1:20 that's a 1988 Citroën CX that Jeremy used for his build (Richard used a 1987 Lotus Excel and James used a 1984 Land Rover 110). 3:19 the UK is actually quite lenient with some things, like these body changes, and even engine "swaps". They're more concerned about the structural integrity of the chassis, lack of corrosion, readable number plates, working lights, etc. 6:06 The roof box on James' Lotus has a sleeping bag, a camping hob (or whatever) and a porta potty in it, and an "escape chute" to go back into the car (which he gets stuck in) lol... Jeremy hilariously cooks "vegetables" (flowers) in Castrol GTX motor oil on the bottom floor of the back of his Citroën 😂 Richard uses his toilet on the passenger side of his Land Rover's cab, which can be seen by passers by, and somehow sets fire to one of his metal walls with his cooking 😆 Jeremy's Citroën almost crashes into a petrol station forecourt roof, but then he lowers Citroën's hydropneumatic suspension (to which James says "oh yes!" as he remembers it) and then it fits under. 8:13 Richard: 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX estate / station wagon 10:06 James: 1996 Volvo 850 R estate / station wagon 12:16 Jeremy: 1999 BMW 528i 'Touring' (as they call it)
In answer to where James' accomodation was, he suspended a mountaineering tent off the front of his crane, the source of some of the hillarities later on in the special
Thanks for the laughs! Back in the days when I had tv, I did love that show in its early days . Never saw those conversions so this was a hoot given my experience since then. Yes, more please👍and🙏for Murray, he’s not ready to be pensioned off yet🙏
Lol that's fair. I got a friend to collect the footage for me but it's a bit difficult when you're already a fan of the show and have seen some bits 🤷♀️

In that episode Jame’s lotus camper was quite tight if not downright claustrophobic
