Sick podcast, but I wish Hiro would have been able to finish his thoughts more. There were a lot of situations where he was about to talk and he got hit with the "we gon get to that." Where I feel like if he was able to finish his thoughts on the spot I would have got some very valuable philosophy on the concept. Just felt like I possibly missed some insightful information. But at the same time I get that its a new podcast and the formula is in the works.
Gilded Garden I mean they had a reason for it though. They wanted to have conversations of all the street fighter transitions, and not just skip straight to 5 and all it’s complaints. Eventually they reached 5 so no worries

I so agree with Hiro regarding SFV. There's no individuality. If you're really good with a certain character, you don't stand out from every other player that's good with that character. When you think of a good Gief in SF4 you thought of Snake eyez, with Gen you thought of Xian, Ken you thought of Momochi and so on. Because there were so many ways you could utilize a single character. Optimal play in SFV is too linear.
I agree there’s less individuality, but I still think there is a fair bit of it. Akuma is synonymous with Tokido, as is Problem X and Bison, Chris T and Ken, Daigo and Guile, Punk and Karin, Fujimura and Ibuki, Bonchan and Nash, etc. There are still big names attached to characters. The individuality of seeing multiple people play the same character is worse than SF4, correct, but there are definitely names attached to characters because of how strong the individual is.
@@Fleetw00d I don't disagree, but that makes the meta extremely boring to watch is my point. For example, Nuckledu's Guile doesn't look any different than Daigo's Guile when playing optimally. There are far less ways to express yourself in SFV so everyone's doing the same thing.

The fgc is by far the most interesting gaming community. Theres a lot I dont know about and this podcast is probably the funniest way I can get familiar. Also Hiro is godlike for asking his own questions and having answers to them right away. That's a natural born leader right there.

You could set up an SFV or DBFZ game & demonstrate things, or just play old matches that show what it is; that'd be AWESOME. As a future game designer/producer, I need this knowledge.

Thats a great point about learning the engine of a fighter first. Then your character. See how the meta works. Daigo had that huge drought when Ryu got dogged in the first few seasons. He went with Guile and it helped him drastically cause that character was so good for that meta
great show but i think you need a basic question like : what other games you play fighters/non fighters? top 5 players? best tournament? favorite cartoons? favorite streamer? who do you want to meet if anyone alive or dead? what would you tell capcom?
All the audio is perfect this time around. Third time's the charm. Only criticism I have is that y'all might wanna find some new background music 'cause it might get repetitive after 10+ episodes or something.
