I buy used projectors from ebay. I look for ones with either new bulbs or low hours. You can often find decent projectors for $50-75.

I just bought some older $500-1000 projectors on ebay for $30-40. Projectors lose there value quick. Just try to get ones with low lamp hours.

Nice helpful video. Good thing about if you only have ths cheap one is its still good at a distance view, know one will float close anyway .my projector was about 100 pounds, pleased with window projection, please have a look.

If you live anywhere near a major metropolitan area the ambient light will be so high that you really need something over 7000 lumen. I use 7000 lumen projectors at no house on LI and I am ready to take down the local street lights because it just not dark enough. I have a couple of 600 lumen projectors and they are worthless. So many of the great projector mapping houses have pitch black neighborhoods.

Darn!! If you find one with similar specs, for lower cost, it should work. Ebay is a good place to find some good ones.

@@LydieCakes I just bought one off amazon for $59+tax. It has a claimed lumen of 7100. Got pretty good reviews, not the best by no means. It'll arrive by the end of the week. If you want the link, let me know.
Just getting in to this digital decorating. I salvaged a sony VPL-EX100 from the work skip last year and had no real use for it but it seems to work fine. it's 1080p so i'm hoping the quality is going to be good. For something like the pumpkins i'm guessing 1080p will be more than enough resolution. As for a whole house would you recommend 4K or even 8K???

I use a $29 mini projector I think it’s about the size of my palm and it works great for my pumpkins with a usb 🎃 I use the better 2 projectors on my window when I mean better it’s $80 -90... I’m not sure the lumens they are Vankyo I use the usb and they all have remotes. This year I’ll be doing a 3dfx and the ghosts outside in a garden archway. Going to test everything in the next few weeks. I’m testing a dark gray Walmart sheer curtain for the archway.

It depends, although I've found frosted shower curtain works well for low price.
I do use atmosfx's when I want a hollusion effect where you're not supposed to know a screen is there

For my windows, I used transparent plastic table cloth I bought from Party City...10 dollars for a large roll.

For small scenes you can totally do a small and cheaper projector
