- “The DG Custom 30 is the culmination of a three-year collaboration between myself and Doug Sewell. After extensive designing, redesigning, and repeated comparisons to the amps I have cherry picked over the years, we have come up with an amp that would rival the best of my vintage amps. Equally well-suited to both live situations and studio work, this amp is far from a knockoff. I am blown away. I'm hopeful that other players will find it as inspiring and musical as I do.” - David Grissom
Developed and refined over many years, the PRS David Grissom signature DG Custom 30 amp brings Grissom’s discriminating tone to players looking for a highly-responsive, musical amp rig. The PRS “DG Custom 30” comes in blonde vinyl with a cherry stained mahogany fascia and un-tinted salt and pepper grill cloth. It features four EL84/7581 power tubes and several tone-sculpting features, including bright switch, reverb, boost/normal gain switch, presence control, and top cut control.

Thanks David and Paul, what a great combination! Looking forward to the next time I can be at the Saxon!
Prs has knocked it out of the park again! Would love to hear the Silver Sky through it!
Hmmm... We bet sounds tasty!
I love how people came around to the Silver Sky 🤘🏻
More than anything, this video told me that Paul and his employees don't rush anything. You can't rush greatness. Absolute dedication to the end product. Paul has a great sense of what the customer will want too. Someday (maybe tomorrow) PRS will be studied in business schools for the success that they are.
What's the next collaboration? An acoustic?
Master class in amp building
would Love seeing a full play through demo of this amp.
Totally understand David... my favorite tones Angus, early Clapton, Beck and Van Halen... they all sound 'dirty but clean'. It's a very sweet place to be but VERY difficult to achieve in all venues due to it being a volume thing. Killer tones for sure! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I remember Doug in dallas with his amp company before going to PRS!
I LITERALLY have owned them all in my 35 years of playing & collecting amps... Marshall, Mesa, Fender, Bogner, Friedman, Retro-King, Fargen, Budda, Carol-Ann, Dr. Z, Hiwatt, Vox.... God the list goes on... I say this with 100% conviction: PRS amps are masterpieces!! If you want THE definition of pure tone... PRS & Sewell have captured it. Right now, my muse is the HXDA... But this DG will be my next.
By the way... If you think your Helix, AxeFX or modeler can produce tones like these amps...you really need to guess again. I still own a Helix and use it as an emergency backup for gigs... I've used the FX and that green lunchbox modeler thing at full volume during rehearsals... They are a JOKE compared to real tube amps, much less a modern masterpiece like PRS amps. Don't kid yourselves... Don't kid your ears...
Get the DG30, it is such a good pairing with the HX/DA, I have both. You are right, what Doug Sewell and David Grissom were able to create is cut above the rest.
I love the way David plays like wow love it that feel is beautiful amazing style and I love the tone of that amp wow
Demoing the amp would be nice.
I just recieved my DG 30 Custom, I've been playing Mesa/Boogie for the lat 30 years (and love them) this is a clear step above in tone. THANK YOU Doug, David and Paul for such a delicious amp!!!
Need to add a se version so schmucks like me can afford it! PLEASE PRS!!
Ron Collins get a job loser
With cutting costs, you're cutting quality. Defeats the purpose, but I understand. Maybe one day we'll be able to buy these high-end sounding amps. Keep in mind no matter how an amp sounds, you have to be able to bring out the sound.
@@bmark7951 You're ignorant. 🤦♂️
I have a Pre PRS Sewell Texaverb 30 watt head, and it sounds great...I'd like to know what Doug did differently w/ the the DG30...Can I mod it?
Killer tone!
All of that, and it sounds great too!! 🤪😳
Not a lot of demo going on.
Grissom would be amazing no matter what amp was behind him.
Hands. It's where tone lives.
I sound like I'm holding a 5 lb rock in my picking hand, and all my fret hand fingers are scotched taped together... 😁👍
If only we could get these in the UK 😢
clembo3rc maybe contact Andertons since it’s a new amp they can probably get you one.
Hugh Snyder Not available here due to RoHS regulations apparently. I’ve asked PRS before.
Add this tone, Alvin Lee's 335 straight into his Marshall. Still top 5 in my book.
Matt Horan ALVIN🙏👌😊☮️
I agree. But any top Gibson straight into a Marshall tube head and cab is awesome
Is this amp comparable to anything? I love how it sounds but I'm like.. What does it sound like!? Is it a Marshall/Hiwatt kinda thing?
Still no EU?
Dave plays pretty well, huh? Who knew?
David is brilliant and I'm sure the amp sounds amazing but it's aimed at pro guitarists I assume and if you have a few spare dollars pounds etc lying around.
"the culmination of a three-year collaboration between myself and Doug Sewell" Actually, only *you* can collaborate with *yourself.*
woa.. I'm the first viewer!
Sure would be nice if he played long enough to hear the Tonal Tenacity of the amp. Less shit shooting and more fingerbanging please. ✌🏾
Thanks for the feedback, Damon 2A. We'll keep that in mind for future artist interviews.
its that guy from portlandia wtf
Sounds amazing! However, my Genz Benz Black Pearl sounds better and I paid $350 for it!
too froggy
More talking please
not much of a Demo
