    John is a sweetheart of a guy. Been blessed to not only work on his signature Takamine, but talk with him a few times, even running into him at the Nashville airport Halloween 2019

    In 1988, when I started singing in clubs with "Wasted Acres", this band was hot. We covered "Summer Wind",
    "She Don't Love Nobody", and "Hello Trouble" and others. I was SO EXCITED because we had excellent 3 part
    harmonies and killer veteran musicians, including a great Steel player. We could do D.R.B. justice! Loved it!
    I will never forget those days!!! All the bands on our circuit were playing Restless Heart songs, but D.R.B.
    gave Restless Heart a run for their money!! I wish they had stayed together. One of my favorites, and truly
    under rated in my opinion. They were flawless! Great interview Joe!

    Loved this series of interviews with Mr. John Jorgenson. I have to say DRB was like the soundtrack to my life back in 1988. Did see them in a small club back then and they were awesome. What I learned was - first of all what an incredibly nice, considerate, intelligent, thoughtful guy he is. The kind of guy you'd like to be sitting next to in an airplane. Secondly, how the "sound" of DRB seems to have come from his ideas - I loved that way of putting it - of merging the British rock "Pretenders" sound with that of country. I think someone else has mentioned this - OK DRB wasn't the same as "The Byrds" - but OTOH they did sort of grab you the way the Byrds did - the music had an immediacy to it just like the Byrds did. Also learned a ton about Django from him - didn't know he played him in a movie - that would allow one to really immerse onself in the details of the story. Finally he seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of music, the gear, the people, the business. In short - great set of interviews Joe.

    Great interview/stories. The evolution of music is amazing...The Byrds through The Desert Rose Band and beyond. We just saw Branford Marsalis's quartet. The interaction between the band members was beautiful. Music is the best.

    What your doing is possibly the most important chronicles on modern contemporary music ever done by anyone.

    This series of interviews is the one I've been waiting for. DRB is one of my favorite bands. I'm not a huge country music fan, but these guys were great. Their attention to detail was fantastic. Those harmonies were incredible, and the musicianship was unbelievable. One of the reasons I loved them so much was because of Jonn Jorgensen. What a great musician. He's incredible. Thanks for interviewing him.

    I met and spent a little time talking with Bobby Neal. At the time he was the Lead player for Bill Haney an Elvis performer from Memphis. Bobby was telling me that he just Joined the Ricky Nelson band and was joining him the very next week. He was a nice guy. did you know him Joe? Great interview series with John.

    Speaking of the DRB, I was hanging on the BEST channel on SiriusXM, 349, Dwight Yoakum's Music Channel and on comes the DRB. I forget what song, and I haven't heard them for years BUT I immediately knew it was them. What a sound. Killer Pedal Steel and Mandolin playing, 2 chorus instrumental solos. World Class singing and playing. I can't wait for the story about how John landed the gig with Elton John. Thanks Joe for this series.

    I have met John a number of times and you will not find anybody more friendly, approachable and kind than he is- and nobody as talented on so many disparate instruments! I recall at one of his gigs in a small Gypsy Jazz club, I met Hank Marvin- John gets the greats to his gigs! I was lucky enough to see Chris Hillman with Bernie Leadon, Al Perkins and Bill Bryson in a pub called the Half Moon in Putney nearly 40 years ago. That was an amazing concert and I can recall that Bernie said it was a mile down the road in Barnes at Olympic Studios that he had recorded the debut Eagles album about ten years earlier. Time sure does fly.

    I'll join the other commenters here in thanking you, Joe, for a great series with John Jorgenson and the other great musicians you've interviewed. Do you specifically interview musicians who have been inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame, or is that not a criterion?

    • @MusiciansHallofFameMuseum
      @MusiciansHallofFameMuseum  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching John… no being inducted is not a requirement. Sometimes they do end up being inducted but you don’t have to be to be interviewed or to have a exhibit in the museum. Best, Joe
