Total hero, esp to those in labor while watching
Thank you for your videos, they are great to follow and simple to understand. I am in my 39weeks now and decided to have a water birth based in UK. Would you be able to give me specific tips how to lighten the pain and and prepare for quick labour? I am doing you ball exercises every day and also practicing your breathing techniques. Thanks Sulo
Hey Bridget! I’m a Labor and Delivery and Postpartum nurse in a hospital. I’m still pretty new, I’ve only been a LD nurse for about a year and helping natural mommas has always been a struggle for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching your videos!! They are amazing for patients and new nurses like myself!! This video in particular helped a lot! I love all of your positions for at home and during labor. I’m even going to bring this video to my directors attention so we can make a brochure/printout to be readily available for our natural mommas in the hospital!! Keep making video Bridget! Keep educating! Keep promoting mommas to love their birth!
I hope my nurse is as awesome as you sound in the next few days or weeks! I'm 39 almost 40 weeks and ready to meet my baby girl! I'm using this video to help induce labor and prepared for the birth as I am due 11.4 but we will see if my little girl Hazel wants to come then or not! Haha!
Your Awesome! Stick to your beliefs throughout your career! Many hospitals don't support women in natural labor.
I wish we had more nurses like you in Florida. Where I live, everyone here is so anti unmedicated birth. It’s almost unreal. You’d think I’m committing some kind of an atrocity.
This video was incredible ! Helped induce labor and give me the quick and easy delivery I was dreaming about
Thank you for all your videos. I watched these each night before our baby was born and it helped A LOT during birth. You are awesome!
40 weeks and 2 days, Watching this as I’m going through contractions .. hopefully today will be the day
Same here! I’m 39 weeks going through labor right now and watching hoping it helps too!💜
Honestly i couldn’t even look at the birthing ball once the contractions started to hit bad 😩only
Thing that helped was walking around ... I came into the hospital 10Cm tho 😂... good luck hope you and your baby are healthy and you got this mama 🙌🏽❤️
@@ilonaodeychuk5205 omg goals lol
@@stephanymiranda2361 haha honestly it was all mindset, I kept telling myself I’m only 3cm and that I’m weak and that women have done this for forever 😂and my husband forced me to come in... and I was 10 😂I was like oh shoot okay
@@ilonaodeychuk5205 omg hahaha glad he did! I’m glad you had a quick delivery , I’ve been pretty much early laboring since yesterday so I’m hoping today it progresses and I can meet baby lo
29weeks and watching these videos have made me feel confident and so excited for my baby’s passage from womb to world. Any anxiety I have has melted away as I become more informed and educated on how to prepare and support my mind and body for delivery. Thanks for teaching us💓
Dear Bridget, thanks for this video!! I am currently binge watching all your videos as preparation for my second birth in April. My first was extremely long and traumatic and so I prepare very intensively with my midwife to make this one better. I am so glad to have found your channel!!
Thank you so much for all of these positioning ideas. I’m 27 weeks pregnant & i’ve been experiencing braxton hicks a lot this week. Showering, soaking in the bathtub, & stretching/swaying has helped every time. I can’t wait to implement these moves during labor.
Hey Bridget, where did you get your certification as a birth doula? Thinking of RECONVERTING MY CAREER PATH TOWARDS THAAAAT!!! *Much* love and kisses, Laima.
Thanks for the video! I love watching and learning from you! I'm 38 weeks along and this has definitely helped. It would be more helpful if there was a sheet you could download that has a photo and a small explanation of the different positions, for when I am laboring and want a different position it would be nice to have something to make a quick reference to instead of watching your video again. Just a suggestion! But thank you for your videos, I love them!
Katelind Pratt Anderson you can make a sheet and share :) just a suggestion.
Watching this while im early labour at 3 am
Yay! How did everything go? So excited for your and your new bundle of joy.
I´ve been experiencing pelvic girdle pain from week 30 in my pregnancy. Would squatting be still good for me to use during labour ?
I'm 39 weeks and have been in labour for almost 3 and a half days. I am so ready for him to come out now 😩 I'm hoping your tips help as I am at my wit's end!
After 5 years TTC and four losses. I'm SO excited for this birthing experience of our sweet rainbow baby girl. All natural hypnobirth. I love all your materials ive been binge watching ALL of them! Thank you for sharing everything!
So excited for you!! We have had two losses and now due with our Rainbow baby girl Christmas Eve! It's so wonderful feeling her kick around in the womb 🥰
@@viktoriyarain8428 Thank you! And congratulations on your rainbow baby!!
Dear Bridget, thank you so much for your videos, I'm currently binge watching all of them but I especially like the very practical 'hands on' videos like this one! I'm almost 35w with my 2nd and hope for a water birth this time. Portugal where my first was born did not offer many choices for laboring. It was all quick and easy but very medical once I reached the hospital (while I did intuitively do many of the things you describe here during the hours at home which for sure helped, I was more than half way dilated when we reached the hospital and things progressed quickly). In Germany where Nr. 2 will be born, births are much more handled by midwives and typically they support you a lot more in fmding individual positions and techniques for your birth. Continue your great work, I'm sure many more women (and birth partners) will be so happy and thankful to find your videos!
41 weeks today and watching this to help manage my early labor pains. Kneeling while leaning on the birthing bell is helping a lot!
I followed this video at 41 weeks pregnant and I went into labour and gave birth the next day. Could be coincidental but it definitely prepared my body for labour
How often or how long did you do it for... I'm currently at 40 +4 with no progress 😬
@@alexagg7640 I only did it once the night before labour. At that point I was fed up and wasn’t expecting anything to happen
@@Tahirah_monifa Well I'll give it a try today. Lol. . hope I get as lucky as you. 🤞
Then whyyyyyy all we getting babies on our backs. Gosh... Why? 🙄 old and narouminded crazy doctors....
I recently read it's actually down to one of the French emperors during absolutism - women giving birth on their backs were a fetish (!!!) for him and he made it a rule in France - don't know if that's true though! But it's so stupid, isn't it?
@@annikamerk827 yap i find out it too not so long time ago :D omg...
I'm in labor and currently watching this, very helpful
I LOVE your videos. I'm 25 weeks and these are my go-to in preparing for my sons birth. This is my 7th baby but my first planned natural birth. My only natural birth with my 5th was unplanned and traumatizing. I want to choose to go natural this time and be prepared. I just ordered my ball yesterday and can't wait until it gets here.
@sugar addict I ended up ordering a Golds Gym exercise ball from Walmart that only cost $7! It's great. I just finished blowing it up today. I hadn't realized how big it needs to be since I got a 65 cm ball. It's pretty comfy and has helped with some of my hip and back pain when I sat on it today. I'll definitely be taking it to the hospital with me.
I wish this was made before early I just had my daughter on the 26th. I used so many of your other tips from previous videos. I had no epidural, labor for 16 hours had to be put on oxytocin to force me to dilate. I was very proud of how far I made it into my labor but unfortunately after 2 hours of pushing she wouldn’t budge from my pelvic bone. So we had to get a c section. Which I had one before and was attempting a vbac. Ob said to me in the OR that he was so proud of me for giving it hell, but my pelvis is just to narrow for even a 6 pound baby to come through. I love all you videos and truly feeli like they got me through the whole thing! Thank you so much for doing these
Is it possible for you to make a video on laboring in a tub. I am looking into it but like how you describe things. Please consider 💕
From a nervous mama to be.
nyanjocycat agree!
Agreed!! Due is September hope she sees this!!
This!! Yes please!!
Thank you so much for all of your videos. This is my first planned natural birth (Im due August 2nd with my 4th) it’s just a waiting game at the moment and you have helped me soooo much in learning how to breath and ways to labor naturally. I feel very informed and positive. Especially with all the birth classes not happening right now. So thank you for taking the time to post these videos!
Currently 40weeks and 2 days and definetly in labor. Doing all this positions. Hopefully it doesn't take all day
Soooo FOG? Forward, Open, Gravity? It seems strange to have an acronym where the parts used (Be, Lean, Trust) are not the core of the message XD But very helpful other than that!
Hi Bridget, I love watching your videos. Currently 38 weeks preggy. I am suffering from SPD and thus opening my frontal wider then my knees gives me pain. I still want to give a natural birth without epidural. Can you suggest exercises during labour for SPDs.
Many thanks for your response.
Stressed Momma
Thank you for all of your videos! Currently approaching 38 weeks with my 3rd child ~ hoping to be able to breath baby out this time 😆
Thanks sister.. I hope my labor will be easy..my due date 23oct
I love your videos. Mommas out there just know that whatever pain you go through it is only temporary and that your body is built for this and the only way through it is through it 🥰 you got this!
My first labor was scary of course too but once I accepted that there is no turning back I just felt so calm and focused and the nurse told me not to avoid the pain, but to focus on it and push the pain out and it helped me SO MUCH in the moments when I felt like I couldn’t push anymore. Such a magical thing that is moms can do.
I’m 8 months pregnant now and I am getting myself mentally prepared to go into this labor even better and move more and hopefully not tear. I didn’t do the perineal massage last time and I stayed in bed, so two things right off the bat that I will change and hope to get better results this time 🙏🏻
Good luck to all moms out there! God bless you, your babies and your families.
I have a question I am 5’ 11 what size do you think would be best?
Do you recommend bringing a yoga mat for doing these positions in the hospital on the floor?
I heard someone use the acronym UFO
Upright
Forward
Open
Goes well with 411 and B.R.A.I.N !!
38 weeks and 2 days!
Bridget, wonderful video! I don't know if you're still monitoring comments, but I tried the first Amazon link to the birth ball and it doesn't work anymore. the second link, further down goes to a page with many size options (not s, m, l, xl, but inches). do you have a recommendation for a size of birth ball for a woman (my daughter) who is 5'5"? Thank you so much!
Love my birth ball, am giving birth to our baby boy in 9 weeks and got my birth ball ready. I've been sitting on and practicing my breathing while listening to coqui sounds from Puerto Rico, so relaxing.
At how many weeks should we start this?? Currently 33 weeks !
I was taking online classes from 9 - 5 so I was having to sit for long periods at a time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxEhgucmXpcAGYh8fatGFEnOK2V97VIwhG After the first day in a regular table chair, I thought about an exercise ball and ordered one that night. It came the next day! My hips, legs, back and butt couldn't have been happier! I'm almost 5'11" and I ordered the largest size and it was perfect for me. I also have RLS (restless legs) and this helped so much.Pumping it up was a little challenging and definitely gives you a good arm workout, (I'm a 62 yo woman) but it's very doable. Getting the tape centered with the hole to inflate it and then getting the pin back in was also a little tricky. But I love my new "chair" and I love the torquiose color. Hopefully it will also get used for exercise. 😁
Do you do these positions during or in between contractions??
I'm at 30 weeks (almost 31 now) and am wondering if it's worth it for me to buy a birth ball now? Will I be using it a lot for postpartum recovery as well?
Just curious if the hospital floors are quite hard do you need to buy/bring knee pads to the hospital for most of these all fours positions?
You can bring thick exercise mats and things like that
If you don't want to worry about a mat, you could probably use sheets or a sweater or something like that (just be conscious of traction if you don't have someone helping you or don't feel like you have good grip with your feet) - just speaking as a person who has done a lot of exercise in different locations, not a doula or anything like that!
I am 24 weeks pregnant with my baby girl and I have been binge watching your videos!!! They are so helpful 😊😊
24 weeks? Don't do these too early. Don't want baby coming out too early
What size ball is it ? The link doesn’t work. Also when can I start using the ball ?
A peanut ball is also a really great option if you want to be in bed but stay open (especially if an epidural is used) 😊
Love your yoga ball so much and when you’re sitting on it it’s so good love you so much❤
32 weeks and I can’t thank you enough for all your videos.
Congrats on the little one!
This is SO helpful. I’m 38.5 weeks and have been getting false labor, painful Braxton Hicks and the birthing ball is super helpful during those. I appreciate that you share tips and positions for momma’s using epidurals as well. My baby is currently face up and I may have to succumb to an epidural if I have back labor :( But also since this is my first, I may chicken out either way. It’s hard to know what I can handle when I’ve never done this before!
I learn so much from your videos. Thank you!!!
Amazing ❤ nearly 39 weeks. Baby determined to stay inside so far, not hiking no Yoga helped. But I bet one day she is ready and I can't wait to try all these during my hopefully natural labour ❤
What size birth ball?? I'm 5'3.
Thanks so much for this video. I'm 41 weeks and 3 days. Getting ready to go into labour soon HOPEFULLY. I refuse pain relief medication and the first pregnancy, I went in with NOTHING. Figured I'd be fine. It got so hard. I just laid there and waited. It was only a 6 hour labour but I'm hoping I can speed this next one up and enjoy it a little more.
So this video, birthing ball, breathing exercises and a tens machine is what I'm relying on 😂😂😂
31 weeks and those figure 8s on the birthing ball felt SO good on my hips I still haven't stopped doing them lol
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing knowledge! ❤. What are your thoughts on giving birth in a water filled bathtub?
Very nice video! I have used many of those positions during my 6 natural births. It's very nice to get such a good review :). Thanks
36 weeks pregnant here and I completely agree that laying on your back in the hospital bed wont benefit anyone. Getting up and taking on these intense labor pains by helping your body maneuver this baby down your pelvis is the best way to go about it. I am taking mental note of all your helpful videos and tips. Birth ball is in transit from amazon. Thanks!
Does laying on your back prevent labor from moving forward like could it stop it?
This sounds silly but are these positions used to deliver baby or just prepare for labor? I saw laying on side of bed is good to push baby out. Is that easy for doctors?
Hi dear, thank you for your videos, I have 2 due dates Dec 8 (from my last date of menstruation) and Dec 28 from the ultrasound, and currently, I am technically 35wks or 32wks, can I start doing these exercises and how long should I do it daily? Thank you so much🥰
Might be a silly question, but are these meant to be done through contractions as well, or just when resting between them?
I got this ball and I love it! My due date is in 15 weeks and I’m REALLY hoping it helps
Thank you so much for sharing, Bridget!!
“For a quicker birth” is a BIg claim and I’m willing to try it ! 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️ much love and respect to you mama !!
Thank you for these yoga ball techniques im pretty excited to use them
I'm pretty sure my labour is about to start and I'm here following your tips lol
Super random but im obsessed with the paint color on the wall behind you!
Hi Bridget! These are such helpful tips, thank you! I'd love to see a video about different positions to give birth while not laying in a hospital bed! Thanks!
Which week onwards is it advisto exercise using Birth Ball?
Yur AWESOME &keep it up. Blessings.
so are these for during contractions or in beteeen or whenever possible?

7 weeks left! ❤
When should we use the birth ball?
Can we use it daily after 36 weeks ?
39 weeks ready for this kid to arrive lol
too much talk. not much exercises
How do I prepare my body to give birth in squatting position so I dont cramp up?? I've tried doing squats but I have no clue if im doing it right or enough.
Thanks for all this helpful info you share!
Thanks a lot for your video! I had back labor with my first son and I'm afraid this is going to happen once again in a few weeks with my second son...
Your video gave me useful, practical tips, thank you!
Hi Bridget, the 2 links to the birth balls are for different ones, URBNFit ($29.97 for 65cm) and Trideer ($33.99 for 65 cm). Is 1 better than the other? I'm planning to purchase today so would love your recommendation. Thanks!
I like the Trideer!
Can I just use a yoga ball?
Yes, a birth ball and yoga ball are the same thing.
Good tips but taking too much.
Using this ony ball during labor! Thank you
sooo.. my knees and hips should be even on the birth ball?
I just can't tell you how much I love your videos. 1 week to go till my due date, VBAC trial. I am so hoping that all your videos help me get the birth I didn't get the first time.
Please wish me luck and I hope to update you with good news soon :)
Please keep up the excellent motivating work. You are so very good at this!!!
We’re you able to have a vbac?
@@RHM_MusicMinistry I was and I totally thank give credit to Bridget and these exercises. I started them daily at 37 weeks, sat on the birth ball instead of the couch in the evenings doing figure 8s etc. And labored at home as long as humanly possible doing her breathing exercises and staying upright on the ball as much as possible. It was a completely different experience then my first born where I laboured for 40hrs before they took her by c-sec cause i never dilated enough. This time I laboured for less then a day from early labour to when she was out. I recommend Bridget's videos so much to anyone trying for that natural birth :) good luck 👍
