This band is beyond any mortal expectations. excellent musicians if there ever were any in one group as DRB. John may now be called aka King of the Tele. JD Maness none better on pedal steel. mosrite60
mosrite60 What a great blend of musicians....John & JD are string legends and Chris Hillman is the epitome of the workingman’s musician, from Byrds, Burritos, Manassas and solo stuff to DRB, I’ve been a devoted fan since the beginning (including Scottsville Squirrel Barker’s)But let’s not anybody forget about Herb Peterson.......wow, if people really knew what a force he has been in some of the music that runs through their lives, whether they’re a casual listener or a music junkie,; You’d be surprised. Along with Chris, Herb is one of the many bedrock people ( along with a host of others: Richie Furray, Tim Schmidt, the Eagles & a shitload of others) who have made a major, major impact on the music we listen to, some 45 years later. I would argue that “Herb Pederson” has been more than a part and a deep foundation that has been a part of music
yes, a great version... but I urge everyone to take a listen to Redwing do it. Tons of guitar, energy and great vocals! Their entire debut album (1971) is a desert island pick, and they paved the road for cowpunk and the Desert Road Band 20 years later. Check it out!
Yep... John was /is Brad's inspiration for a long time. He is his favourite guitar player. Skill wise and also his tone. (slightly cranked Vox AC 30' for rich tele sounds)
this is the real deal...no running around the stage and spouting off hip-hop rhymes like some bands do now that are pretending to be country. This isn't "Hank" country, but it's certifiably the real deal.
I was told John Jorgenson I was going to go see him in Portland Elton John had him on an $800,000 a year retainer Bob Salome and I and a bunch of guys and I guess if they canceled the concert something happened I was told John Hobbes is going to be playing B3 Jon Jorgenson is also a really great organ B3 player
Even they didn't know how hot they played. JayDee is one my favs. JJ is great and Hillman with Pedersen is perfect.Too bad Hillman turned into a rightwing nut.
Where is the double-like button? This is so good!
All star band.
Another pleasant surprise!❤😂❤😂
What an awesome gathering of journeyman musicians.
These guys are beyond awesome!
I was at some guys house earlier pickin some tunes and one suggested for me to watch this. It definitely doesn’t disappoint! Those guys can roll!
Good version of a Mickey Newbury great number, Keep it up guys....
John Jorgensen on the G&L Asat and twin AC 30s. The sound and style that influenced Brad Paisley. Great tone!
Not to mention John’s fingers, heart and brain. 😊
Excellent presentation along with everthing else.
I have seen this lineup at the coach house in California. I met Chris what an amazing night
That is so nice. That is music

let's get this up to snuff! Live performance DYNAMICS were beyond compare....oh man....
@@jmodmon2 Pedersen has legit string playing chops too. In the 60s he filled in for Earl Scruggs on banjo in the Foggy Mountain Boys for a time.
John Alessandro ......and not to forget Steve Hill who wrote most of DRB‘s hits together with Chris!
Herb also recorded and toured with the Dillards in the 60s when Doug left the band for a while.
I love this band and this Newbury version!
Amazing solo guitar.
Was this guy the lead singer in the band called the flying burrito Brothers ?
Yep
And the Byrds
Chris Hillman
Yep

BEST IN THE WEST. !!!!!!!!!!
Só músico de qualidade máxima nesta banda maravilhosa.

I totally agree! After you hear Redwing do it, all the others pale in comparison.
Mickey's proud of this version!
3:03....Very nice!
Yep! Loved the reaction John got from that chord...!
I think John Joegenson was actually Brad Paisley's inspiration as a guitar player growing up. I remember reading about that somewhere.
Jorgenson.
Yep... John was /is Brad's inspiration for a long time. He is his favourite guitar player. Skill wise and also his tone. (slightly cranked Vox AC 30' for rich tele sounds)
Jorgensen is also a killer clarinetist, mandolinist and excels on acoustic guitar in Gypsy Jazz.
Damn the singer was in the flying burrito brothers way cool
U mean Chris hillman?
and the original Byrds
@@ianrive6129 This video is in the middle of an extended Chris Hillman music festival at my house!
it is a good version
added to the set !
Rip Bill Bryson(Bass)

Lead guitarist went off the rails
I dig it! #ACL
Listen to the cover by Eleven Hundred Springs. Soulful with a steel guitar too.
did they ever record his?
Chris Hillman recorded it on his album Desert Rose not too long before this band was formed.
I see Chris playing a fine Mossman guitar; I’d like to know the serial number. I worked at the shop in 74-75
Great acoustic guitars. I have 1977 Flint Hills, in mint condition.
Herb Peterson helped to arrange the eagles harmonies in the studio sessions and their hits

Oh, yeah!
Good version, but still go for Johnny Darrell's!
Even they didn't know how hot they played. JayDee is one my favs. JJ is great and Hillman with Pedersen is perfect.Too bad Hillman turned into a rightwing nut.
huh?
