Paul, I really appreciate you taking the time to post this video, it answered A LOT of questions for me! I was pleasantly surprised at the brightness of the images from a cheaper projector, even with your ambient light problem. Great video! Thank you very much!
As previously noted put the projector in the front OR if you choose rear projection, put a cutout of some sort in front of the projector (I use a small cemetery scene with tombstones, cut out from poster board or you can even use cardboard...it doesn't have to be colored either), then use the keystone adjustment on the projector to straighten the image.
Paul, thanks for posting this. It gave me the motivation to try out my existing projector and screen that I no longer use for viewing versus looking to buy a bigger/more expensive solution. I think it's going to work out!
Thanks for making this super simple and fun to watch , out of all the videos ive seen , now that I'm getting into projecting yours has been the best one yet , keep them coming.
I ordered the Cinemango 100 on Sunday night (10-18-2020) and got it in 2 days from Amazon for around $102 including tax. Never looked at the instructions but am finding out which buttons on the projector work to bring up the menu for Playback controls. Discovered you need to set the Loop function, found out how to resize the image, set bass & treble, double tap the "OK" button to get it to play full screen.....the only issue I ran into was the SD card reader isn't seeing the card. I may have damaged it because I was expecting the card to have that little bit of recoil you feel when you insert an SD card, but I didn't feel it. I pushed the card in as far as it would go. Had to pry it back out with a knife to get it out. I intended to use USB anyway but I just wanted to test the SD card feature. One setting I didn't find, although I didn't really look for it yet, is the Brightness / Contrast settings. All in all, for the money, it's worth it. Volume controls on the projector itself would have been nice. I had to search for 2 AAA batteries for the remote because the volume was set a little high from the factory.
@@paulcrane8542 Does the USB drive need to be a certain speed and under a certain size? Also, did you need to flip your projector? As I've heard doing that isn't good for 'em. I'd think the vertical AtrmosFX projections should be fine without rotating your projector?
@@raid6994 not my area of expertise. I think any standard USB would be fine, but not sure. I did have to flip my projector vertically, but if I recall correctly it was just for portrait view clips. Standard landscape clips you have the projector sitting normally.
Nice. Great video. I wonder if I can use a different material to project on? Maybe a frost shower curtain? Went to the atmosfx site and they were sold out of the material you used. 😞.
Paul, Thanks for the review. I was going to get another Vankyo projector , but after watching your video, I can get two Cinemango projectors for the price of the other I was going to buy.
Honestly I don't protect it. I have seen some build a wooden box around it. I only put the projector out at night and when it is not raining. So I can't help you much on that one.
@@paulcrane8542 11 months late to the party: but great job! I love that frame as well and man I didn't know Home Depot ever sold anything like this... Wow
That is a good idea and I will try that next year. My concern will be if it continues to project onto anything behind. Only one way to find out. Thanks,
This projector gets the job done pretty well. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
Does it auto replay ? If so how ? I’m looking to do three displays and cover the projectors up because of weather and sticky fingers and want it to be smooth transition. And not having to go outside and rest the unit. Thanks
Yes it is on auto replay. No setting to my recollection, just automatically restarts. I would turn it on for an estimated 30 mins of clips and leave it on for a few hours each evening.
I purchased on ivankyo.com but I don't see it for sale anymore. Google will find other places, but not sure if limited to USA. www.bestbuy.com/site/vankyo-cinemango-100-mini-720p-hd-projector-blue/6440316.p?skuId=6440316&ref=212&loc=1

yes its all down to that illusive bit of giveaway light. lol not much chance of hiding it.. nice video thanks

I know this video is old but I appreciate the time and effort you put into this! Thank you!
Thanks!

Great video thanks for posting it. I picked up two QKK projectors this year and they work great too.

Thank you.. Any transparent fabric should work. A shower curtain might work, but better if behind a window as opposed to outside.

Really cool. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the explanation
@Paul Crane Thank you for sharing this. Shocked how well the picture looks and bright. How do you protect the projector while outside?
Honestly I don't protect it. I have seen some build a wooden box around it. I only put the projector out at night and when it is not raining. So I can't help you much on that one.
Where did you buy the framing? Looks cool!
Home Depot, but they didn't have it for sale this year. I agree and really like it.

I have the same issue with the streetlight at the cornor or my property ..... other than that - nice! Did you build the colums and archway?
Thanks for the comment. The entire archway decoration is from Home Depot. I am not talented enough to build things
I would put the projector in front and hide it with a prop. Then you won’t see the beam
That is a good idea and I will try that next year. My concern will be if it continues to project onto anything behind. Only one way to find out. Thanks,
the house next door has no love
Where did you get the cool cemetery frame thing?
The arch was purchased at Home Depot (Halloween decoration season).

As an example, see my comments shortly after the 3:00 mark. From about 2:40-4:40 is a demo of the auto-loop feature.
My projector won’t auto loop
