And just when I told my wife I was done buying Guitars, here comes PRS guitars with some I’m looking forward to. Like other peeps in here, TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!!!
I’m in the market for another guitar, I don’t need one I just want another. I alway come back around to PRS and when I see these videos it just speaks to me. I’m glad SE models exist. Thank you. Looking forward to part 2.
My DGT isn’t the guitar I play for every gig, nor is it always my go-to guitar for noodling and fooling around… but it is *the* best guitar I own, and possibly the most perfect guitar I’ve played, both in objective terms like reliability and consistency, and subjective like effortless feel and encouraging playability. It’s the one I’d run to save in a house fire. It’s the one that makes me feel the least limited, be it physically or emotionally, as a player. And I worked damn hard to pay it off for years, for all these reasons 😅 To think there will be an affordable version of the guitar that has done so much for me, with the potential to do so much for so many others, is truly wonderful. Awesome work, team. 🚀
If there is going to be an SE McCarty with a hardtail bridge you have my attention. I think if there were SE Custom 24s that came with a hardtail you would get a lot more fans and customers IMO
Though I would really like to own a PRS someday, I really love the four Cort guitars I own. I am proud that Cort's craftmanship is praised by PRS and others of the same caliber.
I'm a huge SE fan... own two, and I've owned a 1992 EG III, which I gave to my 13 year old grandson, thinking he'd probably return it within a week or so... He didn't. It inspired him to the point where today he's a Frost scholar at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL studying music production technology... and jazz guitar! Thanks, Paul! Oh, and I play my SEs -- a custom 22 semi hollow body and a Santana -- almost daily as a dedicated, 76 year old, bedroom rocker!
This is cool... I love that PRS can deliver this level of quality to make a more affordable guitar. I also appreciate that the artist are holding PRS to task to ensure the instruments are to their expectations.
I had a core DGT standard back in 2008. Had it for four years. I could get any sound out of the guitar I wanted. Tele single coil, Les Paul humbucker sounds and PRS humbucker sounds(full dynamic). In 2011 I traded that guitar away and have regretted it EVERY DAY since! Being retired, I don’t have the money I had while working, this SE model is one I can afford now. From the sounds of it, this guitar will be like the standard I once had…….. Thank you guys for bringing this DGT to market!
I bought my 1st PRS a year ago. I've been playing fot 40 years. I wish I had tried one sooner. I got a semi-hollow SE "Black Gold" limited edition. What a great guitar. Flawless. The pickups are awesome. So many times on pups with coil tapping, they do single or double coil acceptably but the other is just not good. That is not the case on mine. And the highly figured wood is really beautiful. Playability is awesome. Even better than my Tele Elite. I've had many guitars come and go from my collection but this one has found its forever home.
Hey PRS, you should totally sell the pieces of neck that don't make it through QA etc (like Jack is holding)! I'd turn it into the raddest doorhandle for my studio!
Now I am happy! I have a PRS 513....it's a amazing guitar... but always wanted a DGT one....and now we have this possibility! Congratulations all PRS time!
I was always a Fender/Gibson guy. Then I discovered Shecter made overseas and was impressed with the fit and finish. I then brought my first PRS, a used Custom 24 made in 2010 for the 46th anniversary of Guitar Center. The quality of the build on that guitar blew me away and the 10 top is amazing. But I was able to get it only because of a windfall. I wanted more PRS, but not at core prices. I then discovered the SE series of guitars. I now own a 245Se, a Bernie MarsdenSe, and most recently a 2022 PaulsGuitarSe all killers. And to think that this past weekend I was thinking, it would be great if they made a DGT-SE. And here we are! Can wait to try one out. Thank you PRS!
Been moving as of and its jacked up my back. That lead to the purchase of an SE22 custom semi-hollow. 7lbs of GREAT guitar! If anybody from the company is reading this PULEEEEZE include the semi-hollow option for the DGT SE!! (I have a 2012 All Mahogany DGT. Thus my excitement regarding this concept coming to life! Oh yeh….MOONS! Can’t wait!
Ha, I also own an SE CU22 Semi and that limited mahogany run DGT. Also have a maple-top Core DGT sunburst. Each is a fabulous instrument. But I would _SO_ seriously consider buying an SE DGT Semi-hollow Goldtop with Moons.
The SE line becomes ever more appealing. I have two cores: an Artist Package Tremonti and a Hollowbody II Piezo. I also have a 2019 SE SVN, into which I put SD Alpha/Omega pickups. The quality of the SE line is incredible (not as big a fan of the Chinese acoustics though). I want another, and I own some of the finest core models you can buy! I picked up a Custom 24 SE at Music Villa in Bozeman, MT and nearly bought it on the spot because of how well it played; how well it was made. They're just amazing instruments for the money.
The DGT SE is the first SE I’m really exited about. The DGT has been a dream guitar for years. I have an S2 Standard 24 Satin that I really like (after a pickup swap).
Looking forward to it! Played the core in a shop twice, really really good, hope the SE can match. (No didn't buy it, set myself a level of playing before going in above 1300$ range guitars, not there yet.)
If you want it and can responsibly afford it, just go for it. How you play is unique and is going to develop at its own pace. Having that guitar you’ve always wanted too just makes it that more exciting to play.
I have two PRSs. One is an Experience 2012 CU 24 with a Private Stock flamed neck and eagle inlay. It is a gorgeous guitar. My other is a Whale Blue DGT Wood Library with a Korean neck and Cocobolo board. My favorite one is the one I’m playing at the time. Tonally, the DGT is very versatile and just sounds fantastic through my SuperSonic.
Good move guys. I've owned two DGTs, sold one, still have the other. It's a keeper. Love to have another one in Eriza Verde, but that 4k-5k+ price tag is hard to justify. Make a green SE and take my money!!!
I just bought a DGT SE for various reasons and it is insanely good for the money I paid, but I got say, attention to detail in production does not reach 100%. Until now I fixed a glitch regarding the nut, as the G-String was jumping in its place and made nice pling noises. Easy fix with UV hardening superglue, though unnecessary to happen. On the other hand the neck was straight out flat. Ok we have winter now and you never know when it has been shipped to storage in the first place, but I have to work on that, too. Luckily and I a really grateful for that, you publish the factory specs so I guess I’ll get it in that ballpark. Until now some strings see to hit the fretboard where there shouldn’t and I hope that’ll be not more work than necessary. It also feels - and I can be wrong - that the upper frets maybe overlap on the part of the neck which points to the floor. They are polished perfectly and that maybe even intentional(?) as a flip of the fretboard while bending down will not happen until you really overdo it. Octave purity is reached 100% btw. So it feels they finished it a tad early and didn’t really check “if all was right” regarding the nut fault? So some stuff to fix on my side for now until I’d say it’s as perfect as it can be for around 1000 Bucks. For the good part: I love the overall quality and especially the feel, sustain, reactivity to playing and the versatility in tone! I usually have trouble liking mahogany body guitars and until now there was just one which talked to me (old 80s Aria Pro II), but this one? Fantastic :) It has a mix of a carrying tone and still a very snappy attack which is really inspiring to play more dynamic or sometimes just less and let chords ring. I think I will be happy with it soon, just not in the first place. Now I’ll be ogling again at the Emerald green version of the top of the shelf line which I was thinking about to buy recently, but somebody else was faster. Led to buying a JSGD2, which isn’t that bad either, but a totally different beast. Anyway, mimimi from my side or not, the DGT SE is a reaaaaally nice guitar, which might just need a tad more quality control for even better consistence. David wouldn’t have liked this one off the wall, I am sure…
I own 2 Custom 24's, a Korean made Floyd model and an Inndonesian limited 35th Anniversary. Both amazing but the latter took the quality to a whole other level. I wholeheartedly recommend SE's. You'll likely need a setup to suit you tastes, but once dialed they are blissful.
Hey Jack....by any chance does this project have anything to do with the letter I mailed to PRS earlier this month (Dec) ? I begged for an SE version of the DGT in dark cherryburst....my favorite PRS finish. I am excited to see it happen.....long overdue. 😁🙄😁

I own a core DGT and I am very excited to see the se version.
@PRS Guitars , lefties ?
Did you guys recently hire a new video person/team? It looks different. Very well done! Can't wait for part 2!
Will there be a left handed version?
This sounds like a great idea and I can't wait to see one. Great to see Jack excited! Andrew Mc
Just bought the DGT SE. A huge THANK You to PRS and Mr. Grissom for producing it. Truly awesome.
And just when I told my wife I was done buying Guitars, here comes PRS guitars with some I’m looking forward to. Like other peeps in here, TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!!!

Yeah mine stopped believing me when I say that a long time ago lol
A friend of mine has a DGT and the first time I played it, I said "man I hope they made an SE version of this someday!"
The COO of PRS himself, driving an elite GR86 👌🏼

Excited for this project...David and Paul have been refining this design for ages.

The Paul’s Guitar SE has a hard tail bridge
@Matt Brown thats a 22 fret guitar.
Its out there now
Love my DGT! Having more people playing the SE version is exciting. PRS certainly isn't resting on their laurels.
Though I would really like to own a PRS someday, I really love the four Cort guitars I own. I am proud that Cort's craftmanship is praised by PRS and others of the same caliber.

I’m excited to hear about this- very likely to be my first PRS guitar 👍
This is cool... I love that PRS can deliver this level of quality to make a more affordable guitar. I also appreciate that the artist are holding PRS to task to ensure the instruments are to their expectations.
Nice! A lot of people have been looking for this.
I've been waiting for this day for YEARS. Please make a goldtop version with the natural back!!! And use true jumbo fret wire!!!
This This This!
FIRE RED BURST PLEASE!!!!!
Great to see you repping the GR86!!! That’s me dream spec too.

The relatively small staff at the PRS factory is one of the most focused teams I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
PRS being AWESOME yet again! These guys just don't let up...
Awesome news! Hoping for the inevitable SE Studio!
So stoked about this. You know I love the DGT and bringing the design into the SE line is wonderful.
ohhhhh mannnnnn im friggin SO psyched!!!!!
This is genuinely exciting, I can't wait to see the result. I love my PRS SE, it's my favorite guitar I can't wait to see the DGT SE.
I've waited two years for this...Couldn't be more excited! Many thanks to Paul, David and the PRS teams on both continents!
Considering the se silver sky is one of my top three favourite guitars I’ve ever played and own, I’m looking forward to this
YESSSSSSSS!!!! The DGT is one of the best guitars I’ve ever played and though I never bought one, I know one day I would.
I'm on board. This SE DGT IDEA ALREADY HAS HUGE TONES.
Definitely looking forward to it! Can´t wait to get more details on this.

My SE custom 24 is defiantly my most versatile guitar I own.. Super excited for the results!
I hope they make a Goldtop!🎸🎸🎸🎸
I'm definitely buying this!!!!
Ooft can’t wait to see what this turns out like. Love what you guys are doing with the SE line
This just might have to be the first guitar I order as Pulse Artist!! 🤤
Ooh i am exited to try this out, i can not wait!
Hey PRS, you should totally sell the pieces of neck that don't make it through QA etc (like Jack is holding)! I'd turn it into the raddest doorhandle for my studio!
Just buy a wood library and chop it into pieces. Problem solved.

My DGT is one of the best guitars EVER. I have one that looks exactly like the one at 2:19 of the video. A wonderful 10 top.
I have a Bernie Marsden (love it!), a 245 SE Soapbar, but I MUST have this.
Now I am happy! I have a PRS 513....it's a amazing guitar... but always wanted a DGT one....and now we have this possibility! Congratulations all PRS time!

Higginbottom drives the right car. I wish there was a guitar that was a satisfying to buy as my GT86/BRZ...
The SE DGT is that guitar.

The DGT is such a customized guitar. I’m looking forward to seeing how they translate it to the SE grade.

(Peace on Earth, great guitars to all & to all a good show....)

I remember see Joe Ely with Dave when he was a kid!
EXCELLENT.
I have to say, my SE Mira is the best playing guitar I own (and I own many). I wouldn't hesitate on the SE DGT.
I’m a fan of the SE Mira too. Feels so great in the hands , like many SE’s.

Thanks for the love @Freedum_Fries

Very exciting!
Just tell me when I can buy one.
FINALLY!!!!
The time for an SE DGT has come.
Great idea!!! (It’ll be my 8th PRS👍🏽). BUT…..it must have 1/2 moon dots 😊
These signature guys get a cut from each guitar sold. It's the artist that sells the product. Grissom's talent can sell any brand guitar.
Thank You!

Lovely Eastern Shore of MD...
could there be a possibility that prs could make a se or and s2 version of the prs special semi-hollow 22

@Pocket Square The DGT is such a great guitar.....the SE version took wayyyy too long to bring to market. 😁
