    Freind I have a question, I can do lows pretty decently but when I do my mids and highs, it hurts so bad. What could you think the problem could be?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  5 днів тому

      In the most of cases it's because people, especially those experienced mostly in lows, approach their mids and highs as they approach their lows, meaning that they use the same air pressure, compression, support and shape of their vocal tract.
      Also, during lessons with some of my students that learned solid lows on their own, and contacted me to work on their highs, I've observed that the most of them tend to put more voice in their screams and growls.
      Lows are naturally more relaxed so it's not a problem to have a bit of voice in them (to some degree it can help to avoid too much breath or to make vocals more dense) but the higher you go, the more your true vocal folds might tighten, and if there will be too much tension, it will hurt or sound bad or "pitchy".
      That's why it's good to experiment and observe how much support, compression, air etc. you need to produce various types of sounds. It's also good to observe what shape of the vocal tract suits each of them (shape of the mouth, tongue, soft palate and larynx position etc.) - for each of those sounds, a different setting can work more efficiently.
      Feel free to send me a recording with your mids, highs and lows - xvocalcenter@gmail.com

    problem is false chord when i do it it feels the throat relaxed, but i do the compression thing it feels tighter so it's hard for me to do a false chord after the compression??

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  Місяць тому

      It's important to find the balance - if there will be no compression, vocals will be breathy, if you will use too much of it, then it will get constricted.
      It's also important to find the right onset - if you will attack the sound in a hard way, then you will likely block your larynx. It's more about piercing or sliding into the false chord while having the compression. The compression might feel that it loosens up a bit when you begin the false chord.

    I don’t know if I sound right I made a shirt on my UA-cam just as a test but I can’t really tell if I’m projecting properly?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  7 місяців тому +1

      It sounds like you over-project and engage the arytenoid cartilages too much. There's also something with the tongue's position - it seems to block the airflow a bit.

    I’m having an issue with what I think is breathiness (maybe?) I figured out how to engage my false chords (I think 😂) but I’m really struggling to separate my actual voice from it. Could I send you a clip to see where the issue might be coming from?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  14 днів тому +1

      Hello, if you use too high air pressure or prevent the air from "leaking" too much, you can cause a hyper-ventilation, which causes the dizziness.

    it's a bad way for me because it also involves other muscles under jaw that engage whisper and move true folds away from each other, thus increasing breathiness

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  9 місяців тому +1

      That's why it's good to test various stuff and stick with what works the best for your voice. For one person this exercise can be extremely helpful, for other ineffective or even harmful.
      I need to figure out something new for improving the compression.

    Form what i can hear, youre getting a very compressed and low growl with a lot of resonance and overtones. I cant seem to get it. I can do a glottal onset and the sound im producing is from the false chords but it doesnt sound nearly as brutal or low. I also noticed im using a lot of air but it doesnt necessarily sound breathy. What am i doing wrong 😭😭😭 plz help

      Hello, can you send me a recording with your vocals? Xvocalcenter@gmail.com is my email.
      Maybe you use too high air pressure or aim for too high volume, or you increase the intensity of the support too much too early. Those are the things I was doing for over 8 years until I realized that I don't need to push that hard but to learn how to compress the sound and prevent extra air from leaking with sounds I make.
