But the guy said they are the same. Is hard to make 12,000 ghana cedis which equal 1000$ is same way Nigerians struggles to make 1.4 million naira which equals $1000. So how ghane better ? Come to think of it Nigerians are still far richer than ghanians, If Nigerians enter any events u will know they around, if ghana cedis is bigger in value how com ghanians are not rich

Meaning naira have value than the dollar, because what the naira can do or buy in nigeria the dollar can’t the same in the USA. You can buy a land for 1 million naira depending on the area. But you cannot buy a land in the USA for $1000

Redenommination results in significant efficiency gains when undertaken in
the context of strong economic foundamentals and macroeconomic stability.
For this reason most countries resort to redenomination after they have
’addressed the monetary policy problems that have generated the large local
currency to dollar(or other prestigious currency) ratios.’(Layna, 2006)
In the case of the redenomination of the cedi(2007), five years before the
time, macroeconomic stability began to take root with falling inflation and
interest rates increasing at a decreasing rate. The cedis role as a store of
value was largely restored after government’s commitment to fiscal and
monetary policy prudence.(Bank of Ghana Circular on the Redenomination,
2007). This is why Ghana joined HIPC program to fix these issues and restructured the economy. The ridiculous analogy of old cedis 000 was to help ordinary Ghanaian understand the new cedis therefore the old cedis was pegged against the new cedis so ppl can covert their old money with an understanding of what the new currency equivalent was to the old

I'm a Ghanaian and a banking and finance graduate of UG Legon, the Ghana Cedi can never be better than the Nigeria Naira, the cedi is a façade and 4 zeros were removed from the cedi in 2007 when the cedi depreciated to appalling levels, comparing cedi to naira is like comparing an ant to elephant, the Naira has never depreciated to the point where you had to remove four zeros....remember the cedi used to have 20,000 as one note before the remodelling which is the 2 cedi we know today....Take note that the 1 cedi you see is actually 10,000 cedis, please do your research before commenting on things you know little about, the Ghanaian government sees this kind of argument daily and are happy that their Psyop is working, especially on our Nigerian brothers and Sisters...Furthermore, the number written on a note doesn't dictate its value, what it can buy is what dictates its value, including things like inflation, port duty, GDP & Standard of living, cost of living, Ghana has the highest inflation rate in Africa, Ghana charges the highest duties on imports in west Africa, Cost of living in Ghana is also the highest on the African continent, making the cedi very VERY VERY weak.......1 cedi is 12 Japanese Yen, yet the Yen is number 4 on the forex trading market, the number on the note doesn't dictate value, alot of factors does. Please let us educate ourselves more and stop spreading misinformation....

To get 12000 in Ghana struggle like what you think. People spend it one night in a night club.
The question is how much you make in Nigeria per one month of government workers? For the example if you teaching in Nigeria how much you make per month? And if you teaching in Ghana how much you make per month. you have to break all it down before you finalized. For the example Ghana doctors pay start from 5000 cedis to 10,000 cedis . Judges make 4000 cedis to 8000 cedis plus. Ghana teachers make 2500 cedis to 7000 cedis a month. Ghana Business men and women make way more a month.
Nigeria teacher make 250,000 naira per month if you convert 250,000 to Ghana cedis is 2022.58 cedis. this means Ghana teacher get more pay than Nigeria teachers., because Ghana teacher make 2500 cedis up to 7000 cedis.
It's clear that Ghanaian make more more that's why a lot of Nigerians moved to Ghana and they making very good money in Ghana.

Mr. Analyst, educate yourself first before coming here to misinform people. The Ghanaian government removed four zeros from their money back in 2007 and then renamed it Ghana cedis, which means that 10,000 cedis is what they now call 1Ghana cedi but the value remains the same. So, when you say one dollar is equal to 12, 396 Ghana cedis, the value is actually 123,960,000 when you add the four zeros that was removed in 2007 by the Ghanaian government, which was done so that citizens wouldn't have to carry bags and bags of cash on them. Removing the zeros did not mean that the value increased. Please, stop spreading false information. Many Ghanaians know this but of course, only a few will admit it's true.

Don't be too hard on yourselves, Nigerians, okay, I can understand your pain and it's fine by us the Ghanaians. When you underrate a group of people for so long, there is nothing about their progress that makes sense to you. Very Dark man, didn't need a rocket science feel and experience the differences in value whilst he was in Ghana. You, keep arguing and be repeating that, four zeros had been cancelled and all that, but my reality is in my average middle income salary which is about Ghs 3000 to Ghs 5000 which can get both I and family by in a month and even have a change for savings.
Even though we(Ghanaians) are on our government that things are bad, it is not compared to your situation. Just as a $100 would not be that huge in the states but a big deal in Ghana, So in the case of the Cedi to Naria. A 100 Cedi note in Ghana would buy considerable amount of goods but does far better better in Nigeria. Lastly, just find out from those who cook food and sell how much money in a day do they made in Ghana? It will shock you to know that some local food vendors make as much as Ghs 10,000.00 a day. Why do you think many are coming to Ghana including Nigerias to do business in Ghana. who will invest much in a place where returns are low in or in a a currency which gives value for money. Keep explaining whilst we(Ghana) keep making progress on the go.🤣🤣🤣🤣
