Welcome to the club man, easily the best platform you’ll love it. Check with your local dealer about your blower recall if not already done. If you bring it in stock form they will give you an entire new blower free.
Easily the best car I’ve had. By far. Loving it and can’t wait to keep chipping away at it every weekend. One thing I did notice was the blower does have a solid isolator, no slop at all when I checked the upper pulley. Rotors have the full coating as well, so it may have been replaced recently I’m thinking.
Glad your back my friend, I bought a Lunati Part#20549911 227/241, IN-.619/ EX- .592 cam, FIC850's, I have a single 450 FP right now but may go dual 450's later in my LSA/5.3. Keep them videos coming.
I've got a 2015 ctsv coupe I also have a bagged challenger and a few other cars 58 vw bug lifted trucks ... about to start adding to channel ... great info on you channel bro
If you look at 17:27 , I used that funnel to bleed it. Made it easy. But honestly the stock filler neck is the highest point in the system, so you don’t *need* a funnel. Just fill the HX (has a fill hole on top), then continue to fill the system through the filler neck until the filler neck is full (I used like 90/10 water to dexcool mix), turn the key on, keep massaging hoses, topping it off as you go. After the first few drives, I checked and topped fluid off accordingly. Was solid after. Hope this helps.
Damn, that was cool. Are you a trained mechanic or body guy. That looked to intricate for me to tackle. Good job! Thanks for the video. Buy the way I own a 2011 CTS-V sedan. It's stock except for an Air Raid CAI and Corsa mufflers. Love it!

Great Video, What size hose was used for the lid and where did you purchase? I am pulling the trigger on a ZL 1 Lid from DMS , also was the Mighty mouse Catch can a difficult install or pretty straight forward, Thankyou
I used 12AN fittings (pushlock) with 3/4” hose I believe, and also purchased the lid from DMS. The Mighty Mouse was an easy install, but you should plan to do an oil change while you’re at it because you’ll be under the car anyway attaching the drain line to one of the trans bolts lol
Loving your videos, I have the same car andyear. But mine is a stick and now I'm working on a dual Catch canjust for that reason. I just picked up a 4.5inch carbon fiber intake, but can't put it on until everything is done. Cause I would have to retune the V, that would be a waste of money.
All that oil in the blower is from blow-by from not having a catch can, now if it was coolant in there from a colapsed brick, that motor woulda been most likely done.
Also, I have seen the CTS-V cover fit over the zl1 lid in these V’s! That’s why I say the red cover will fit no problem. Maybe I’ll snag a red one and test fit it for you next month.
While I haven’t personally experienced the G37 platform, I always tell folks trying to swap gencoupes etc to make sure they are committed to the platform. It was my first “sports” car… there are much better platforms to mod is my point lol but this CTSV is by far my fav right now behind the Evo8 and z32
I don’t think there’s any noticeable difference in a swap, moreso cosmetic. I am now using a Kong Performance lid and that did make a difference in feel, sound, and cosmetics moreso than the ZL1 lid swap.
@@hectorcuellar1293 they came with the lid I believe. If not, just Google what you need like 12AN 90* fitting. Many companies and many sites sell them. Personally I like Redhorse and Vibrant hoses and fittings.
I’ve had mine about 5 months now, to include a trip across the country, but I’ve been in the LSx swap space since 2016. Reliability is there but when you start getting up there in power expect some wear - like as soon as I got to the 650whp area my OEM driveshaft with 100k miles started to fail.

Did you need to purchase different fittings to connect the hoses to the Zl1 lid? Thanks
I did not, the lid came with the 12AN fittings (added two 90* 12AN fittings at checkout), and I just pushed hose over the barbed fittings and done.
