I worked on the set of chopper with eric, did not see chopper three days i was there .thought he would come onto the set to show how he did it, but a lot of it was improvised by eric .
There was a caller on a aussie radio show recently (topic of the show was called confessions) that had a great yarn about chop. She was next door neighbour to him for a number of years, and said she never felt safer with him around. One night she was on the front verandah and he was out the front having a smoke, he asked how she was and she said yeah good just hoping I can get some sleep tonight (there was a party down the street) he nodded at her, and she said good night and went back inside. She then saw chopper walking down the road with a cricket bat. The party/noise stopped soon after and he walked back and gave her another nod as she came outside and said good night, sleep well. She said for years, anytime there was a party on the street it was shut down after she got home. Even parties she was going too haha. Her friends said to her it's strange he comes every time after you leave, she denied having anything to do with it for a long time and felt bad for her friends that she never told them but admitted she loved having someone look out for her like that. He is a walking duality this man, but something about him you gotta love.

Chopper was a very funny fella. Putting aside his crimes etc for a moment,.....I'd have loved to have shared a pint and a chat with him. Fascinating fella. Certainly a very rare breed.
The appeal with Chopper was that he had unarguable charisma and charm. He embellished a lot of his stories, but was most definitely still a dangerous psychopath. The man really is engaging and has a wicked sense of humour which does mask the fact he was a bad guy. I could listen to him all day. But I wouldn’t want him round my house.
@@rikijenkins6729 I guess it depends how you look at it. Throughout his life he probably hurt a lot of people. Which I’d say makes him a bad guy. But he’s still got this magnetism. I could listen to him all day. Not sure I’d want him round my friends and family.
I met him in a shop in Collingwood years ago. He walked in just before me. I was a youth worker then and we chatted about a few things. He said he would get the young kids into football and tell them to stay away from drugs. Out on the football field he would see them dealing. He said he became a bit frustrated trying to educate the kids and steer them the right way, and in the end, they just did what they wanted to do. I found him very open and friendly. He gave me his card as i left, and I would show it to people that i knew to see their reaction....LOL

No straight members of the public ever pressed charges, or complained about him, only other crims, So if your in that world, it's a "" live and die by the sword "" life, he just happened to be good at what he did to survive that long and become famous, and which brought so much jealousy and envy from straight go-ers and the crim fraternity, who tried to kill him a few times, but couldn't. He certainly was a character to be remembered
Chopper was undoubtedly a genius, that’s what made him so dangerous. Aside from the whole psychopath thing. Most geniuses have a degree of psychopathy though ….. no one else sees things as clearly as they do so ……

He might have been a nutter, but he had a wicked sense of humour and told a great story!
Haha 😂 bit of character
I don't reckon he was a nutter at all. Ijust think he was courageous to assault or kill very bad people. Thats not psychopathic, its more a survival thing. To me Mark came across as well educated and had a great outkook to life.
@@trep17mag I read he once knocked a guy out, pulled out his eye ball and downed it in a pint, and you tell me this man was perfectly mentally well? Maybe your a nutter too mate!!

Ok good and thanks for that info.xx💕💕💕

@@chrissychaos mopping up stuff like that I guess.
Yeah, I think Mark was misunderstood by a lot of people. They instantly and conveniently label people upon hearing certain things but Mark knew about morals. I wish I could've sat around having a few drinks with him, very entertaining.
More emotion for animals , than drug dealers! Needs an academy award... R.I.P .. CHOPPER! You done Australia proud!!
Done em proud? The man was a complete knob.People like you should have tried living next door to the idiot for a few years.
He might've been a funny bugger at times, but in the end he was just another crim.
He said as much himself.
Nothing to be proud of.
@FANG he was nuts mate.....end of
You're an imbecile.... Didn't do us proud at all.... He was a typical gaol bird bull sh#t artist and even a failure as a criminal hence all the gaol time genius 👍
sounds like my kind of guy.
Chopper was a very funny fella. Putting aside his crimes etc for a moment,.....I'd have loved to have shared a pint and a chat with him. Fascinating fella. Certainly a very rare breed.
He was a local at my local when he moved back from Tassie...rumour had it that he was a member of the 100 pot club after 2 days...
This is the best summary of this man I ever read
He is a good guy.
@@rikijenkins6729 I guess it depends how you look at it. Throughout his life he probably hurt a lot of people. Which I’d say makes him a bad guy. But he’s still got this magnetism. I could listen to him all day. Not sure I’d want him round my friends and family.
@@rikijenkins6729 you're wrong and foolish
I don’t think old chop chops a psycho but you never know eh
I met him in a shop in Collingwood years ago. He walked in just before me. I was a youth worker then and we chatted about a few things. He said he would get the young kids into football and tell them to stay away from drugs. Out on the football field he would see them dealing. He said he became a bit frustrated trying to educate the kids and steer them the right way, and in the end, they just did what they wanted to do. I found him very open and friendly. He gave me his card as i left, and I would show it to people that i knew to see their reaction....LOL

Nicest thing anyone has ever got me. I always wondered why he wrote that, I didn't know the story behind it. Now I know. Thanks for posting this.
I just knew Bana was gonna make it big when I saw him for the first time in this movie.
I can only imagine him in the YeAr tWo thOuSAnd

Eric Banner nailed his voice and accent down to a T
They are ( were in Chopper's case ) both Aussies so there was no accent to learn, but yes, Eric was amazing at Imitating Chopper's voice and mannerisms. There's no way any other actor would have been able to play this role so perfectly.

tHe MeNu absolutely. I couldn’t believe how much he butchered the role.
He missed the mark by trying to add ‘a’ infront of random sentences. Like ‘I didn’t a-do it’.
