Looking back at the earlier acts, i feel it's kinda sad how rose thought her mom was ironically indulging her and thus disliked her. Knowing roxy she was probably spoiling her precious daughter as best as she could while been too depressed and drunk to try and talk to her, knowing what would happen probably played a role in it (guardians seem to know about the game and how this is a doomed session)
I think the same can be applied to John and Dad to even greater extend. Dad notised his sons low self esteem and thus desided to each time praise him. And clowns was just dads ways to support Johns interests. Ironically, Dave's bro, who he thought of as cool dude and role model at beginning of story, turned out to be abusive.
The reason why rose is the real main character of homestuck she has 3(+?) different aggreive themes 1st one was for normal fights 2nt one was for boss fights and the one with the guitar and bear that vaguely sounded like something you'd hear in the old doom games for the final boss
I dunno, i feel it is funny for the scene, but i can see how it could be viewed as insensitive. Allot of early homestuck had that vibe, that and with the use of the r-slur
