Most of the comments that I am seeing seem to agree that Anthony and Kate’s chemistry was better, but that we didn’t get enough of it in comparison to Daphne and Simon.
@@signalfire15 I haven’t seen that opinion online. I’ve seen a lot of comments slating their chemistry and saying it wasn’t believable, but maybe I’m on the wrong channels 😂
Omg, I went into the season thinking I wasn’t going to like Anthony but damn this season was so good. I want to watch it again. Also Simone Ashley is gorgeous, every time she was on screen I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
@@moustik31 read anthony's book before season 2 and it only made me dislike him more then i already did. Was set up to hate him this season and was shocked to realize i didn't end up feeling that way. They really developed him
I finished season one and loved it and held off on season two because I didn’t like Anthony… what a dumb mistake! I’m absolutely obsessed with Kanthony now and LOVED Anthony’s character development. He’s like a fusion of Darcy and Rochester but with more vigor and wit. Anthony and Kate are both compelling and lowkey hilarious, I can’t wait to see them again in upcoming seasons!
Seeing dark skinned south asian leads ❤️❤️ something we rarely see in Bollywood. The hair oiling, the haldi ceremony! ❤️ the scenes with Penny & Eloise
I honestly would have been fine if they had just recast Simon with another actor, it was more distracting not seeing him with his wife and child at big family events... especially because they are the only family he has. I do wish we had a wedding between Anthony and Kate, I felt a little cheated in that.
Rege Jean Page says he MIGHT come back for a future season, so I think that's why they didn't recast him for season 2. Also, Daphne herself isn't the main character anymore and isn't in the much of season 2, so Simon's absence is understandable.
I beg to disagree. Casting another Simon would have been even more of a distraction, getting used to the new guy while our minds compare him with the previous. There should have been one more episode at least. I feel cheated 🥺
I’d say this is actually the best enemies to lovers storyline I’ve seen. I think because those storyline’s often have them as enemies either because of a misunderstanding that could be resolved with a 10min conversation, or one of them starts out awful and has to grow before they can get together. In Bridgerton although Anthony is a “rake” who has to grow, the main reason they are enemies is because they are so similar. It’s much more realistic. And although I’ve heard people complain that it was too slow of a burn, the almost kisses just drove me crazy in the best possible way. As hot as their scenes in 7&8 were, I don’t think they would have been as satisfying if they’d started that in ep 4 and then had to manufacture drama to separate them again before the end. And yes, Simone is a revelation! I liked her in sex education but her non verbal acting here is just *chefs kiss 👌
I really enjoyed this season much more than season 1! I can't remember the last time I saw two actors having such chemistry on screen. It was just nice to binge this show over the weekend, gasp at the dramatic moments, fan myself at the steamy moments and admire the gowns ❤️
This is the review that I was looking for! I binged the whole season in a day and it was SO worth it! I wholeheartedly agree with you that anybody who's currently writing an enemies to lovers story should pack their bags because I got everything I needed from this season. I can't describe the satisfaction I got from seeing these two characters finally come together and act on that passion. Also I liked this video as soon as you said that Colin should be rejected by two women. I'm so sick of that boy! Spent so much time with himself that he can't see anyone else's interest. I'll be so mad if Penelope ends up with him. Or maybe the writers will work the same magic with him as they did with Anthony so that he becomes more tolerable to watch in the upcoming seasons. Thanks for this review! I thoroughly enjoyed it
Welcome to my channel, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It would take a lot to redeem Colin, I presume he’ll be the main Bridgerton next season? We’ll see…
Frankly speaking, I couldn`t see a chemistry between Simon and Daphne at all, but only blind could not see the thing between Kate and Antony. And I should say that Antony did the bulk of the work. He is really a great actor, I belived him all the way.
I know Colin and Phenelope are an official thing in the books but it wasn't this bad in the book so I need Colin to go his way through hell for Phenelope in their season
I think it can work, but Colin has some growing to do. He is currently like a teenager, not considering the consequences of his actions and thinking he knows best - just like many teens do. But in order to live up to Penelope, he has to be a man - so I'm looking forward to what they come up with to make us take him more seriously.
@@daarianaharisyeess! also they need to get rid of the "glow up just got skinny" Phenelope has because it was such an important thing in the books I almost drop it without finishing it
I adored season 1 and fell in love with Simon and Daphne and agree 100 percent that RJP should have made a cameo. Also have to add that you look amazing and that eyeshadow is so fierce!
1st of all. Yes, I would be interested in spoilery Gilden Age content. Please recap and review it, if you feel like it. 2nd of all Brigerton lost the sex scenes and gained well-written Desi representation. I related SO MUCH to her concerns for her little sister's happiness. And the chemistry btw the 2 leads was off the roof!!! Amazing. NB: I agree with you: the bee thing is ridiculous. I laughed too.. Sorry.
The bee!!! 😂😂😂😭😭😭 Also I had a part where I discussed the fewer sex scenes but I cut because it the video was too long ahaha, but I preferred the fewer sex scenes, the first season had a weird balance of being family friendly and then suddenly super R-Rated, this season found a much better balance imo 🥰
@@JeannesMovieChats Yes me too. I hate when entertainment cant be watched by the whole family (the 3 generations together). I love movie/tv show night!
Great, great review! Love your energy and penchant for details. I think Kate’s being stung by the bee was a for shadowing also for how traumatized Anthony was surrounding the death of a loved one. He was hyper fixated on that until Kate assured him. Also, I went back and binged S1 and picked up on all the Bee motifs there. There were bees throughout but significantly when Daphne gave birth you can see a bee on the windowsill of the bedroom.
Love thiss!!! they're chemistry ooff!! so good! the stolen glances, the smiling, the banter, I couldn't have said it better myself! thanks for the video
The scene where Edwina puts two and two together BROKE me. And the part where Anthony comes to her and tells her he still wants to go through with the wedding and she asks "Because you love me?" and he says "because it's my duty" made me really sad. Also, I think the reason why Benedict got so much screen time is because I believe he's the main character of season 3, if each season is gonna be based on each bridgerton book by chronological order. And I think it's also the reason the showrunners are refraining from making Penelope and Collin an item just yet, because that romance doesn't become a thing until book 4.
So happy to watch a positive review for this season! I loved it so much more than season 1 and I think it was vastly better than the book! Just amazing 🤩
I agree!!! I was living for Kathony way more than the couple from season 1. This is probably an unpopular opinon but I LOVED that they scaled back the sex scenes and instead gave us more of the intimacy and mental stimulation that goes into developing a full/rich relationship.
@@swankyteaist Yeah, I loved the slow burn romance and the moments they finally got together were beautiful! It just felt so much more satisfying to watch because the relationship was so much deeper than Simon and Daphne's. I hope they continue to enrich the characters and plot lines next season.
Brilliant! Love the way you broke things down, looking at costume, jewellery, buildings, scenery etc. As a black Brit, older generation, brought up on Dickens, Austen, etc on tv. Those dramas weren't totally accurate because there WERE black people and people of colour in the British isles, on and off for centuries. Elizabeth the first was annoyed at how many 'blackamoors' were in England and a law was passed in 1603 about it. In Georgian England, there were people of colour (deaths registered confirms this) the real life Queen Charlotte looked like a woman of colour, Jane Austen actually did her last novel, Sanditon, about a young woman of colour, there are some cotemporary paintings showing black people including one showing an aristocrat's black daughter... But you're right. People need to get their history info from schools, universities, textbooks, not Shondaland. I only mention these things to show that whilst fantastical, Bridgerton's diversity is not untrue. Putting a lot of black and ethnic people amongst the ton, the aristocracy, THAT was fantastical. Apart from that, the two leads had even better chemistry, than in season 1. Simone Ashley deserves to be a major star. Lovely to see dark skinned south Asian women as romantic leads. Two fingers up to the notoriously colourist Bollywood. Polly Walker is magnificent as Lady Featherington. Snobbish, venal, treacherous- how she trapped the new Lord Featherington into matrimony- BUT..viewers felt for her, trying to make a future for her daughters. And the Penelope-Colin sub plot was riveting and heartbreaking. As was Penelope's falling out with her bestie, Eloise. Hope these last two elements are the main plots in season 3. And the actress playing Mama Bridgerton deserves an Emmy.
I love how you said there are text books for learning history and education, Bridgerton is here to entertain and not to teach them kids about what exactly went down in high society in Britain in 1814 🤣🤣
100% agree. Can we just settle into these few, fun spaces that exist for us to pretend colonialism, racism, all the other isms didn’t exist and just ENJOY the decadence of the experience?
I have two words… Yes Queen. First time to the channel and you have a new subbie right here. Love your energy and viewpoints. Giving us your take on the aesthetics, history, costuming, all the storylines just yes!!! I agree with you on this ship. Can I be Co-Captain, because it gave what it was supposed to give and then some. Also yes, so many storylines, so much less time for Kate and Anthony! Overall season 2 is it for me just for the ship that I will go down with. Looking forward to more amazing content!
Out of all the reviews I saw about this new season, I liked yours the most! Girl, your energy is fire! Really engaging, sweet and informative! I just had to subscribe after this!
very good analysis 👌👍👍S2 is way to better than S2 Kathony chemistry is so tangible so great 🔥🔥🔥Jonathan Bailey nailed the S2 as Anthony Bridgerto.👍amazing acting 👌👌👏👏👏👏
I haven’t seen anyone else say this, but the show is doing an EXCELLENT job at respecting the source material. Most shows that come from other sources don’t often stick to their source material, which ultimately makes them lose their way and become trainwrecks (*looks at pretty little liars*). But as someone who has read most of the books, they are sticking to the main plot points, while adding more features and storylines to make the show even better. So round of applause for Bridgerton!
The leads and their storyline was more realistic and relatable for me personally. I didn't care really for last seasons leads. I loved the classical rendition of the pop music, simply beautiful.
i love your energy, outfit and just the great insights you have on the show. definitely my fav review :) P.S. I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers trope too lol.
This came up as a recommendation for me, and am only about 10 minutes in and I am yellingYES on your comments relating to the diverse casting, this is exactly right, people should not be watching Bridgerton for history, it is a fantasy version of Regency England, and I love the casting, to me I don’t care about what colour/ethnicity the actor is, I care if they are believable as the character, and Bridgerton is so good at getting actors who are so good as their character, they hit the jackpot with Simone Ashley as Kate, no-one else could be Kate.
Thank you for the review! For me, it’s not a S1 vs S2 thing. I adore both seasons (and seeing the baby Duke in S2 always made me gush) and I remain impressed by the writers, sets, costumes, music and actors. The one thing that I will say about S2 that’s better/different from S1 is that I can watch this S2 with my parents without being too embarrassed (or having to hit FF every other episode) 😝
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 you speak truths. I think Rege let them down. Big time! Super turned off by him! So ungrateful! Rege’s IMDb page is not looking full at all. He totally overestimated his success! Benedict was never gay. He had affairs with women last season. The gay storyline was his way to the bohemian lifestyle. Next season, it is his turn and he’s straight. Colin is going to pursue Pen hard!
First of all sis, LOVE this review and your whole take on Kate and Anthony. The moment you said you just watched the best love story ever I was like YAAAAAS!!👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 Secondly, couldn’t agree more about Colin and Pen!! That boy is so damn boring and there is zero chemistry between him and Pen. Her obsession with him is so cringey and she deserves better. I was very disappointed when the showrunners announced their love story is going to be the focus of season 3. What a letdown that’s going to be after the 🔥 that was Kate and Anthony.
I hope Colin and Pen surprise me, but Luke has never once wowed me with his acting. I wasn’t the biggest Anthony fan in season one, but at least Jonny was a great actor. Nobody can top Anthony and Kate though, I just can’t see anyone else coming close except maybe Benedict.
I loved Bridgerton 1 and 2, and I am especially delighted to see diverse characters. I learned about Queen Charlotte who was actually a mixed race woman with Portuguese/moorish roots. I told my association president who was born in the UK but did not know. We, who are both African Americans, Googled her and he was so surprised he went to tell his children! Thanks to Shonda for slipping in some history. Same for including South Asian women as leads.
Love your review. Just what a fan of book and show needs. However I do want to say this: Penolpe is also the +size girl in the book and she is in love with Colin, though he does not love her back. So it´s totally in their story how it goes
OMG Penelope was such a #GirlBoss!!! I did not think of that during the show but you are so right! So funny! I love your video/style/humour. This is perfection!
I think her name is Eloise, not Louise. It's an alphabet thing with the Bridgertons A-nthony, B-enedict, C-olin, D-aphne, E-loise ... I love your review, it's so lively, and I feel you say thing that others don't dare to say sometimes. It's so much fun!
When Edwina says “has it been this obviously all this time!” Once her eyes were opened she couldn’t believe it. And the mothers and Daphne had already peeped it!
Just discovered your channel. LOVE!!!! I know each season focuses on one of the Bridgerton soblings, but I would LOVE a season dedicated to Penelope. She's a true BADDIE, and one xtay from the best villain ever.
I find it hilarious that people complain about one small aspect of authenticity in this show which is so obviously a heightened, modernised interpretation of the era in every way.
I loved your review. But the whole Penelope thing with Colin I understood it differently. Her obsession with Colin is that she sees Colin as perfect and keeps trying to treating him like this perfect person. Like a man of her dreams that we all imagine with any faults till we meet them. I do think that at the end she realizes that she needs to move on from him. Specially after embarrassing her in front of everyone. I think her puppy love is gone and she is ready to move on. Which will be interesting since she ends up playing a huge role in the books. Won’t spoil it. Eloise was annoying to me. I didn’t like how she acted with her nephew. Like she was kind of rude and forgot that in society how she destroyed her whole family because she couldn’t stop going to see Theo. She basically ruined the whole family chances of a respectable family. From Benedict to George. I know during now we don’t care but during that time it was important. That is just me.
The fact that Eloise didn't like her nephew, I actually like, because 1. Not everyone likes babies and kids. 2. Given that Eloise doesn't want to do the whole marriage and baby thing, I found it in keeping with her character and what we've been shown so far.
I agree Eloise did annoy me this season. I hate the way she treated Pen in this season. Pen tried getting her out of trouble with the Queen and Eloise acted so ungrateful, blaming her bff on her lousy actions.
I agree. But I'm hoping Eloise's recklessly rebellious actions this season are setup for her own season/her actions in Book 5. If they follow the books, I think it's good for her character arch. Like, how her dislike for children might change, etc.
@@wildcutecosplay my sister doesn’t like kids or babies. If she sees someone else’s baby she just waves and goes acts like the baby is a dog. She basically won’t even consider having kids and loves her dog as her own child. But every time she sees my son she loves him and treats him with tenderness. That excuse doesn’t work for me. Specially when they are close and all grew up together. Like why be that rude.
@@katerij8549 exactly. Because Pen knows the truth of the society they both live in. She even released her oped when she was going to be presented to the Queen. Listened to her and changed her writing for her. But Eloise just acted like a spoiled brat that wanted to claim someone else’s success for her own ideas rather than doing something. The whole season she like “omg she can do so much more” ok but Pen doesn’t. She wants to write her own way. She knows her audience. But we will see how season 3 will go. I was just so annoyed ugh. I loved her in season 1.
Loved the chemistry between the leads but I wish the show spent less time on side character stories (lady featherington, Benedict, eloise) and spent more time developing the relationship between Kate and Anthony because it felt so underdeveloped!! The had like a handful of moments intimate moments together and most of them was just sexual tension and heavy breathing. There was little talking and getting to know one another, understanding each other so that they can smoothly move from enemies to lovers without being abrupt. Literally everytime they started a serious convo they either got interrupted or the heavy breathing intense eye contact started up again (which got old pretty fast). I feel like season 1 did this waaaay better with Daphne and Simon. I could see their relationship growing and developing. We watched them very clearly go from enemies to FRIENDS to lovers and that made it feel more real. I kinda felt like Anthony and kate only wanted each other sexually but didnt know anything about each other likes, interests, personality (beyond the negative traits) to be truly in love with one another. It felt a bit superficial.
YES THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FELT. I also thought they only added the Hindu traditions when it was convenient for them, bc the sharmas still get married in a church. Haldi is a hindu tradtition and they didn't do it properly either. Everything felt half done.
@@RA-ni8uu yes exactly!!! I respect that they added some tradition but they could have done soooooo much more. ESPECIALLY with the fashion!! I was so excited to see some traditional Indian dress incorporated in and we got nothing!! Which made no sense for these girls who are proud Indian women that grew up in India. You would think they would add something to their outfit especially since Indian dress is sooo so beautiful! They could have added a wrap, or sari, or had kate wear a lehenga since she wasn't trying to marry so it didnt matter for her to try and fit in. Idk they could have at least incorporated some traditional designs into the embroidery of their dresses at minimum. The only thing we got were bangals?? AND SHE BREAKS THEM WTF!! At least her outfits didnt all look the same like daphne's in season 1 who looked like all her clothes got bleached to much. They don't even speak the language at all except the first scene with kate when she curses at Anthony for following her??? Why do the sisters not talk privately to each other in their language so others can't listen in?? I do that with my sister all the time.
@@angelaf.4937 YES EXACTLY! I totally forgot about the dress part :( They could have done so much! I remember Kate says "We speak Hindustani and Punjabi" or something. First of all, Hindustani isn't a language, and second, why do we never see u speaking it? And where did the nickname Bon come from? They deviated from the book so much too, it was special enough on its own either. And her breaking the bangles BROKE MY HEART!!! They were so pretty even tho they didn't match her outfit or fit in with her storyline in no way whatsoever. And in the end where they made out in front of everyone? Hello? they lived in a time period where even holding hands is risky, even tho they're married! And when he says Kathani as her full name instead of Kate. When the heck did that happen? Does Edwina have a full Indian name too? Was the mother half white? There were so many holes in the story!!!
@@angelaf.4937 I feel like they could have shown tension between Kate and Anthony after they got married too, like with Simon and Daphne. They didn't address colorism much even tho it is a huge issue among people, especially Asian girls. I thought the first season was done way better even though it had its problems. When did Lady Danbury come into their lives? Why was she always in their business and why did she always give Kate advice that did nothing? I felt sorely disappointed by the second season. The side characters felt very off too. Benedict was whiny and Colin was aimless. The younger Bridgerton children didn't do anything and I felt like only daphne was played very well, and also maybe the mother. They could have explored so much more with their problems instead of spending so much time on Edwina's obliviousness, the Queen, the Featheringtons constant drama and money problems, and Lady Whistledown. Why the frick is the Queen so bent on exposing her. Like there were gossip columns everywhere not to mention she probably had better things to do. Sorry for the rant I was just upset that this season was so messed up.
Oh man, I loved Benedict in this season. I related to him as his reactions felt like the audience reaction to everyone's issues. His one liners are everything. He makes me laugh. I do understand what you mean by the privilege he exhibits w his storyline. It's almost easy to forget that this family is not even middle class, they're literally aristocrats with titles and massibe fortunes that rub elbows with monarchs. One of the reasons I couldn't keep watching Downton Abbey.
@@mikayladanielle I am stoked!! He's even more likeable as a secondary character than Anthony, and I fell for Anthony in s2. Benedict won't be a hard sell lol.
Okay so I know I'm massively late with this. First of all: I don't know if you are a public speaker, but you speak with such eloquence without being boring, that's really amazing. The reason I'm late is, I was not interested in this season, because I did not like the first reason and I heard that the lead actor would not be returning. But this season's story is SO MUCH better than the first. The first season felt like an extended luxury magazine photoshoot at times; with gorgeous locations, gorgeous people, but little story and/or connection between these people. Especially between the lead characters; I mean when you think about it, what exactly do they have in common? The amazing chemistry is down to the actors, but the characters themselves had zero chemistry. This season was entirely different; the lead characters were like different shades of the same person with so much more interesting and heartbreaking backstories. Plus their verbal sparring was on point. This actually felt like very richly layered love story. And also agree that it was a dick move from the actor not even to return for a cameo to a show that helped him launch his career, the actress looked so awkward and out of place without him.
Girl I agree. The bee thing seemed a bit far fetched. I couldn't help but crack up 🥴😂😂. The chemistry between Kathony was off the charts. I could've missed the unnecessary Fethearington & Penelope drama for more Kathony romance & screen time.
You're criticism of Benedict could actually turn into a great character arc for when his season comes around! Especially concerning his love interest and where she comes from. I won't go into spoiler territory for those who haven't read the books, but I personally can't wait until we meet her! Hopefully, she's gonna call him out on his privilege and destroy him before they fall in love. Also, Benedict should've been bi. They set everything up in season 1 only for them to queer bait us.
I actually quite like Benedict - and am looking forward to next season which would be his story and should be a cute one if they are sticking with the set up of the book.
I agree, Edwina was well written. I also like that other family matriarch who played fraud on the ton. I love that the mom swindled that horrible excuse of a man.
You are so gorgeous and engaging! I could listen to your insights all day long! I first watched season one in April of this year and I really loved it. Simon and Daphne were compelling and the show had a magical coming of age quality. I like how it showed them being able to overcome problems in their marriage and how Daphne and Simon both grew together. I wasn’t that eager to watch season 2 once I discovered it was about Anthony, who I didn’t really like in season one… Let me just say I was a hasty bitch!! I binged it over two days and I. WAS. FLOORED in every possible way. Anthony and Kate are now my favorite Bridgertons, LOL. This relationship was everything I ever wanted, their character development was stellar and the acting was just phenomenal from the whole cast. This season also made me love and appreciate Benedict, he and Daphne were amazingly supportive siblings for their troubled elder brother. I also came to love Edwina by the end and I hope to see more of her. It would be wrong to lessen that sibling relationship just because Kate is a Bridgerton now with 7 siblings-in-laws. I’ve watched the Kate/Anthony scenes so many times, I can’t get enough. No wonder season 2 of Bridgerton is the most watched English-speaking show on Netflix EVER!!
I loved your way of breaking it down so much that in my haste I clicked by mistake the dislike button. I undid it in under 1 second. I liked and subscribed so fast after to quell my guilt. Keep shining queen 👑 love all the way from Morocco 🇲🇦
They might be the next season because the writers said they may not go in order with the books and some of the lines were from Book 4 RMB and also I’m thinking they will have Pen get a new love interest so they can get him jealous cuz he said the most heartbreaking thing that Pen heard and she is pissed! Also, Eloise is no longer her friend so if Colin wants to know something about Pen his sister can’t help so he better eat his words what he said to “friends”
I don’t understand how anyone can hear “adapting historical romance books to Netflix” and then expect historical accuracy. The genre has a long track record of really not caring; not the point.
I really liked the chemistry between Anthony and Kate, but I feel like they could have had more scenes of them talking about their backstories and getting to know each others character instead of the whole love triangle for 6 episodes. I felt like the wedding episode was also too long of nothing happening really. I never really warmed up to Edwina till maybe the very end, but I'm interested to see if she will be in the next season. But I don't really like that both seasons have emotionally repressed men as the main characters and they just turn into semifunctional human beings because of the women in their lives. I'm especially confused with Colin, one minute I'm like yes, he's finally coming around and then he does something stupid and I dislike him again. He's just such a nice guy, especially in season 1. I hope that Benedict gets a gay or bisexual storyline because that was teased in season 1 but I feel like they backpedalled in this season with the girl in the Arts programme. I don't know if they will do a whole season with a gay relationship sadly.
YES, let's talk about the other Bridgertons. What happened when they casted Benedict and Colin? Where is the charisma, I will find it hard to care about their love stories. NB: I wasnt here for Benedict slumming phase either. Grow up dude. Colin is so mean to Penelope too. I wish, she wasnt so obviously in love with him. Eloise was written as so obnoxious this season. She was dangling all her privileges in front of Penelope (who couldnt be presented at court, who wasnt deemed attractive by men) and it was very self-centered of her. I just realised that both Bridgertons' siblings Penelope love the most, treat her like sh*t. I want up to grow up and stand up to them both. She deserves better. I agree, that Rege Jean-Page should have come in for a cameo. I was so disappointed in his choice not to come back. He wasnt by his best friend's side during this difficult time (looking for a wife) or at his wedding and that made no sense. RJP let us all down.
It seems that Colin might be the main character next season… lord help us! He needs to step up big time, they did a great job redeeming Anthony so if anyone could do it, it’s the geniuses at Shondaland 😅 Also that’s a great point about Eloise, she’s really self-centred, it’s tough to relate to her.
@@JeannesMovieChats I dont remember his face and yet, they MUST have given him close-ups this season. Also, I dont watch Bridgerton for White-on-White romance. Been there, done that. But you are right. A miracle happened this season. So, I do hope Shonda Rhimes will rise up to this challenge. It wont be easy!
I came across your channel, you're really funny. However, as a lover of historical romance, I am not happy with many things with Bridgerton. Eloise as a character is irritating as hell, I don't care what happens with her. I did not like the Sharwa sisters interactions in the last few episodes. I had some issues with the writing. I thought the costumes and art direction is gorgeous though. I must prefer Starz' Outlander in regards to writing, romance and heart.
My only criticism is there less sex like last season it was too much after awhile I got bored of Simone and Daphne sex scene and I wanted more with Kate and Anthony.

Great review! I absolutely cannot wait to see Kate as Viscountess in the next season - Simone Ashley is so regal 😍
We’ll see…
@@JeannesMovieChats Lord help us!
Frankly speaking, I couldn`t see a chemistry between Simon and Daphne at all, but only blind could not see the thing between Kate and Antony. And I should say that Antony did the bulk of the work. He is really a great actor, I belived him all the way.
As a south Asian woman, I want to thank you for this funny, relatable and emotional review 😭
You're very welcome! Thank you for checking it out :D
I know Colin and Phenelope are an official thing in the books but it wasn't this bad in the book so I need Colin to go his way through hell for Phenelope in their season
Yeah, I’m going to need them to divert from the books on this one because Penelope can do better!
Oooh that’s a good point! Maybe it’s symbolic of their father? Although his death was still hilarious imo 😂😂😂
This season was fire 🔥. The first scene with Anthony and Kate the tone was intense...however, the storyline that followed was pure fireworks.
I just need to see more of this couple on next seasons, forget the other Bridgertons, we breathe KATHONY
So much better than the first season..the chemistry for ages
This season was brilliant. The chemistry of the two leads was 🔥🔥🔥 I loved it.
@@saskiarobbiati4658 sigh* yes i really hope they do. 😊
Your entire comment is ‘chef’s kiss’ thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for checking out my review ☺️
I love how you said there are text books for learning history and education, Bridgerton is here to entertain and not to teach them kids about what exactly went down in high society in Britain in 1814 🤣🤣
Preach on people do not need Bridgerton to learn about colonialism! Thanks. Loving these reviews!
Thank yoouuu! And yes you can absolutely be co-captain! I’m so happy people were just as invested in Kanthony as I was! 🥰
Kate was perfection
i love your energy, outfit and just the great insights you have on the show. definitely my fav review :)
P.S. I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers trope too lol.
Season 2 was so much better!! And Benedict’s book is my favorite 😍
I love your review. You’re so enthusiastic, you dress the part, you really get deep into things. You’ve got a new subscriber!!
Thank you so much, welcome to my channel! ☺️
LOVED your commentary (also still swooning over Kanthony)!! Excited to watch your other vids!
I couldn't stop smiling throughout this video ,you captured everything that I felt about this season so well!
You are so right with Kate and Anthony, loved them a lot, definitely better than season 1
I really feel sorry for Penelope, She deserves sooo much better!
First of all sis, LOVE this review and your whole take on Kate and Anthony. The moment you said you just watched the best love story ever I was like YAAAAAS!!👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Secondly, couldn’t agree more about Colin and Pen!!
I love Bridgerton 1 and 2 and l thought season 2 would not have been as good but they certainly did deliver it was well written Excellent work achieve
I see Lady Featherington and her girls have remained their Tacky selves this season 🤣
Loved your review. I also loved Season 2 so much.
What you said at 11:28 about the best love story ever told, I agree with you 💯
Ok I need you to do a 2nd review that covers all the rest. So many nuanced scenes!
No one talks about the fact that Kate Sharma is a commoner. Her real parents carried no regal announcements
I laughed at the part with the bee too 🤣
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one! 😭
You nailed all of my thoughts and feelings on this season!
Anthony and Kate Goals 🇬🇧🏴
I loved season 1 but it has nothing on season 2. I am for all things Kate and Anthony!!! Absolutely loved it all and I love your video.
Listening to you talk about this is maybe more entertaining than the series itself. I lived!!! Loved the video.
Loved this review!
I think her name is Eloise, not Louise. It's an alphabet thing with the Bridgertons A-nthony, B-enedict, C-olin, D-aphne, E-loise ...
I love your review, it's so lively, and I feel you say thing that others don't dare to say sometimes. It's so much fun!
the season completely turned around my opinion of anthony.
Me too. I adore him now!
When Edwina says “has it been this obviously all this time!” Once her eyes were opened she couldn’t believe it. And the mothers and Daphne had already peeped it!
Benni is my boy. He funny, wholesome bean. Also read the books so it may have a effect.
Thank you for an excellent review! I agree with all your comments on Kanthony!!!
I've just started the video but my god you look so GOOD in blue 😭😭😭
Missed Simon! and the banter between him and Anthony
Love love love the energy you put into this review! In Season 1, Anthony's lover was a successful opera singer.
Thank you! And you’re right, I misremembered that storyline, thank me for the correction ☺️
21:54 when you laughed about Anthony's dad.. Couldn't help but chuckle too.
great observations
Your positivity is lovely!! Have a nice day :)
I think the seasons need to be a lot longer than 8 episodes. That’s probably why things feel rushed & brushed under the rug
Same! In season one I was not checking for Benedict, but this season he was one of my favorites. Can’t wait for his storyline next season!
@@mikayladanielle I am stoked!! He's even more likeable as a secondary character than Anthony, and I fell for Anthony in s2. Benedict won't be a hard sell lol.
He and Colin have middle sibling energy
Was waiting on this review from youuuu✨✨
Girl I agree. The bee thing seemed a bit far fetched. I couldn't help but crack up 🥴😂😂. The chemistry between Kathony was off the charts. I could've missed the unnecessary Fethearington & Penelope drama for more Kathony romance & screen time.
Amazing review. Loved every ep.
Loveee the look for this review video
You're criticism of Benedict could actually turn into a great character arc for when his season comes around! Especially concerning his love interest and where she comes from. I won't go into spoiler territory for those who haven't read the books, but I personally can't wait until we meet her! Hopefully, she's gonna call him out on his privilege and destroy him before they fall in love. Also, Benedict should've been bi. They set everything up in season 1 only for them to queer bait us.
I actually quite like Benedict - and am looking forward to next season which would be his story and should be a cute one if they are sticking with the set up of the book.
Please review the gilded age!!!
I loved it better than Season1!
I loved your breakdown so much. You've got a new subbie in me 🥰
Thank you! Welcome to my channel! :)
I agree, Edwina was well written. I also like that other family matriarch who played fraud on the ton. I love that the mom swindled that horrible excuse of a man.
At the risk of sounding ignorant or sheltered what dose bipoc mean? Also did I spell it right? I've never heard of it before.
I wasn’t that eager to watch season 2 once I discovered it was about Anthony, who I didn’t really like in season one…
Let me just say I was a hasty bitch!!
Please do the gilded age! I am so happy to get so much period drama goodness this month!
Yes. I do live the Guilded Age. I will look at that and Brigerton 1. Didn't care enough for season 2 to watch again!!!
🙋♀️ I cried.
Oh and btw. That makeup is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I loved your way of breaking it down so much that in my haste I clicked by mistake the dislike button. I undid it in under 1 second. I liked and subscribed so fast after to quell my guilt. Keep shining queen 👑 love all the way from Morocco 🇲🇦
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed my review 🥰
Colin and Penelope are going to get together in season 4. How may look different than the book.
"They dressed my sister in a tablecloth". "Reminds me of a rotten banana." I am DYING
Hey there! Just wanted to share that I hope that there is a female black love interest for one of the Bridgerton men. I would love to that!
I don’t understand how anyone can hear “adapting historical romance books to Netflix” and then expect historical accuracy. The genre has a long track record of really not caring; not the point.
And also, it was the Viscount's wedding.
The Duke could have been there.
The actor ended his contract, there was no choice...
11:20
Sorry Penelope and Colin get together interesting books.
