works on sdcard but you need to install the launcher on the sdcard as well.
Instead of using the hoyoplay installer every time, just add the launcher to steam after the 1st install. It's located in the same file directory as the games folder

Steam keyboard doesnt work when trying input login info or verification code. The game ans keyboard are in conflict
thanks for this, i did follow and just added the actual exe to steam, but the game runs but when it comes to logging in, i had played on PC and just created and account using the gmail option but for some reason the inbuilt steam browser is not letting me login by saying the browser is not secure and had no way to use the account i had already put hours on. any idea for help?
How do i install it on the SD card?
If I already have genshin installed, with hoyoplay along with it, can I just install it from there? Or will I need to download it from the website.
I didn't see an option for other games, but you can try that first
Is there an exe for just the launcher and not the installer? And can I add that as a non steam game? Surely any updates will still happen as long as there's an internet connection
When I run the game in game mode, it opens up the file explorer and it can’t find the game file

I got mine to work, but now I'm a bit traumatized with ZZZ on Steam Deck lol. After playing for about 10 minutes, the game started to lag like crazy, like below 5 FPS until it completely froze my deck. I powered it off and started it back up but I got stuck on the boot logo. Tried going back to a previous version of my deck and it got locked out too. Had to do the Linux usb bootable to repair files on my deck to get it to work again. Thankfully didn't lose anything but I've been hesitant to play ZZZ on my deck again. 😮💨
anyone have the issue where the hoyoplay launcher is asking for an update everytime you boot up the game? everytime i reinstall the hoyo player launcher, it takes up a bit of storage and its getting annoying :/

No. Make sure your steam is up to date. Might just need to reboot your deck.
Why the text looks pixelated when i open the game from steam os? But when i open the game from linux its looks fine

Unity just crashes completely upon trying to load in to the game. Main menu works fine.
Is there a significant difference between this method and the other published method which makes use of the epic games store launcher? I would prefer not to use that launcher.

No. You can use it through the epic games launcher if you have it installed already via one of the other methods. This is just direct.

How much is the game in GBs? 110?
It is around 56GB if i remember correctly, 110 needed for download + unpacking
Any ideas on why the launcher may not show up when launching it with Proton Experimental? All seems up to date and the exe is 'running' but the launcher doesn't seem to appear when running the exe from steam (Does it just take a long time the first time?)
Restarted steam and it worked (as an FYI!)

I wouldn't run this on an SD card, Mihoyo likes to make their games directly stream assets from whatever drive their on, vs loading them onto RAM like most games, so slower memory (like SD cards) will experience slowdowns anytime a new model loads on screen.
How can i log in via my google account it keeps popping up a alert that its not safe or something
Do it in desktop mode and once it's done you can switch back to gaming mode

I've been playing with this method for about a month on ZZZ, and it can be updated from the Hoyoverse launcher with a single click. Now I'm downloading Genshin Impact. I hope I don't get banned there.@@Tobiasxiv

it is a bit risky running hoyoverse games on the steamdeck in steamOS mode, seen someone on another channel getting banned in hsr
not because it is ilegal but hoyoverse games have some anticheat software that dont work well with linux which can get you banned if that software reports wrong info to the servers as it sees it as you truing to hack the game
HSR doesn’t work on Linux. So that’s why, they are actively circumventing the anti cheat. ZZZ and Genshin do work on Linux.
@@SteamDeckGaming none of the hoyoverse games are officially supported on linux, the guy that got banned managed to get the game to run and it was running just fine, performance wise, its just that he found out the hard way that the anti-cheat was malfunctioning and got him banned, genshin and zzz also work just fine performance wise, but there is no way to check if the anticheat system is working properly to make sure you would not get banned.
I would rather just dual-boot windows to be on the safe side
While that’s true, Genshin was updated a while back to be more compatible, while they don’t officially support it they actively work with a community group to aid its support and that group keep me well informed. I believe zzz is built off the same engine Genshin is. HSR is not and I was told that HSR won’t work due a difference in their anti cheat

Wuthering Waves, no directly, but there are a couple of ways it can apparently I need to check. not come across solo levelling

@@marlow21When I try to install it, it says not enough space even though I have 117GB free. Backing out & in still gives me the same issue as in the video
@@Eufeion It checks the size of the "drive" you select, not the path since windows and linux works different with drives. You can fix this by launching winecfg and adding your sd card/or any other device as a windows drive. When you select that in the installer it will correctly see the size of the drive (make sure to select the added drive from My Computer in the file browser in the installer). If you are launching the installer from steam with proton then you can use protontricks to launch winecfg.
Now just need to figure out how to mod it

Ive been playing Genshin for over a year now on the steam deck and no bans. I havent been banned for playing ZZZ either.
