  • A great reel for big fish at a super price. Here's the link amzn.to/2XPH6jS to the best price I've seen on these reels.
We have had such good luck over the years with the Quantum PT Cabos and the Quantum PT Inshore Smoke S3 Inshore reels, taking a look at the Quantum was an obvious choice for us. Our primary need for this real
is for our Fort Myers shark fishing charters, and our Fort Myers Tarpon fishing charters we needed a real that wasn't horribly heavy but had the line capacity to handle big fish that make a long run. We specialize in flats fishing for sharks and whne you are fighting a big shark in shallow water they run like a Bonefish, so you need a lots of line capacity. The Quantum Reliance 65
and in the Reliance 85 are perfect for our needs and should fit the needs of most fisherman looking for a reel that will meet similar needs especially when it comes to grouper and sharks. We do catch some large juvinile Goliath groupers (100lbs) and they can really pull our so you need the ability to give them some heavy drag pressure and these reels and deliver in spades.Good Fishing

Had a long search for a smaller reel with good capacity for slow jigging under $200. I just bought the 45 size. At 325 yards of 30 lb braid, 30 lb of drag, weighting 14.5 oz, and 40 inches per turn, nothing could beat this thing. Even reels at $250 didn't come close. Own some quantum Cabos , and love the quality.

We had the same problem, and these reels have proven themselves many time over with sharks and big groupers!

i do my slow pitch jigging with a penn spinfisher vi 4500, 300yds of 30# braid, a little more expensive than this reel, but i have caught my share of AJs over 20 pounds, with zero issues..

I have 2 of these reels size 550 mounted on 10ft Penn Battalion rods. Good reels for the price. All metal. They are comparable size to a 6000 Penn. They have a smooth, strong drag. 35lb drag power. The only thing I don't like about them is the handle knobs. I prefer round instead of the T knobs that these have.

      Hey Jason:
I know what you mean, the round handles give you the grip you need to get serious cranking power. The latest reels will have a round knob!

      Hi Koj
There was 350 yds of Fins 50lb braid. It is very small diameter for a 50lb braid which is why we got so much on the reel. Thanks for taking the time to ask the question, Capt Eric...

Thank u for responding ..I’m ordering the 65 and I’m really curious of how many yards well it fit with 65 pound braid that’s my main line that I really want to put in it but I also wanted more lines

If you use WindTamer in 70 you will get about 300 yards on the reel perhaps a bit more. Its only .002" larger in diameter than the 50lb. I use 80lb for our biggest sharks and grouper and I've never broken it off unless it was snagged on the bottom. Hope this helps and I always respond to comments to our videos or social media posts. If you can take the time to post a question you deserve an answer. Thanks! Capt Eric...

Beautiful solid spinning reel, I own the 65XPT, for me I was able to put a whole spool of 50lb. Power pro Moss Green braid, a total of 300yds to be exact.
