Reid Stow is a role model and one of my protagonists in my new book. He and his life story is motivating, fascinating and mind blowing.
It sounds like a fairy tale. Reid Stowe started with a crazy idea, He build his own ship and wanted to sail the world´s ocean for 2 years without touching land. Listen how this idea turned out:

I have met Reid, enjoyed a day sail on the mighty schooner Anne shortly before the voyage began, and was there on the pier when he returned.
I have always admired and respected his purpose in going to sea; that and his drive and skill have been a big inspiration for me. Currently refitting an old wooden sailboat, my first boat (at age 60), and plan to make it my home upon the sea. Reid sowed many dream-seeds with his story, and some have taken root.
