They all are exept the manga one😅 the reason they're expensive is because the target market is governments, hospitals and construction industries, they're not games
Your welding technique is new and innovative. Normally you'd actually just want to move the welder slowly along the path, but back and forth like a crayon seems to work just fine in this 1000 dollar simulator.
Speaking as a former forklift operator, the forklift one looked well-done as a training environment. And as others have said, $80 for a company that needs to train operators is nothing. The welding one, though, that looks more like someone ripping companies off a bit, lol. So much more they could have done with it, even with the other comment saying it’s supposed to be paired with a dummy physical tool.
The Welding sim should have pipe Welding, under water Welding all kinds of places and situations for a 1000$ it should be so much more then it is. It's not even a sim really if it was, you would have burned through the metal with inexperience. If that's not possible, it's a game that is crap at best, lol. No wire speed adjustment or amperage. This is as far from a Welding sim as they could get lol. You could literally buy crappy entry level mig tig and stick welder and a plasma cutter for a 1000$ and learn way more hands on experience then this game could ever offer.
Yeah maybe for $150 bucks it would be worth it. Really does look like it can get your skills and technique dialed in but none of the other factors are there making the training pretty silly. Then again, maybe he didn't get to that part because his technique was really bad haha
They have that VR welding simulator at the prison my brother is at to get people ready for jobs when they get out. Probably can charge $1000 for it just because it's being purchased by the state.

Took me years of training and experiences to weld nice without holes for clients. Also you gotta pay for the gas, rods or sticks for the job. Not to mention a decent welding hood and gloves. I could see this simulator for teachers in a welding class kinda just introducing new welders to technique and without the danger of burning yourself or your retinas. But me as veteran welder and a vr gamer? Yeah I'm with you, I wouldn't buy it either lol
The reason these are more expensive programs is because they teach you a trade. They are not for the average person they are meant for people who are trying to learn a specific skill that they can earn money with- some gamer trying to start off with an expert whelmed without even taking any of the training. Obviously it’s not gonna feel worth it for you however, if you’re going to trade school and you want to be a welder because it pays very well. This is probably well worth the money for you… Not every VR experience is meant for gamers

It makes sense for work that involves screens and visual observation, but those games here were probably commissioned by people who are ignorant and idealistic about vr and its capabilities.

Yeah that welding sim looks decent enough to show someone the basics. It shows a speed graph at the end because it’s not like painting. Welding requires repetitive slow precise small movements. If you did just 1 training on there you’d understand.
The welding one is expensive because its supose to be hooked up to a sensor machine and fake handle. To practice welding so schools can show you varibles
As others have noted, 4 of these are not games but rather training sims. The welding one was very disappointing. You didn't know what the end-graphs meant, but the sim should have told you. No way that waving the "torch" the way you did would create a valid weld. The two medical ones were super interesting to me, the medical suite and fetal heart training. It would be great if the app also gave training and later tested you on your knowledge. If they were cheaper I could see gamers and interested folks wanting to try these just to learn something new. Okay, maybe not learn in-depth, but to get an understanding of what's going on. For me it's just interesting to see how the corporate world could use VR for training like this, as usually we are just told that it is happening, but I never get to see an example. Thanks for a "different" sort of VR video.
No to rookie. Because if that games like assassin's creed nexus didnt get sold but sideloaded and because of that they mis income on there Triple A game and they will not be making a Triple A game anymore. So there is that problem. So keep using rookie means getting less developers wanting to invest in good Triple A games
For the welding one if it came with a welding certification then yeah it would be worth it but if it’s just that that is crazy, I would probably call my bank and file a dispute lol
Considering classes cost me 1500 a month for welding college credits included. Id call that a good price if someone is actually able to learn off that. From what I see and my irl welding knowledge it looks like they got something there. The money is probably all in the sim tech I'd have to try it myself.
I think the welding one is priced that way so nobody buys it. A company probably made it to train welders or give them a sort of insight into what they might need to work on with the statistics tracker and said to put it at $999.99, the highest price they could because it wasn't meant to be sold.
Same thing that happens with unreleased products that aren’t supposed to be sold by distributors; yet, they have to set them as $9999.99 to make sure they don’t get placed on shelves or sold before release date.
