I have this thing in hand ✋ and believe me guys you will reget missing this beauty ...... This thing is top class work after gambit and magneto by mafex.
Yeah, you might be right with Magneto being the second best Marvel fig they've ever made. We all know Gambit is like the best overall figure they've _ever_ put out. If you neglect the size, this Thor is *stacked* with pretty much everything you need, just like the other two. Only thing you might wanna add are some cheap KO Tamashi Nations lightning effects.
Yes definitely don’t want to miss out on this release, one of mafex best
I feel like that’s all it was missing, lighting effects
I may be wrong but I think Mafex based this classic Thor on his 60s look where he was the same hgt as Ironman and Cap who are both around 6'2. The circle things on the mid torso of my figure are lopsided. The swinging hammer effect is 🔥. I hope we see classic Cap this month and hopefully other classic Avengers are in the works.
I think you might be right, I was thinking the same, man they better announce cap this month, we need the big 3 together
That's a really good way of justifying it. I was thinkin' that too, as far as _'wasn't Thor about the same height as Cap or Tony back in the day?'_
I wonder how it would've looked if they gave them blue instead of silver discs, and did the eyebrows black...to go more classic. Probably not great, but darker eyebrows definitely would've looked better, with the contrast of the blond hair. As a guy who's blond with subtle blond eyebrows, I certainly used to look a lot better back when I would dye my facial hair. I certainly don't miss scrubbing away all the skin dyed parts with bleach.
That is what he’s based off. That’s why Iron Man comic looks the way he does.
@@ScrewedToyzay man you got what you wished for! Skin looks a little weird though imo.
The lack of head movement pissed me off with the Marvel Legends Thor, even when I replaced it with a cloth cape. I was hoping that Mafex would fix this problem, but sadly they haven't.
Agreed, the hair should’ve definitely been a softer rubber piece
Or they could've gone the Figuarts route and gave Thor articulated hair, like with their Vega. In this case, _yeeeah,_ rubbery hair sounds better than that.
I thought Thor's height wouldn't bother me, too, but man, after see this comparison review, the scaling is starting to bother me a little bit. I was thinking of making custom stomach that would be longer. Thor here has long ass arms, so it wouldn't look so weird if I make the torso area more oblong. Other than that, this thing is a beauty. Very vibrant colors, and looks very faithful to the comics. Kinda reminds me of either John Buscema's or Walter Simonson's Thor in the face.
It was so close to being perfect
Was really hoping after getting Steel, that this Thor would follow suit and be larger than most Mafex figures. The design and look are faithful at the very least.
Should’ve been steels height! Now I’m worried bane will be tiny too
@@ScrewedToyz Haven't you seen the prototype pics from the Medicom Exhibition July 2022? Bane is in the same pic as Batman and is even bigger than Steel.
Mafex Classic 90s Knightfall Bane and Batman just got announced & Bane will be 190mm tall which equates to 7.5 inches tall! So yeah, Mafex is basing certain characters based on which era/story line they were in. So Thor is definitely based on his 60s look when he was drawn at a more normal hgt as Ironman and Cap who are 6'2. Even the Hulk of the 60s was depicted as being no bigger in hgt than the other Avengers of that era.
I do think this Thor was based on his first appearances where he’s a bit shorter, it would’ve still been nice to have a bit taller
Awesome review! I will say though since it looks like his look his look is based on the thor from like the sixties and so forth he wasn’t ever drawn really tall. Even hulk looked to be just barely taller than the other heroes. But i feel you though, nowadays we kinda view Thor as imposing.
That’s what I was thinking and I think u might be right, thanks for watching!
Jack Kirby, Don Heck style
When Mafex cap comes out this dudes gonna sky rocket in price watch.
Having the big 3 all together is gona Look dope
Marvel Legends has its own scale where a 6.3 inch figure is 6 ft tall in real life. Thor is 6 ft 6 inches, which is 16.51 cm in 1/12 scale. Gambit is 6'1, Magneto is 6'2...Thor should be a little bit taller than them. In your side by side comparison, it is not that bad. 4inches difference from Magneto in 1/12 scale is very small, almost negligible.
Literally the only complaint I have about this figure is the height, I wish he was just a bit taller, an inch taller would’ve been perfect
Anyone looking to mix and match with this guy will be disappointed,I’ll be posing him with other Mafex figures so it’s all good for me 🙂
He’s flying on a flight stand in my collection lol
where did you get that cap shield from? i really want the 20th anniversary one but need a spare shield without the holes?
I currently have my cap displayed with the ultimate cap shield
Looks like he’ll be smaller then the ML Iron Man. I’m not a huge stickler on scaling, but 80th Cap being taller than Thor is definitely a red flag. Think I’ll stick with Legends, but this one is definitely a solid release
We need mafex cap!
@@ScrewedToyz
For real! Like how long ago was it when they showed the unpainted prototype, like a couple years ago?? lol
That's _craaaaazy_ man! I've been collecting Mafex steadily since like '18/'19...and I always recall them showing off fully painted figures, then not long after they go up for pre-order. Have no clue what the issue is with Cap...but dude should've been dropping within the next few months. At this rate, we probably won't have those iconic three together until 2026.
this figure stinks, there is no way around it
Hey man ur gonna hurt his feelings
@@ScrewedToyz
...says the ppl that don't spend the money to buy these figures. Even if they are on the smaller side (like Venom & Thor), they're absolute beautiful little works of art. They feel like major quality, they pose like perfect butter; things that a lot of naysayers don't know about. I'd be totally content if the only two companies producing figures were NECA and Mafex. In a perfect world, they'd merge together so we'd get the best aspects of each to create definitive versions of all movie, toon, & comic book characters.
