Now I wake uo in the morning and he has already released a video liste ing to our music - faster than amazon prime 🥰🤟🙏 🥰 this dude deserves it 💜 much love from germany
I love videos like this! It’s how I first discovered Spiritbox (via Rule of Nines when that came out as a single). And now they’re my favorite band! Videos like this can completely change musical lives
I pulled Future Static and Poltergeist from this, so thanks for that! This is a really cool series, and you should definitely consider fleshing it out some more (it would help to have the band name on screen during the song, for example). This is a fun way to check out some music in the community 🤘
Seeing future static get a mention makes me very happy, i went to a show they opened for but half the band got the spicy cough so the vocalist and one guitarist did a 30 minute acoustic set and made the crowd ballroom dance for a couple song, proper goated shit
just discovered Odeon thanks to you, and they've got a pretty cool sound overall. they remind me a bit of ill niño and Polyphia in terms of melodies and vibe, really good stuff 👍
Thank you, this video reminded me of a band I listened to a few years ago and fell in love with but sadly forgot about them because they're not one of the big bands. After your video, I went to their channel and got these nostalgic-goosebumpsy feelings I haven't had in a while. Also, you should make more of these, there's nothing I appreciate more, than supporting smaller artists. Yeah, and the band is ETERNAL VOID (and the song Element)
Cheers for looking into plagues, they are an amaaing band, im new to their music but im enjoying it, love what plagues have made and cant wsit to see what they have to come
Thanks for mentioning Plagues, Nik! I only discovered them earlier this year, thanks to Spotify recommending them to me. I‘ve listened through their entire discography so far and it was honestly the best thing I could do this year. It’s a perfect mix between clean & harsh vocals and I was blown away by how insanely good Xy‘lothra‘s (the vocalist) voice is. I‘m really excited to see what great things the future holds for Plagues 🕯️🩸
Underrated Aussie Metal Tracks: Lune - Ghost (could classify this as deathcore) Days Like These - Oblivion Heartline - Ten, Delorean The Brave - Desolation Pridelands - The Lake of Twisted Limbs Mirrors - Beneath The Sand, Leave Them Behind,
Thankyou for giving plagues some recognition, they’re my new favourite metalcore band. If you like ghost, sleep token, slipknot then plague’s are perfect for you ❤
Hey Nik! love you videos! Please make more videos like this! Its good to see newer bands/unrated ones gets more appreciated. I highly recommend you to listen to Foreground Eclipse a doujin band from Japan that was created around 2009-2013, that's mainly post-hardcore/metalcore. I suggest listen to the song Escapes from their album Each and Every Word Leaves Me Here Alone. I guarantee you will like them.
proud to see a band from my Country in this video, guys who liked Odeon should taste Axty too, another great band in ascencion on the scene in Brazil ❤️
Syqem - one of my favorite unknown bands that I've been listening to for over 10 years. And they released new album yesterday. Previous one was released in 2012.
There’s a band called Varekai who were around in the late 2000’s and had a solid following in DFW in Texas. They had a CD out and a couple single scattered across different UA-cam channels, but they just put their first EP from 2007 “Tastes Like Cannibals” on all streaming platforms. It is one of the most insane in the pocket groovy metal I’ve ever heard.
Thank you so much for reacting to plagues! It’s so good to hear they’re getting reactions, I’ve been a huge fan for as long as they’ve been around. Thanks again ❤️
I was recommended a band via Spotify and was surprised to say it's been one of my favourite albums. Bloody Kitchen - Sexo is one of my most played songs this year. . Thanks for this video. Definitely need more gems.
Loved the Video, i have 2 suggestions if you ever make another vid like this. Heartless Human Harvest - Destruction Moonshade - Sun Dethroned or God of Nothingness

Great Video! I love discovering underground bands. My favorite underdround Band is Before Breathing and i sadly don't even remember, how i got to know them :(
I’d recommend checking out Lune, from Melbourne, Australia, saw them open for To the Grave, and Thy Art is Murder a couple weeks ago and they blew my mind
I'm new to these so I don't know if it's ever been shown here before, but there's this French band called Eths I really appreciate the earlier works of. Some of their songs have a grandiose sound to them, the vocalist (who is a woman) has a great singing AND screaming voice and often switches between the two, and the lyrics whenever I translate them are very dark and well written. This band has everything I like. I always try to put people onto it whenever appropriate. Good starting songs would be "Detruis moi", "Teratologie" or "Crucifere".
Sybreed is also under appreciated, please listen to Sybreed! They're honestly the best metal band I've come across. Every song in their first album go insanely hard.
I highly recommend checking out Contracts, Empty Vessel, and Weaponize. I had the pleasure of meeting them while shooting the local south jersey and philly scene and these bands were incredible. Empty Vessel actually has a song with Ryan Kirby from FFAK and it’s brutal. Incredible production too
ayy! if you want some more smaller metal bands to check out id try simulation counterfeit, I discovered them pretty recently. The band consists of 2 people and they make some awesome music!
If you’ve never heard of a band called “Malevolent” they sound like Pantera if you’re into that kinda Jam. “Broken glass” and “Higher place” stay on repeat
Nice show! If you do this more often (which would be great) I'd ask for more stylistic diversity regarding that every second band sounded exactly the same. Productionwise.
Before watching I wondered if somehow Poltergeist could end up here, and there it is lol. Very glad they get more exposure, their EP is one of my favorite things this year
To truly grasp the vastness of their unique and intoxicating sound, take a listen to some of their newer tracks, I suggest pledge and hell, this band needs to reach every corner of the world. They are amazing and a complete experience to be had! 🤘🏽🕯🩸

Nik, I love your whole channel and I get that YT kicks your ass for music stuff but please please make a playlist of the songs you listened to for this (if it becomes a series) or link the YT links you listened to cus I can't tell what songs you're even listening to.
This was a blast I’d love to see more like this. Here are some of my favorite bands that I feel are underrated. Gatekeeper and Dark Forest are much lighter than what was shown here but are great. Black Stag Rising is some very good black metal with only around 60 listeners and Celestial Wizard is fun as hell. Another band that is much larger but still very underrated imo is Ne Obliviscaris.
Would love to see Mayflower on this! Totally in love with them. They got around 4k monthly listeners and one of their songs has over 100k listens. I think Nik once watched their song Misery on stream friday.
If you ever decide to do this again, I've got two bands you should check out, since I can never seem to catch your streams. The first is Sarcophilous, who are a blackened prog band (or at least that's what is says online) from Canada. Their best song is Black Wind imo. The second is southeast desert metal, who are a traditional metal band from Australia. Eagle, Rainmaker, and Break the Silence are all pretty good, but the latter is their best imo. Also ACME is a cool Japanese metalcore band
Idk if you've seen them on a previous stream... Evil Scarecrow from the UK are definitely ones to check out! I'd recommend their big songs like Robototron, Crabulon, Blacken The Everything... you'll get what they're about almost immediately XD
Suggestion; Get the songs from twitch stream and then make a dedicated video where you spend a little more time one each song. Take only the smash songs.
Poltergeist sounds sick! Shout out to Darkwater (16k monthly prog metal), their latest album is easily their best so far. Mercenary's one of my favorites and they keep getting better with time, they're at 26k but unfortunately haven't released much music in a while and some of their songs sound a lot worse on Spotify for some reason.
This should be a monthly thing where we find these small bands and share their bangers
