He's got a specific persona he puts on for his streams, where he's egotistical and short-tempered but doesn't want you to that find out because he's obsessed with looking good (The recent Christmas stream is an example of this). And he'll occasionally just snap and do something genuinely unhinged when you least expect it, like the whole alien rant. There is nothing normal about the alien rant.
I'll watch occasional clips of Jerma, but he can be silly at worst. Like when ChatGPT used an easy Google search to tell him about Binding of Isaac descriptions, he then stated a serious fear of AI.

I feel like Jerma humor works so well because it's so...cartoony? Like if Jerma is transported into a cartoon dimension he would be just an average guy in comparison but because we're viewing him in this reality all the little things he did just become kinda insane. He's also not being in "cartoon mode" constantly too, the friction between being just a normal guy to suddenly being a wacky creature creates this sort of "unhingedness" that is unpredictable and a bit "uncomfortable" to the regular viewer. But he's not unpredictable either, watch him long enough and you see the pattern to the humor, to this "unhingedness". When you start noticing it suddenly the wacky stuff that happened clicks in your head and sorta "make sense". It's like Jerma created a pocket universe where all that wacky stuff is the norm and he's transporting you to that reality through his stream. Am i making sense here? Or is watching to much Jerma have broken my mind? Maybe the answer is much simpler and he's just a funni guy, but i doubt it...HE'S INSANE!

it's a mix he is well adjusted, seems quite nice and genuine, so yea it's like a contrast thing. but also something you pick up as you watch him more and more is that he is genuinely quite a bit weird, not in like an explosive way but just harmlessly unusual, which since he's a pleasant dude stands out more than if someone who is constantly insane or over the top would do those things. he also leans into it, he definitely has some insane moments, meatgrinder, being strangled pov, eating a bird, shaving cream incident where he is implying he is a cannibal, growling at the viewers etc etc. but if you think about it with how much footage there is of him online he has a really clean history, especially in the streaming space i think if he didn't seem like a solid down to earth dude that his humour wouldn't be as effective

It was called “Jerma laughing at vehicle crashes for 30 mins” something like that and the thumbnail was just a picture of him cracking up next to a flaming car. I click and was really confused that in all the clips he was laughing at video game car crashes, not real crashes involving real people. It just goes to show even a total stranger knows to be wary of this man
It's kind of a free energy machine where Jerma does something slightly goofy, then the chat exaggerates that it's unhinged psycho behavior for laughs, then he sort of plays into it a bit by saying something like "I'll cut this guy into pieces" and pretending he doesn't know he's feeding into the joke, when he's totally feeding into the joke. And the irony just snowballs forever. I mean, I guess that's the clearest way I can put it.
It's interesting because Jerma has been an online content creator for a decade plus now and has only really blown up recently so it's like there's all these big streamers who are desperately trying to catch up on Jerma lore and understand why he's funny.
