MAFEX is slowly replacing all the Marvel Legends in my X-Men display. I think they may start doing the same for my Avengers. They love to do repaints, I'd want MAFEX to re-do this one in gold instead of yellow, like the 80th Marvel Legends.
@@WhiteKnightPictures In terms of paint work and plastic quality, the Mafex is far better, I don't think anybody can argue that. But I also think the proportions on the Marvel Legends Iron Man are far better. Mafex is to scrawny

The side disks (in the comics they are batteries) are too big, the feet are a tad bit too small and as anyone knows the proton cannon doesn't go with that armor. For that price tag I could get the Marvel Legends classic armor (which is better in my opinion) AND the Modular armor WITH the cannon - and possibly buy another armor second hand. A year ago I bought a Hot Toys Iron Man Mark LXXXV figure. And while it was a pretty cool figure, detail and all that, I just couldn't help feeling that it wasn't worth the money that I spent on it. Even after getting it on sale, it was still over $500 CAD. Plus, I really didn't have room to display it anywhere. THIS Mafex figure seems like it would be more my style. It's a fraction of the price, it is the era of Iron Man I grew up with, and I love the look of it. Plus that Stark head sculpt is awesome. What would make it even more awesome would have been if they also included a James Rhodes head sculpt for it.
What I really love about this design is that widow's peak is so freakin' sharp. Something hasbro couldn't do with the plastic they use. And I love how the default face plate doesn't have the eyes tilted down so much, so it really captures that quintessential iconic look. I know a lot of ppl aren't a fan of seeing the eyes, but I love that feature. The only things I'm not a fan of is the little nubbins on the chest aren't painted/don't have that effect like the arc reactor. And how the helmet is too small to house Tony's head...even though it doesn't really look off when looking at the whole package.
I love Mafex really hard but I find unless they come with a soft goods, they ain’t always worth the price of admission. I loved the symbiote spidey but at 155$cad to get to the door I expected the only painted portions to be immaculate and they weren’t even close. The white spider legs are painted terribly. Thankfully I was capable of selling it off.
Man I wish I picked this up. It has a nice shine to it while having some shading to bring out the sculpt. I do agree the Canon wasn't necessary. Toss that out and throw in the horned helmet and this is the end all be all for this armor. I hope they tackle other armors: Extremis, Bleeding Edge, Model Prime, etc.

the proton cannon is included just to higher the price and make it harder for people who don't want to spend $150 on a 1/12 figure, I mean mezco justified they're price with how much accessories they included with wolverine but this 😑
I don't think we need a comparison, mezco has it's own style so you either like it more than the original designs or hate it so that conversations out, and between mafex and legends it depends you wanna spend more for more or not, and that check's out
Is it just me or does this guy have better torso articulation than mafex spiderman 😑
Maaaan I like Cyclops quite a bit. Some of the paint was sloppy for sure but I like that figure!
@@UnparalleledUniverse then I guess I'm the only one here who knows how a human looks, the proportions weren't just off, it was terrible, and the faces just looked to old in my opinion
@@saeedqazi9440 looked like the comic character to me🤷♂️.
@@UnparalleledUniverse well for me it wasn't even close, I'd say the marvel legends looked better
@@saeedqazi9440 I strongly disagree
Hey, hi Mate! In my opinion the Marvel Legends has more realistic proportions...Mafex shoulders at top area bulge out a fraction too much, lower leg area could be a bit thicker, still a great figure overall...Although price wise they more expensive! Great review, Cheers!
Thanks! I can see where you are coming from
