Not for me then, I questioned my sexuality until there was nothing left to question. It's horrifically abnormal to the point that it loops back to being kind of normal. Like being the opposite of gay 3 times, but opposite changes its meaning each time.
It sounds like he mixed this himself. This is chill asf. I like the jazzy vibes, it reminds me of his improvisational rapping style. It also sounds confused at some parts, but probably makes perfect sense to him, which also reminds me of how he just does his own thing and doesn't worry about other people "getting it." You either vibe and get it or you don't. That's all there really is to say on the matter.

i honestly yelled when i heard those sonic 3 boss samples in there. hits me RIGHT in the metaphorical nostalgia ballsack. also, i like that james chose to use davesprite as the main melody rather than beatdown. i feel like beatdown is more representative of the kind of person dave is being forced to be - always on edge, high-energy, never allowed to slow down or relax. the davesprite leitmotif fits dave as a character more. it's still got energy to it, but it's a more controlled energy, with a certain level of almost sadness to it to hammer in how goddamn fucked up and tired this kid is.
That motif is actually Sunslammer, which usually tends to get remixed at a similar energy level to Beatdown, but yeah, Davesprite did a great job making it chill.

I heard the tune ages ago (like 2009/10) as a WIP beta track called Hawkeye, which I presume was created in response to the teaser of Dave's seppucrow sprite. Basically, this track was Dave's version of Nannasprite's "Harlequin." Hawkeye was later remixed into tracks like Sunsetter, and later still, Sunslammer. It's flat nice seeing it reassociated to the OG here, where it should be.
