it, I just love the filet more.
My last meal would definitely be steak au’poivre.
The salad was so good his eyes opened up
For those prices it better be good. Did they change a resort fee?
that steak looks BUSSIN'!
Golden Steer and Sparks are my favorite steakhouses in the US
Two very good choices!
I have I ate there a year ago in the Caesar salad is beyond amazing it's literally the best one I've ever had in my life. There's sauce is on another level so is their steak and lobster
UA with the Ceasar Salad haircut 💇♂️.
My father was a master chef worked at all the best restaurants in New York purse, Spain, Seville everyone? And yes, Frank Sinatra preferred the ribeye.
"three-course menu starting Dec. 1 dedicated to the dishes the Chairman on the Board regularly ordered while he when he dined at the restaurant in the 1960s. Frank's Menu, available until Dec. 31, puts guests at Table 22, Sinatra’s regular table with room for four. Guests dine on clams casino baked with white wine, bacon, diced red and yellow peppers and bread crumbs; a 16-ounce New York strip steak with sautéed diced tomatoes, garlic and white wine, served medium rare like he ordered it; bananas Foster served table side flambéd; Jack Daniels served with three fingers of Jack and two ice cubes, as Sinatra ordered it"

So glad you can do this full time now. Love your videos. Ribeye and caesar is one of my favorite meals, looks so good 👍
You know you did a great job with your review when your vid made me hungry👍👨🍳
I could taste it while watching this video... Thanks
Yes. Was just there. I took my kids. Was phenomenal
Clearly this is a man that loves his steak!
YESSS best reviewer on UA-cam. So detailed
He gives a real down to earth review. I have never been steered wront by UA. Gallaghers and Best Bagel and coffee, and Joes Pizza in NYC.
When my best friend spent a week in Vegas around 2019 My hotel was next door to this WONDERFUL restaurant. The food was INCREDIBLE. Next time I go to Vegas, I will 100% go again!!
Great stuff 👍🏿
Went there in October. Superb.
I am so glad when you have a great experience.
ELVIS DIDN'T EAT SALAD JUST STEAK AND POTATOES
Supposedly.
And gravy was very important.
And that steak better be well done, as in burnt, and those taters better be creamily whipped.
Though maybe he liked baked potatoes and fries too?
@@resa.waltersElvis def knew how to eat
loving your vids UA. I'm glad you're able to do this full time now. Looking forward to more reviews especially in Vegas.
I need "why don't we" shirt in my life. Keep up the great work brother.
This dude's food faces gives Wark Wiens a run for his money . LOL
I had been flying out to Vegas several times a year since 2003 up until last year and I never went to this place. My old school dining spot in Vegas was Battista's, but I might have to take another trip and be sure to try this joint.
Been going to Vegas for vaca since 2000 and have been to Battistas a couple times . Definitely s time warp , but its really a tourist trap joint for me . Nothing special about the food and of course way overpriced. Try Alder n Birch over at the Orleans!!! Awesome surf n turf and wont break the bank.. happy travel's!!!
@@johnkovalicky3389 I agree. The food isn't that fantastic, but the atmosphere is beautiful. Thanks for the recommendation, though. I think I've only been at the Orleans once.
@@serialclone check that restaurant out next time. And if ya like Chinese you must check out Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast Casino it's rite next to the Rio! Chao
His Robert De Niro impression is spot on
Long time lurker first time commenter. So glad you are able to eat there at Golden Steer. That is on my bucket list! Thanks for the video! Hey since you are able to travel more, why not review your hotel stays too? Thanks! Good luck! 😊
You know not a bad idea! I actually did some hotel reviews in the early day of this channel. It would probably only be worth it for nicer hotels, but maybe if I make many trips to Vegas I can stay at a different hotel on the strip every time and review it
Wow that thing was perfectly cooked consistently throughout.
I am a little disappointed that you did not get the garlic bread
Excellent review. That Caesar salad was perfect. I could tell just by looking at it. So glad you got two cuts. I only wish you had done one side and one dessert. That would have completed a wonderful perfect steakhouse review. But I’m enjoying you more and more !!
Please don’t close your eyes when it tasted delicious…
Yes the face he made it was like he just finished on her back !🤣🤣🤣
Looks amazing I need to venture off the strip and try this place. Thanks for the review. I recently had a dry aged ribeye at the new Ocean prime restaurant and it was great.
Yeah it's a bit of a trek to get there if you're not a local, but I think it's worth it
UA the even sear you're referring to doesn't usually come from a cast iron or flattop, because the meat often raises up while cooking so you don't get 100% contact with the cooking surface. High end steak houses often use expensive broilers called salamanders that can get up to 1500 degrees that gives it an even sear and the trademark broiled flavor.
Too bad they didn’t prep the Caesar salad in front of you. They make the dressing from scratch.
I have the dry-aged ribeye every year. Ceasars salad and cherries jubilee. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.
The flip flop mole . Mirroring 😑😑. Good review though 👍👍
Yesss, call me really old school, but imo, corn fed beef tastes the best.
Imma have to try this place someday!
Servers always recommend the most expensive stuff, lol.
I saw Elvis there last week.
That looks a little over cooked . Looks like medium.
Cheers!
Tell that to the restaurant
That waiter upsold you good! She earned her tip bonus tonight! LOL
So I guess no money is being invested in the exterior of the restaurant..
Good heavens…..
it is in a strip mall so no lol
EST. 1958. The original exterior is part of its retro appeal. If they ‘updated’ it, it would be a disaster.
@@bjammin187 Excellent point.
you look angry AF each time u take a bite LOL
Is that the same steakhouse that’s known for the huge lobsters 🦞?!
