Correction: I ordered my car in October 2021 when the EV6 was launched in Canada and it was delivered in April 2022. My friend ordered his EV6 in December 2021 and was delivered in September 2022.
I'm in France so, not sure the packages are the same. I'd definitely prefer the Package 2, the doors handles are not very important but it would be a bonus, but I care more about the sunroof, the sound system, the HUD, and the ventilated seats. However, I also prefer the physical buttons for heated seats and steering (plus it's a mat finish that gets less dirty with fingerprints) and I also prefer the Package 1 wheels, especially knowing smaller wheels give a better comfort.
My wife just bought the package 2 ev6 she drives 80kms a day back forth to work all wheel drive was important because of the winter and yes the automatic door handle popping out was a other feature she liked along with sun roof. The package 1 door handles are brutal
Thanks Fayaz. I'm glad you liked it. Heated rear seats are very important if you carry more than two passengers on a regular basis and especially if it's cold where you live. Sunroof I understand.
Love the video, I actually hate the 19” wheels and think the 20” wheel on the GT-line are extremely sharp and add more aggression to way the EV6 looks. Also the red color on this EV6 is something else.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a matter of preferences I guess. People have actually complimented these rims and yes this Red looks really nice especially in the sun like this video.
The GT-Line Package 1 door handles can be made a lot better by just sticking cabinet bumper dots over the buttons under the handle. That will allow the doors to lock/unlock with a light push on the handle - the way it should've been from the start.
@@HighOnCars1 Yes I did it to mine. Makes a world of difference. Until I learned of this "hack" I found the manual door handles incredibly frustrating.
I'm getting my GT Line S, which is just below GT in the UK. Equivalent to yours. Ordering this week. Can't wait. But I have to wait 20 weeks. Thanks for the detailed analysis. Sikander looks gutted (dissatisfied), poor chap. Should have invested 4k in his wife's happiness. Happy wife, happy life and all that.👍
I have a First Edition and it has a Wind body but the GT Line package 2. Love it and would pay the 4k if I had to. Glad 😊 it came standard on the First Edition EV6.
Wow how interesting the difference between the trims in US and Canada... I see they really push for the GT-LINE Pkg 2... the Pkg1 should not even be called GT-LINE.... it has less equipment than the Wind trim Teck package they sell in US.... I can live with the Wind with tech in US but can't with the GT-LINE pkg1 in Canada 😄. There's only one version of GT-LINE in US... I own one... that is equivalent of the pkg 2 in US. Thanks for the video.
I don't understand when car makers do this. Different trims in different countries. It's so confusing. Good to know that the GT-Line in the US is the GT-Line Package 2 equivalent in Canada.
@@HighOnCars1 yeah I can't say that the GT-LINE Package 1 is the Wind in US because the Wind has more features than Package 1... ventilated seats... outlet inside... "engine" sounds....Meridian sound.... the cargo cover is an accessory sold on as extra...to any trim...
I was really torn because i wanted the extra mileage. But i also really want the nice extra features such as the sunroof. Something I wondered, the suede seats are punctured, do they get dirty easily? Im afraid lots of little particles of dust or dust will get stuck and i wonder if its hard to clean
After 15 months I'm surprised at how well the suede seats have held up against the elements especially dirt and dust. It's very impressive. I've never even felt the need to wipe them. Just vacuuming them does the job. I had the same concerns as you but am pleasantly surprised.
Automatic Flush Door handles should be standard or Kia should have installed regular handles. People look at the door and wonder how to open it. Not convenient if your hands are full. Does the rear hatch open automatically when standing behind the car as in the GT-Line 2? I've no problem with the 20" wheels but I did install 18" alloy wheels and winter 235R60 tires. I've had EV6 GT2 since April. I did get an AAWireless dongle for wireless Android Auto. I got an interior tray under the arm-rest too. I also miss the sunglasses compartment. With the Solar Windshield I don't use sunglasses , (unless driving into the sun) and they also dim the HUD image.
I have the GT Line 1. I wouldn't have been able to fit in the GT Line 2 because of the headroom taken up by the sunroof. I would love to have the ventilated seats and heated rear seats from GT Line 2.
had you have issue with charge port overheat and 12v battery dead?? i'm interested to buying one, but seems those are 2 important issue for me. thank you.@@HighOnCars1
GT1 for sure. My previous car has ventilated seat, HUD and pull door handles. I personally do not like the ventilated seat as I found them uncomfortable (sorry felt like I pee’d in my pants). As for HUD, I find it distracting. I can’t justify the $ for auto flushed door handle. Also I think 19” wheel rides better.
Which is why they have different trims to suit different needs. Good for you because you can save some money with the GT1. Personally, after making this video I was glad that I got the GT2 because I wouldn't have been happy with the GT1. There's no right or wrong answer. Just a matter of preferences.

Smaller wheels get slightly better range and are cheaper to replace too.
I ordered the GT line pack 2 awd comes in Feb17th cant wait
Congratulations. It worth the wait 🙂

Excellent choice. Congratulations 🎉
@@HighOnCars1 thank u hers is black it's definitely going to be ahead turner
Really great comparison video. Good job! Personally i would only miss the sunroof and rear heated seats if going with package 1

Same, I hate the 19 inch. Look weird and small. Doesn't match the car

Perhaps make a video of it. It will help a lot of people 😊

Can you do a detailed comparison between EV6 GT line package 2 and Genesis GV60 Premium?
Unfortunately I don't have access to a Genesis GV60.
I'm in Canada - I'm glad that I ordered the Pkg 2 (big sun roof fan for one reason), BUT, the wait is killing me !!!
When did you order and in which province? What's the wait time you've been told?
@@HighOnCars1 Ontario - ordered end of January with suggested delivery of December. Still hoping 🙂
My friend in the video ordered his in December 2021 and got it in September 2022 so it's possible that you might get it in December.
At the start you’ve got your years wrong….we haven’t got to December 2022 or any of 2023.🙈
Snap! Thanks for letting me know.

how tall are you? I am 6'5 and I fit in the GT2. You have to sit like a car
Do they have garage door opener? Homelink ?
Not in Canada

Never. I guess I lucked out.
Do you know how to turn off the beep when using the power hatch? It's so loud and annoying coming from the silent power hatch from my Forester.
No there's not.

I thought the GT line 1 had all black seats… but that one has the white trim. Any idea why?
Nope. Those are the seats in Canada at least.
👍Bedankt voor het uitleggen van de verschillen ik heb de kia ev6 gt-line awd zwart sinds 10 1 2024👍💪
Graag gedaan en gefeliciteerd met uw EV6
You didn't mention the turn cameras
Both the cars have the Blind View Monitor. This video is only about the differences between the two.
um.... September 2023 hasn't happened yet!
I already addressed that mistake in the pinned comment 🙂
