I loved Eric in Troy he was powerful. Loved him in Blackhawk Down. He was chilling in Chopper, Munich & Hulk. I've loved him since Fast Forward & Full Frontal comedy shows on our Aussie TV. Proud of our Aussie Actor.
Eric was always a funny Bloke. I used to know him before he was really famous, and just a local comedy guy on local Aussie TV. He used to ride his motorbike on Sundays with a bunch of guys I knew, which I recall was a Ducati which he bought from his money from doing stand up. We'd end up at a coffee shop in Elwood that was owned by his relatives. He was just a decent, friendly guy, used to love imitating people and would make us all crack up. He was a bit chubby, but when I saw him on Black Hawk Down, I couldn't believe how fit he was. He's an awesome Dude and I applaud him for his hard work and dedication to his craft. It's good to see him successful and happy.

I watched Chopper years ago. It was good. Then yesterday I found it on streaming, and man oh man, even better the 2nd time. What a performance. I'm not used to much aussie slang so I enabled subtitles. Might watch again today lol. Easily in my top 25 movies I'd say. Chopper was a likeable sociopath lol.
It was such an amazing experience watching Eric move from a very funny Aussie skit show comedian to a powerful international serious actor. It was a real wtf? moment. I can remember feeling an immense sense of pride to see a fellow Melbournian step up to, and beyond, the mark.
Even Mark was impressed how Eric played him in the movie...I've watched the movie so many times and I have laugh my head off every time...Thanks Eric..cheers.
Mark handpicked Eric because a dramatic actor could do choppers psychosis but only a comedy actor could capture his charm and funnies. Later he was upset that when Eric won awards he never thanked him for hand picking him.
Watch Eric in a movie he made called the Beast, it's about his car and his childhood mates when they enter a Targa. It's the best and his leadership is so natural and unforced that all of his mates just fall in, in that classic Aussie 6th sense of just knowing who the boss is without a pedestal.
His portrayal of Chopper was absolutely unbelievable. He embarrassed and embodied the character and he deserved way for recognition for how dead on he was on the role.

Then I watched him in Hulk after years of ignoring this iteration of hulk as I always held on to the belief that no hulk film could top Norton's version but what do you know!… I watched Bana's hulk film and it deeply touched me...lot of nostalgic feeling. Since then, I've been hoping that one day Eric Bana will make a comeback in hopefully smthng similar to Deliver Us from Evil. Great Actor 💙💙💙

I met Chopper at the Risdon prison yard at age 6.... He was a mate of my uncle and he visited with us on the Risdon farm visiting yard and gave me his Mambo metal clip strap hat! Cause i was getting sunburnt and he said "Not like i need it" cause he had no ears at that point. Legit story bro. Chopper was a gentleman to me as a kid, despite all the haters.

Used to watch Eric on 'Full Frontal' around,... 93(?) MAN i loved that show. He was ok back then, a bit stiff in his delivery, you could tell he was trying hard to remember his lines, and sometimes slightly mouthing the other actors lines before his turn,... but MAN, with Chopper, he came out swinging with a genuine fully formed talent that other actors live entire lives without achieving. Someone should find another script worthy of his talent, so he can sink his teeth into it and get the gold statue's he deserves.
