How To Make Fallout Nuka-Cola Quantum | National Video Games Day

- Опубліковано 11 вер 2015
- Today, in order to celebrate National Video Game Day, we wanted to make the famous Nuka-Cola Quantum from the popular Fallout series. We are excited about Fallout 4 and wanted to make that incredible glow in the dark drink: Nuka-Cola Quantum. Now, in the game the drink gets its glow from radioactive material... not exactly something we want to try and do! However it turns out that with ordinary tonic water you can get the same results!
Forgot to mention:
You need to buy tonic water with the ingredient quinine or it won't glow.

I want this for my last meal... And with the radioactive isotope to make it immersive.
BudgetSquid0 lol
Yeah
It's all fun and games until your hair starts to fall off
Result: 💀⚰️
@@empireofgreatjanggeo7888 it's a last meal anyway
And add a drop of blue food coloring for optimal effect even if not under UV light!
A better alternative to lemon-lime soda, I think, would be Mtn. Dew Voltage. It has that same nice, deep bluish purple color, and it even mildly glows under blacklight.
+Andrew Caver That's a great idea! We will have to try that out!
Is it safe to drink?
@@thaddeuskyle572 No
When will someone make glowing drinks that won't kill you.
I can't wait to make this
The isotope in question is strontium-90 found in toothpaste and calcium supplements. It's basically a calcium wannabe.
U mean we are brushing oye teeth with rads?
Do I use the quinine sulphate tablets?
ghostbusters day
Cool... sort of.
The problem is Nuka Cola Quantum uses the same ingredients as Nuka Cola, only adding a few. Like pomegranate, the isotope, some more caffeine and sugar. It is very much a coke-like (or possibly dr pepper) product. Using sprite or 7up as a base.... achieves the visual effect here, but very much misses the mark on taste.
There was a clear Pepsi back in the early 90s you might be able to get your hands on, if you want to go totally authentic, that would be perfect.
That is perfect, and I think Crystal Pepsi is coming back soon.
If you mix milk and Coke it becomes clear and I think it still tastes like Coke
It tastes like crap. Just stick to crystal Pepsi.
what about Mt. Dew Ice with Tonic water and a bit of food coloring? you get the caffeine kick with the blue glow and a refreshing lemon lime taste.
lemon lime? i thought it was lemon blue raspberry
if I went to Target would I still find the nuka cola or is it sold out
Super sold out. Just bought one off of eBay for $50 'S That's your best bet though. Every Target sold out within 2 hours.
Does this guy have Cerebral Palsy? Holy shake and twitch Batman!!!
could something like blue Gatorade instead of water
Does the brand matter for the tonic water? I used a publix brand and sadly, no glow, and yes it contained quinine
+Frankie Denike Hey, you know, I'm not sure if some brands work over others, if it has quinine it should work. One thing that might be the problem though is the type of black light you are using. That is, some black lights are not actually black lights and are actually just dark colored bulbs. If the black light you are using is an incandescent bulb then it doesn't actually put out UV light and the tonic water won't glow. Basically, if the black light is shaped like a regular light bulb that you'd put in something like a lamp then it probably is not the right type. You would, instead, need a fluorescent bulb.
We bought this one from Walmart : www.walmart.com/ip/Lights-of-America-24-Fluorescent-Blacklight-Fixture/16879944
If the black light is not the problem then let me know and I'll try to figure something out about different brands.
Thanks!
This is cool
no homo but i want to hug this man
that's pretty gay...
you lost me a non alcoholic lol... nice idea though might use it for my fallout release party.
+CollectorsEVG Look out for our alcoholic version on crazygnome's channel next week!
looking forward to it, keep up the good work
this is cool!!!
Can someone help me? I tried this at home, however, my tonic water (yes it had quinine) didnt glow as bright as that at all
Were you using an actual black light? Often bulbs are called "black lights" but they just give off a purple glow and those types do not work for this.
More quinine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can aldo mmmmm ake a perk
that can be drink?
How long does it last?
+Lafontaine Good question! Though we are pretty sure that it will keep glowing forever due to the quinine in the tonic water (as long as you have the black light shining on it), we can say for sure that (because we tried it) it will last at least five hours. We drank it after five hours of making it, so our test of how long it can last ended there hahaha! But yeah, it should probably last for a very long time, however it is important to note that if you are adding a lemon lime soft drink to it like we did you should probably drink it soon so it doesn't go too flat.
hm intresting
me like
me want
